Hi everyone! I have been a long-time lurker, and this board has given me so many good ideas! I am Becky, and my fiance is Joe... we're having an intimate wedding Nov 28, 2006 at 2:00 at the Wedding Pavillion!! I'm so excited...!!! We have booked Randy Chapman and STVS, along with Rev Jack Day. Anna from Magic Makeover will be doing my hair and makeup, and Carolyn Allen's is scheduled to steam my dress. Thanks for all the great reviews you guys have given...or I would have never known where to start!!

I do have a few questions that will probably be answered the day of the wedding, but here it goes anyways

1. Did you wear your engagement ring during the ceremony?

2. If you had an intimate wedding, who held the rings? We will have 10 people with us, but no Best Man or Maid of honor...I've never been to a wedding without this setup lol

3. After the walk down the aisle, did you hand your bouquet to one of your family members?

These are all tiny detail questions...I must be thinking about things too much!

Also...we are trying to decide if we should do they Honeymoon shoot in exchange for the photo package we won't be using. Anyone done this?

Thanks for all the help!!! :)

Good questions! I only have an answer to one though.

The way I have always seen it is that the engagement ring is worn on the right hand during the ceremony so that the wedding ring is the first on your hand and "closest to your heart", then after the ceremony they just pop the engagement ring on the left hand on top of the wedding ring.

Just what I have seen, and that is what i plan on doing myself.

Hope this helps. :thumbsup2

Good questions. I was wondering about the engagement ring myself... thanks for the response TinkBride... I hope it will fit on my right hand... hmmmmm..... :goodvibes

Congratulations! In answer to the engagement ring question I think you can do whatever you are most comfortable- most brides do wear it on their right hand as Tink said, although my stepsister wore hers on her left hand (her ring didn't fit on her right hand) and wore the wedding band on the outside at her wedding.

I am not going to wear it at all during the ceremony because according to an old Italian tradition, it's supposed to be good luck for the wedding band to be the first piece of gold the bride wears on the wedding day.

I've been on wedding-research overload, so maybe I can answer your other questions.

For one thing, I'll bet you can give Rev. Day your wedding rings before the ceremony and have him hand them to you. And you could designate a family member to dash up and take your bouquet (or intercept you on the way up the steps). As for the honeymoon shoot, I say do it! It's "free" (well, an exchange, anyway) and a great opportunity to get professional pictures of you in the park -- no need to ask strangers to take pics of you together!

You are so close to your big day!! :Pinkbounc Congratulations!!
To answer your questions:
1. I wore mine on my right hand until after the ceremony then I switched.
2. We had an intimate and no attendants. Our officiant held our rings and presented them to each of us during the ring ceremony.
3. Our officiant took my bouquet and placed it on the podium behind him until it was time for the walk back down the aisle as "husband and wife."

Your officiant will cover all of this with you before the ceremony. No worries!

Have a magical day!!

Hi. I don't have any answers for you. I just wanted to say welcome! I can't believe your wedding is so soon!!!! :bride:

Welcome and congratulations! I asked our jeweler about the engagement question a few months ago. He said that it is really personal preference. Some brides choose to wear their engagement rings closest to their heart, some prefer the opposite. I will be wearing my engagement ring closest to my heart and then put my wedding band on second. I feel that the wedding band seals in the engagement. Being engaged is a happy time and you want to keep those moments closest to your heart. Just my opinion. Good luck!

:welcome: Your wedding is the day before mine!! Still doesn't seem real :tink:
We are lucky enough to have young attendents at our ceremony; our nephews will have a ring each & my elder daughter will probably hold my bouquet. I think I will wear my engagement ring on my right hand. I hadn't really thought much about it.
