what do you think would be available? Dh is planning a trip in March of 2010 with his childhood buddies, they are all turning th big 5-0 in March.

DH thinks that all 3 of them will need a GV:scared1: ..okkk...I think they would be fine in a 2 bdr. Anyway...anyone have any input?

Also, if anyone has a link to Golf info etc, that would be great too! Thanks:)

I'm subscribing to this because we're actually thinking about doing the same in March of 2010 as well, only with family members! It will be DH and I, my mother and grandparents and I know we'll need a grand villa!

Also, how is the weather usually at the end of March? Is it good beach swimming weather?

End of March avg High is about 70/ low 49.

As for golf. Try lmteetimes.com. It is a last minute tee time clearing house for several courses in the HHI area. The don't miss course is Hilton Head National, which is located just off the island. Twenty seven holes and not one house or condo to be seen. Some of my other favorites are the Golden Bear at Indigo Run and Crescent Point.

What kind of times do you get with that? Usually early ones available or later in the day? DH really prefers to golf early in the day-he'd rather get up for a 7:00 tee time, then wait for 9:30-10:00, even if it costs more.

Thanks for the golf info....

So..will we have a tough time getting a 2 bdr at 7 mths here? Or should I add on??!! lol

I did a golf outing with 4 friends last February. We had a GV and it was worth it. I didn't have any problems booking this. We stayed local with the golfing and played the three courses that are across from the complex, Palmetto Dunes. The Robert Trent Jones course has a hole that sits out near the beach and from the green you can see the ocean.

Thanks for the replies...know we have a long time...lol...just worried abt him planning this big trip...and then finding out he couldnt get what he wanted!

I was able to book a 2BR for Easter week just 7 months in advance.....I did call first thing in the morning and booked day-by-day. I didn't try for a GV though.

The busy season for HHI is June, July & August. I don't think you'll have much of a problem for March as long as you call at the 7 month mark.

HHI is a great trip to take with friends. We are taking friends this June! We did two one bedroom villas for our group. Now, we did add on at HHI so we could get the 11 month advantage but we like going there in the summer months. :)

Since DH doesnt read here...I think I should tell him the consensus is that we should buy a small add on at HHI to make sure he gets a room.....lol...just kidding!!

Thanks all!

We can usually get early times, we always go the end of September and 7:00AM is about as early as you can start and we've gone off then several times. BTW the website is good for letting you know the pricing and courses available. If there is no price next to the course name it is no longer available. Unfortunately several courses have been dropped in recent years. To use the service you call at 7:00PM get reservations for the following day. It is a left over tee time clearing house. THe phone is often busy at 7:00 but just keep trying, it is worth it.

I agree, I love the RTR course at Palmetto Dunes, unfortunately they are no longer available thru last minute tee times so we choose to play the other courses that are just as nice for less $$.

We have a ressie for a 2 bedroom for March 15th to March 21st next month. Booked it at seven months with no problem and this year it corresponds to the week before Easter checking out on Good Friday.
