I have read the tix info and intro thread and have questions. First, is it like MNSSHP that you can get it earlier than posted time? What time is the earliest you can get in? Will the HP rides be open? We are THINKING of taking 12/15 year old NOT for the scary part but more to do the rides. We are regulars to MNSSHP and know how to take advantage of staying til the end and "walking" on mine train/peter pan/etc.
and didn't know if this would be a "less" expensive way for us to go during our October WDW trip. We will stay at WDW, DVC so not going to stay on Universal property as I know there are options there. Thanks for any info. We MAY need to wait another year ...but thinking.

I forgot to mention. We HAVE been to Universal about 3 years ago and did the original HP section but have not been to the new section which DD15 really wants to see. We don't need to do a lot of shows

HHN is different than Disney's offering. You can only enter the park early if you have an annual pass, have a day ticket or are staying at an onsite resort. Otherwise you will have to wait outside the Studio gates until 6:30PM when the event starts. Gringotts will be open most likely but only the Studios will be open for HHN...IOA closes at 8PM. There are only five/six rides open during the event so it's probably not a good idea to spend the money for the event...just go during the day and do both parks. HHN has scareactors that roam the streets looking for people to scare so they most likely will not be able to hide from all things scary. You might want to wait another year when they are ready to experience HHN in it's entirety.

As posted above, this strategy doesn't apply to HHN

Non-discounted MNSSHP prices later in season rival prices of regular park tix now vs how it used to be a bargin to enjoy the park even if not interested in the party.

Agree with above.......and no real way to avoid the scare factor there.
