Hi All! I kind of faded off of all the boards I frequented for a while. Still Low Carbing though! I was somewhere around 255 when I left here and am now down to 235! (so I updated my clippie too!)

I had a blast at WDW in Sept - but was very upset that DH's twin sons (18 yrs old) didn't call him since the trip (which was their graduation present - and their first time to WDW) - that is, until a couple of weeks ago to beg for Christmas presents. ungrateful little punks! (ok - rant done - lol)

Between the two trips in Sep, (Dominican Republic, which was a work trip - and WDW trip) I lost 12 lbs!

I have been faithful to the LC plan, and with the exception of two bites of birthday cake (blech! way too sweet!) I have not had any cheats. But, I haven't been as good about eating my veggies and exercising. Time to get back on the TRUE LC Plan now.

Have another WDW trip coming up, but this one is for work - it will be 7:30am-5:30 pm working each day - checking out all the hotels, the parks, and the Disney Wonder. The Agent Education Programs are a blast, but Man!, are they hard work! I am going with a co-worker and the two of us are staying one extra night so we can have a little play time (as if we'll really have any energy left LOL)

Well - enough rambling from me - time to go read some threads and see how everyone is doing!

Have a lovely evening,
Robin

hmmmmm...16 reads, but no reply :(

Hi and welcome back!
Don't feel bad about not getting many replies (yet). I always consider a read as good as a reply! Lot's of times it's just a timing issue, especially this time of year. I know for the past week, I've managed to steal a little time to lurk, but not much to chat.

I did a WDW trip in early Nov and did have quite a few 'treats' as it was a birthday trip also. Came back with a three pound gain that dissapeared one week later (love low-carb!).

When you're back from your working trip, I'd love to hear your opinion on which moderate resort has a deluxe feel.....that's what I'll be trying to discover for my next WDW trip.

Keep reading and keep posting, you never know when you say something that really helps a lurker!

Thanks Jackie -
I will remember you in Feb when I return - pre-trip, I really like the Port Orleans for a moderate, but I haven't seen Caribbean Beach in 9 years and haven't seen Coronado Springs. (edited to update the hotel name - cuz my brain wasn't on yet for the day - lol)

We are staying at the Boardwalk Inn, and I'm excited about that! I've stayed at all 3 deluxes on the monorail - will be nice to stay at a "non-monorail" deluxe too.

Have a nice day, and thanks for de-lurking. ;)

Robin,

Sounds like you have a great job! Oh, to HAVE to go to WDW...:D

I've always stayed in the monorail resorts before, too, but recently returned from a stay at Yacht Club. It was wonderful! Staying at the Epcot area resorts gives you a whole different kind of vacation than the monorail resorts.

Not better or worse, but very different.

I think you'll really enjoy the Boardwalk. I hope so, anyway!

Good work managing to get that 20 pounds off. With the new year upon us, I think you'll see lots of WISHers come out of the woodwork and ramp up that WISH energy again.

(memory jog: Coronado Springs is the southwestern themed resort.)

Hi Robin :wave2: and welcome back! It sounds like you've been doing good while you've been gone! It's great that you were able to lose 20 pounds and stay low carb through your trips and birthday celebrations and all (not to mention the holidays!):jumping3: :jumping3:

I, too, have been finding more time for lurking than posting lately. (And not even much lurking time!) Now that the holidays are almost over, I imagine things will pick up a bit in the number of posts.

I'm glad that you're back on board with us! Hope to see you around more often (and be around more often myself!) :D :D

Hi Robin,

I can be guilty of reading posts and not having the time to reply, although this is the first time I have read your post. I feel the same way about my journal entries. I have over 500 views but only 3 or 4 ladies post to encourage me. It's okay though. If my journey can help someone out, then it's fine with me. My main goal of journaling is to give myself a record of my weight loss and to have something to look back on when I'm done.

I'm a South Beacher (sort of low carb, but more good carb/good fat than anything else) and I always love to hear stories and watch progress of other people on low carb programs. Are you doing Atkins or something else? Hope to see you posting around more often. Take care!

Hi,
Welcome back!

I used to be a TA too, and I always loved FAM trips. They are definately tiring (some are worse than others). Hawaii was probably my most tiring trip, but definately lots of fun. I had a fab time in Jamaica (only had to see a few hotels and split my stay between two all inclusive resorts). Also had a great time on a cruise. The only thing I lacked on these trips were sharing them with my DH and kids. I do miss them though. You will have a ball.

Lisa - I'm doing Atkins - with a few extra fruits thrown in ala Protien Power (primarily peaches - when they are fresh and GOOD! - in other words - no peaches lately. lol)

Gawrsh - I feel so much better this morning! Thanks for all the replies!

We are TTC (trying to concieve) our first bambino, and I'm on Clomid - also known as cloMOOD - and I tend to get a bit sensitive at times - (usually just down on myself) - so I'm sure that's why I jumped the gun last night and assumed nobody was going to reply.

I hope everyone has a great day!

- now to figure out what this ONEderland people speak of in their siggies is.....

ONEderland is the sometimes elusive goal for those of us who started at over 200 lbs......199 is ONEderland. For example, I started WISH in early Sept at 249.5, I'm down 25 lbs now (maybe 26 this am....we'll see after the coffee kicks in;) . My goal is to hit 199 by Easter...hence the ONEderland by Spring in my siggie. Those of us taking the ONEderland by Spring challenge check in on a separate thread each week (as well as checking in on the regular WISH thread). There are lots of different challenges/groups on WISH....for cheat free days, number of weeks staying on your exercise plan...all help to keep us motivated and focused!. The walking Mickey you see in some siggies is a group that plans to participate in the WDW half marathon in Jan of '05.....registration for that is coming up on Jan 12 I believe.

Onwards and downwards all!

Ah Ha! Thanks for the info about ONEderland! I don't know if I'll make it to 199 by spring, but it is certainly worth a try...but 36 lbs in 3 months is a pretty steep order.

Guess I should eat my veggies and drink my water!
