We are going to HHI for the weekend next week and are looking for some dining suggestions. Any thoughts from those who have visited HHI?

Yes, we can, but could you give us a little more information? Are you looking for seafood, typical lowcountry food, upscale, with a view, pizza, etc? Oh, and does it need to be kid friendly? You will get many suggestions here. They can help you when you check in as well. Also, there's a currently active thread on the DVC Resorts forum - Where to eat on HHI - that might be really helpful to you.

And in addition to eating out, we often get food at local supermarkets (the deli section has complete meals and there's a salad bar, soups). Or if you like to grill, there are grills at the resort.

Skull Creek Boathouse. Our favorite.
Guiseppes for pizza, pasta
One Hot Mammas for BBQ
Roastfish and Cornbread for seafood and amazing low country cooking.

It will be me, DW and DS (7), so place needs to be kid friendly. We are not big seafood eaters, but we are open to just about anything else. Thanks!

Here's a link to another currently active thread on the same subject (it's just on the DVC Resorts board not Mousecellaneous board). There are a couple of pizza joints discussed + several other types of food (ie One Hot Mamas always gets a lot of mentions for good BBQ).

We like the Smokehouse for bbq; Mellow Mushroom for pizza and sandwiches; Alexander's in Palmetto Dunes; the Old Oyster Factory which has things other than seafood; Santa Fe Cafe; the British Pub in Wexford; Captain Woody's at Palmetto Bay Marina. There are lots of casual restaurants down around Coligny Circle. We did not have a good experience at One Hot Mamma's although I know it has many friends here. I would also suggest you go back into Sea Pines and head to South Beach and to Harbour Town. Have a good trip!
