Booked 3 nights in studios for us and for DSis in February. We thought a getaway to do some sightseeing in the area and to get away from NJ would be fun.

For weather on hhi during summer, it normally rains for a period of time in the pm. Normally not all day.

It’s not what we’d want to do at the beach, but if the weather is bad there are pool table and- I think? air or table hockey at the Beach House and crafts at the community room. The front desk has board games and dvds to lend. My family always takes our favorite board games and puzzles, and worst case scenario there’s the SGA Aquarium on Skidaway Island and various museums in Savannah and the Coastal Discovery Museum on HHI.

One of my favorite relaxing things to do at this resort is sit on my balcony when it’s raining. Usually clears up in a hour or so!

As mentioned, usually it doesn't rain all day, so you should have plenty of time to be outdoors. The activities mentioned if it is raining are good ones.

Thank you, we will just have to check day by day to plan on renting chairs if going to the beach.

We stayed July 7th-12th and had a 40-60% chance of storms each day. We only had one day where we had to leave at 4pm because of a storm rolling in. When if did rain, it was either overnight or gone within 30 minutes. I wouldn't stress to much.

We were just at HHI last year and spent time at the Beach House and on the beach.
During summer season, I am forgetting, does the beach have lifeguards.
I remember there being a “beach service” at the Beach House for those that wanted to rent beach chairs(we brought our own) but my memory is unclear whether there are “LIFEGUARDs”?? Just saw on the web, there was someone bitten by shark at Sea Pines beach, I believe yesterday. The lifeguards cleared the beach but wondering what the procedure is on the beach house beach.

Yes. We just got back and there’s a lifeguard tower not far from the beach access from the beach house.

Hello! We will be visiting HHI for the first time for Labor Day weekend. Is there a way to find out what tours and activities are available to book, or do I just need to call the hotel? The online info doesn’t seem to include specifics like dates and pricing. Also, if we want bikes for one or two days, do we need to rent from a separate company in advance or will HHI likely have bikes?

Hello. I'm curious about locations of the 2BRs at Hilton Head. We are staying in November. Last November we stayed in a 1BR (took a risk) and were located under a GV. The resort wasn't that busy but there was someone above us and we ended up asking to be moved. They put us in the Lodge, which we really enjoyed. I've read on an older post that there are 21 1BRs, 16 of which are in Buildings 11 and 12. I know there are 2BRs in the outer buildings on top floors (probably non-GV buildings). But are there 2BRs in the Lodge? I don't think so. I think we'd like to be close to the Lodge. So maybe Building 13 right behind the Lodge?

I know we can't control it but hoping to not have anyone else above us . Thanks in advance!

The specific dates and activities change from week to week, so the resort releases an activities sheet just prior to each coming week. And most of the activities require you to be on property to reserve. The same holds true with bike rentals. If you want to ensure you have bikes, use an off site company; however, most weeks the resort will have plenty of bikes. The exceptions are holidays. Labor Day weekend isn't as busy as 4th of July, but the resort might be at the edge of their inventory.
