Has anyone eaten at Dye's Gullah Fixins or Catfish and Cornbread LATELY? We will be at HHI in less than two weeks and I'm considering one of these two one night. We've eaten at both, but I'm just wondering if anyone has eaten at either in the last six months or so and how where they? Our other choices, which we are pretty much set on - San Miguels (our first night tradition), Salty Dog and Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House in Savannah. Plus one night we're going to cook some shrimp ourselves. Thanks for any input.

In my opinion Dye's is always good. One thing to note howeve,r and this is a change...she no longer takes credit cards....it is cash only.

She has been talking about making some changes to her business, moving to a smaller location in Coligny, but I don't know when this is scheduled to take place. As far as I know she is open and it is business as usual!

If you do get there, tell her Linda and Lisa said hello!

We ate at Roastfish and Cornbread last Thanksgiving week. Excellent, as usual. I'd never had their sweet potato fries, but my mouth waters thinking of how delicious they were in November. We also ate at Salty Dog that trip. I thought the menu prices had gotten lots more expensive and the menu was more formal and expensive, hardly any sandwich-type food. I heard they have a new manager and the menu changes were his idea.

We ate @ Roastfish & Cornbread 2 weeks ago, wife and I are both from the New Orleans area originally and the seafood at Cornbread matched the best we ever had anywhere in New Orleans. I will not go back to HHI without at leadt 1 visit to R & C. Charlie :woohoo:
