*HHI Owners and Beach Lovers Group Thread*

Hello. I'm curious about locations of the 2BRs at Hilton Head. We are staying in November. Last November we stayed in a 1BR (took a risk) and were located under a GV. The resort wasn't that busy but there was someone above us and we ended up asking to be moved. They put us in the Lodge, which we really enjoyed. I've read on an older post that there are 21 1BRs, 16 of which are in Buildings 11 and 12. I know there are 2BRs in the outer buildings on top floors (probably non-GV buildings). But are there 2BRs in the Lodge? I don't think so. I think we'd like to be close to the Lodge. So maybe Building 13 right behind the Lodge?

I know we can't control it but hoping to not have anyone else above us :). Thanks in advance!
Every building outside of 11 and 12 have four 2BRs--a top floor and a bottom floor--including the GVs. Now, no 2BRs exist under a GV as that honor goes to studios and 1BRs (such as your experience). 13 is a bit of a gem, rarely mentioned as a great location, but it is close to the Lodge and usually very quiet with good views, too. Other options would be 14 and 15. Both sit on the boardwalk and offer good views and larger balconies.

The only way to get a 2 Bedroom in the Lodge is if you requested a HA 2 Bedroom. There's a 1 BR and a studio that they could "put together". But the villa in the main lodge is on the same floor as check in, meaning that you have rooms above you.

DHHIR owner since 2021 and stayed in a studio every 4th of july booked at 11 months.
The studio is being walked! Out of rooms!
This shows how busy DHHIR remains for studios and grand villas at that time!

Any closings at HHI announced yet?
Hoping that the storm bypasses the area,
We saw on the news that SCarolina will
Probably have an impact. Hope not🤞🤞
Stay safe everyone!

Are you saying you didn't get your studio? If that is the case hopefully you can get it by waitlist. Good Luck!

Shouldn't be any worries of a closure as the resort is well-equipped to ride out storms, and this one will cross over a great deal of land before getting anywhere near HHI thus dissipating some of its energy. That being said, having worked there for two years, I can tell you that with a substantial rain the walkways around the resort will be flooded in several places, most especially the buildings closer to the pool. The worst area was on the far side of the pool in and around buildings 26 through 29. pirate:

However, they had one hurricane, close to 10 years ago, that significantly damaged the resort, as well as the entire island. It knocked down so many trees that at least one golf course was closed down afterwards and became a staging area for all the knocked down trees around the island. The front desk used to keep a photograph album to show the damage. Ask them if you're interested in seeing it. It was Hurricane Matthew.

We were evacuated from Matthew in October 2016. We went back that December, and the damage was unreal. Not just trees still down everywhere, but sailboats just picked up and thrown like toys.

My cousin just arrived in HHI on Friday and left today just to be safe. I'm hoping that HHI doesn't get any damage and that everyone there stays safe!

I hope so too! Were planning to arrive in HHI on the 17th, so I’m watching very carefully!

We will be at HHIR next week (go away Debbie!). Two of my kids want to know if they can bring their own paddle boards and launch from the point down by building 30. Anyone know if this is not ok?

Safest idea is to call the front desk directly and ask them. (843) 341-4150

We are going first time next year ( new HHI owners :-) )

Is there a refill station at the beach for the resort mugs?

Thanks

Hello! Does anyone know if Disney has the insect repellent lotion at the pools? They have this in Vero Beach and it's fabulous for the bugs. Thanks!

No, though you can get some at the Mercantile. The bugs at HHI aren't as bad as those at VB, either.
thanks

the beach house restaurant closes at 3 pm. is the refill station open after the bar close?
Good question--not sure about that. However, I'm fairly certain they lock the doors to Signals once food prep is shut down. Perhaps someone else can clarify this point. If not, I always recommend calling HHI direct to get the answer from the Mouse's mouth, so to speak: (843) 341-4150.

@DigitalOlli

Signals was open today 11 am to 4 pm. Sorry I refilled our mugs at around 3:45 pm. However the doors were open to the little seating area that has the drink machine but the windows were pulled down for Signals around 10 am when we drove over.
