Hi everyone - I'm doing Stay and Scream on Wednesday October 24, and I'm wondering how much of an advantage the "holding area" really gives you over the regular crowds. Are you able to get in line for the houses significantly earlier than the folks who are doing regular entry to HHN?

Thanks!

I believe you get an extra hour before the HHN guests come in - which can get you through about 3 houses without excessive waits

I'm not an expert on this - so I'll let someone else verify

You get to explore the "festivities" about 30+ mins or so BEFORE the HHN crowd can even enter the park. You can easily get 2-3 houses done in that time if you walk quickly and have a reasonable attack plan.

Excellent! Thanks so much. If anyone has any additional recommendations for Stay and Scream tactics I'd love to hear them!

Me too! We're doing SnS on October 4th, and we have HHN Express Passes, as well. I'm hoping we can get 8 houses done in 5 hours with this!

Macraven and I are doing the same thing. We should all meet up somewhere.

I can tell you my stay and scream experience from last year.I went on a Thursday and Friday night in mid October last year.On Thursday it didnt seem to help too much because they opened the gates for everyone a bit early. We did manage to get 2 houses done with no line and the 3rd one was only about a 10 minute wait. After that they all were 30 minutes plus.

Friday was a different story altogether. We headed right to the houses in the Sound stages as soon as they let us out.We did all those with 0 wait.We then went around the park clockwise and did every house. The longest wait we had was 1 minute or so.We made our way back over to the soundstages and still only had a 5-10 minute wait.We managed to do every house once and the 3 more we started to notice any crowds. This was without an express pass.Sure hope it works out that way again this year.

Thanks so much! That's very encouraging. I'm hoping on a Wednesday that I can book it through at least 3 houses before the regular crowds come in. I did get the Express pass also. Last year I went on a Thursday and was only able to do 2 houses twice and I really want to do all of them twice this year. I felt like I missed so much detail the first time I go through. I don't remember hardly anything about All Nite Die-in! :sad1:

one more thing to add about why you should go to the stay and scream area.

you are 30- 40 minutes ahead of everyone standing outside the entrance gate waiting for 6:30, opening time.

there should be at least 3 houses open right when s & s is released.

if you do not go to the stay and scream holding area, you will have to leave the park.
beware if you do. many people start to line up around 5:15-30 ish to wait for the park to reopen.
if you are in that line, you have to pass thru metal detectors to enter the park for hhn.

you could be in that long line for 30 minutes before you can start your evening for hhn......

so many people think they will get there around 6 and wait til the place opens at 6:30. so wrong, the line is long by that time.

you have your choice of staying at the s & s holding area for one hour or leave the park and wait longer outside the gates....
