Heading up there in a couple of days. We already have our HHN express passes. We're staying onsite, so we should be in with early entry. We wanted to head into the first couple of houses using the standby line, that way we can go through them a second time later on with the express passes.

For anyone who has already gone, which houses did you think were best(worth a second time through)? Which ones had the longest lines?

For overall design I'd go with Gothic.

For best scares I'd go with House of Horrors (though the last couple of trips were only so-so).

Dead End has some great design elements but also some long voids with no scareactors.

Walking Dead did a very good job recreating scenes from the series but unless it is raining and they are repurposing the street scareactors is too empty and doesn't give you the feeling of being caught in a herd of walkers. And this house consistently has the longest lines so if you want to do it twice, your best bet is to go straight there at opening because by 8pm the queue will be approaching 2 hours.

Silent Hill is well done and one I'd visit again as well especially if you're a fan of the franchise.

Penn & Teller is fun but a typical 3-D house.

Alice Cooper is barely worth a first trip through.

My three favorites are: Dead End, Gothic and Silent Hill...in that order.

I like The Walking Dead and having never watched the series, I thought it was pretty fun.

House of Horrors seems cheesy to me with the glow in the dark paint and I didn't care for Alice Cooper or Penn & Teller...but I'm not a fan so that might have something to do with it.

I'm done with HHN this year...the crowds are just too much to deal with.

Gothic was by far the best, we did it twice. Dead End was great, I would have done it a second time. Silent Hill was good. Those were my top three. The Walking Dead was a dissappointment and my Honey thought it was a missed oppertunity. Alice Cooper really depends if you are a fan or not. If you are, you get a lot more out of it. The Universal Monster house was neat and cool, I really loved the black and white look of it. Penn & Teller was just fun, not really scary, but fun.

Silent Hill was my personal favorite because I liked the games.

However, the one I would recommend the most is Gothic. Beautiful sets, detailed costumes and good scares.

Thanks:thumbsup2! I think we'll be heading to Gothic and Dead End first, that way we can do them twice.

Which ones open early? I was thinking that we might hit a good one during the early open time and then head straight for another good one when the park officially opens. We have Express too but I thought that we might get a couple that way without using the Express just yet.

Depending on which S&S area you're in you'll be directed either to Silent Hill (Finnegan's S&S) or House of Horrors (Animal Planet S&S). If you'll only be doing the one night, I'd recommend the Finnegan's S&S area, hit Silent Hill, then Gothic, Dead End and Walking Dead. You have a decent chance of being able to get through each of these without needing to use your Express Pass (anything less than a 30 minute wait and you can hold off on the Express Pass for a 2nd trip through the house later on) if you make good time moving through the queues (Dead End is especially long and winding) and between houses.

Once you've done those 4, you should be able to slow the pace a little so you can relax and just take it all in. Depending on your timing, you could take in the first Bill & Ted show before breaking out the Express Passes for the remaining houses and 2nd trips through the ones you've already visited.

Based on the wait time texts I've gotten throughout the season, House of Horrors and Alice Cooper tend to have the most volatile wait times so if you end up staying late (or leaving and returning) you can often fit a 2nd trip through each of them with a reasonable wait time.

Hope that helps you plan your strategy. I hope you get some great scares that leave you screaming like a little girl! :)

Here's the house opening times if that'll help...

Silent Hill: 5:45
Gothic: 6:00
Dead End: 6:30
Walking Dead: 6:00
Penn & Teller: 6:30
House of Horrors: 5:45
Alice Cooper: 6:00

Now that it's gotten busier, we usually do the NY S&S and go to Silent Hill, Gothic, run over to Walking Dead, then go back to Dead End, then finish up with P&T, HOH, and AC.

probably Dead End was my favorite and that was due to the SA working it when I went thru.

did 4 nights in a row at HHN and used express pass for 3 nights and private tour for 1 night.
did go thru each house at least twice on each night.
once in the regular lines then again with express.
for the night i did the private tour, no line waits at all.

the house that did the least for me was Silent Hill.
nothing in it really.
the SA would retreat once they did a scare to those ahead of me or behind me.

i seldom saw action in that house.

enjoyed Walking Dead and did see 4 main items that is represented in the tv show. i think that is what made this house good for me.
it was shorter than i expected but it followed the story line.

i know Alice and the story line.
did think some parts of that house was done fine.
i'm in the minority for this as most of the hhn goers are probably well under the age of 30. in most parts, I could only hear the music in two sections.

i found the roving SA disappointing this year.
without knowing the schedule they kept, missed most of them.
no scares at all from them on my four nights at hhn.
when the chain saw girl drill team was in the NY section, no interactions with them. too many guests in that area.

bring back the scare zones...........

My husband and I liked Silent Hill, my Dad enjoyed Gothic. To be honest, they all blended together after a while, but the most memorable a week later was Penn and Teller.

I knew to prepare for lines so we got most of the houses in before 7, and then the lines became ridiculous.

Bill and Ted was very funny except for the political section. You could tell the audience was uncomfortable except for the very loud sections who were very liberal.

I would go again, but would not make a trip to FL just for this event.

I liked Alcie cooper the best :)
Hubby Like Silent hill the best
Gothic was good and the one thats like a haunted farm house when you walk is was very good too
was hard to see things in Walking dead feel they could of did more jmho

Loved Dead End. Classic Halloween feel to it.
Silent Hill was my next favorite.
Then Walking Dead because I'm a huge fan. The house however was not as good as the first two I mentioned.
Gothic was okay, not sure what all the raves are about.
Alice Cooper was good, but I do like his music.
Penn and Teller was lame, House of Horrors was even more lame.

from what i saw on line on the Walking Dead house in Hollywood, i was very impressed!

wish the WD in orlando was the same.

the WD cast went thru the HHN Hollywood house and parts of inside the house with them was video'd.

We liked Dead End the most with Silent Hill coming in second. Gothic was quite good too and we did like the Walking Dead for the most part.
