Hi guys,

Im hoping that the experts over on this board can help me make a decison on if Im making agreat error or have the best surprise ever!!
Here goes ...

I plan on putting our 4 kids into the lil camp rock kids club and surprising DH with a night at HHN. Due to the kids club opening time (4.30) we wont make it into the park before it shuts so that would leave us with 4 hours to experience HHN - can we get a significant amount done in 4 hours???

We plan on attending HHN on 23rd September will we be better with express passes on this day to maximise our time??

We have never been to a HHN so not really sure what to expect in terms of crowds. I am wasting a lot of money if we have limited time or can it still be an unforgettable experience for us ??
Any advice appreciated

September 23rd is opening night and since you won't be able to do Stay & Scream, getting the EPs will save you a lot of time and will allow you to see just about everything in the short time you are allowing. If you don't have the EP you probably won't get to do much.

can you do the paper work a day in advance so when you do drop them off on the 23rd, you will still have time to enter the park.

if so, then go to stay and scream holding area and get a head start on the houses.

If you want a cheaper option that will also give you more time at the event you might consider using Kids Nite Out. Here is the link from All Ears

http://allears.net/pl/childfaq.htm#inroom

They will also take your kids to do stuff if you like, maybe a movie? We used them in Sept 2010 and had nice girl named Lauren watch my 2 boys and my friends daughter.

Since you are unable to do Stay and Scream, be in line at the gates to the Studios as soon as you can. The lines tend to get very long and with everyone having to go through the metal detectors before even getting to the turnstiles, it does take some time.

I agree that you should invest in the EP, especially since you only have 1 night to experience the entire event. Without EPs, the regular lines for the houses can be quite long (upwards of 60-90 minutes) as the night goes on, and unfortunately standing in those lines, you will only get two or three houses done.

I really don't think you should worry about doing Stay & Scream on opening night. You will likely be able to do all of the houses in four hours, probably much less.

HHN has grown so populer that opening night is jammed packed.2hour lines is'nt out of the question.EP's will deff help.

If you cannot stay & scream, but can get there for opening, then do the following:

when you enter HHN, HEAD TO THE RIGHT. The majority of the crowds will head straight and clog up the soundstage houses. As long as the haunted house layout is the same, do this for maximum "stuff seeing"

-House by ET, which exits near:
-House by Barney, which exits near:
-House by MIB
-House in Jaws queue (must be done before the first Bill & Ted show!!!!!)
-Disaster queue house

If you're lucky, you'll have waited no more than 20 mins for the houses. Possibly only 10 per. The soundstage houses build up lines FAST and stay heavy most of the night.
The Jaws queue house is generally Not Busy until the first Bill & Ted show. After that, 60+ mins for the rest of the night, all nights.

If you manage to make it through the 5 houses before 8pm, then just go to the soundstage houses of choice. You might be able to also catch the last Bill & Ted show if your timing is good enough!

FP are a must as others have said if you wish to get into all the houses. We went last year without and wound up biuying them that night. You walk past a 60-9 min line.. $$ well spent.

how many rides/houses are there to see? I may have become confused a bit when you said sound stage house...

Last year there were four attractions open: Jaws, The Simpsons, MIB and Revenge of the Mummy and eight houses some of which are staged in the large sound stages day guests don't often see. These are the most elaborate houses and shouldn't be missed.

Thank you! This is our first HHN & we have no clue where to go or what to do. This gives me a plan of sorts.

We'll be there Thursday 9/29... hoping we won't need to get EP's. Not sure of crowds that night though. We'll buy if we need them.

My decision to get FP started with the first house 45 min wait and we got there before the gates opened on a Thursday night.. Good luck on whatever option u do..

Thanks all you have given me lots of information there and it sounds like 4 hours may not see ita ll but we can have a decent experience none the less.
Thanks xxx
