I'm new to the board and to DVC. We(I) made the decision to buy at SSR after attending the tour and meeting with a guide on our second ever trip to WDW. We went the first time end of April 04 and I had the ressies for the Dec trip made 2 days after getting home. Buying DVC made sense for me because we were already talking about/planning the upcoming years trips before we had left the World again. However, the guide had mentioned the possibility of buying with current use year points so I kind of decided I wanted to go to HHI for Spring Break. It's working out so that we won't get our points til either May or June though so I'm trying to rent points for the trip over on that board. I figure HHI in March has got to warmer than either ME where I go to school or upstate NY which is home. So my questions are:
Do you need a rental car? I plan on flying into the airport in GA if things work right.
What type of bikes do they have to rent? I want to do a lot of riding and studying while there but I'd rather not take one of my own bikes with me chiefly due to how much of a hassle it is to fly with one.
Thanks for any help.

I called last week to get ressies for March 20 - 24. There are not many rooms left. What ever you decide, you should do it quickly.

As for weather - It is iffy - I have been there and it is chilly (Brisk) or other times it is down right hot - Pool time

As for bikes - there are rentals all over the island. Mostly the "Beach Cruiser" type. You know big seats, wide tires and coaster brakes. I liked mine so much I bought one at the Walmart and brought it home

Yes, you will need/want a rental car. It's about 45 minutes from the Savannah airport to the resort and a car is necessary to get around the island.

Bikes are as Robin described. There are miles of paved bike paths all over HH. Temperatures will range from the mid 60's to the mid 80's in March and the ocean will be a little too cool to enjoy, but the pools are heated and the beach is still wonderful to take a stroll (or a bike ride). The resort has bike rentals and there are also many rental companies on the island.

Good luck with the studying! I didn't see any easy courses in that list! ;)

Enjoy!
