HH in December?

My DW and I will be driving to WDW from PA in December. We're flying our kids and their families out of Philly on 12/21 and back on 12/27. "Mae Mae" (my DW) and I ("Pop Pop") have arranged for a 3 bedroom GV for the family at our home resort, SSR, plus the ME, and the DDP. The roadtrip for "Mae Mae" and I will start a couple of days before the kids depart. We'll drive straight through to HH for two nights, and then on to SSR to meet the rest of the family on the 21st. That said:

How is HH in December that close to Christmas? My DW and I are looking for some fun quiet time together before we hit the Christmas crowds in WDW. We might be Mae Mae and Pop Pop but we ain't dead yet! After 33 years with the same woman, our alone time is what kept us together through all the hard times. How is the weather that time of the year? Can you suggest something romantic for the two of us? Thanks for you replies...

Although we've been in HHI a few times in December, it's been right at the beginning, when Thanksgiving is very late in November (this year is one such year). The weather around then tends to be very variable, one year it was literally icing and in the low 30s, another year it was sunny and in the 80s. But since cold weather is more the norm, for something romantic may I suggest you just stay in, snuggle up, perhaps spend some time in front of the fire in Big Murgie's Den, splurge for a 1 BR-there IS a big tub. The Christmas decorations around the resort are beautiful-

I agree with Simba's Mom. Temps can be all over the place that time of year. Unless it's a winter like last year, BRRR!!!! I live 4 hours up the coast from HHI but I do love to visit. It's a beautiful area. DH and I just snagged a studio for the first weekend in October
