HH Experts: What to do for 6 days!!!

Savannah is much closer and makes a better day trip. I personally feel Charleston is too far for a day trip. Both are wonderful cities though and definitely worth a visit.

Shopping, dining, horseback riding on the beach, dolphin tours, golf, minature golf, biking, and just relaxing.

I would also recomment Beauford and it's even closer than Savannah.

The spring issue of Vacation Magic (the last one we received) had a nice article about Disney's Hilton Head Island and things to do in Charleston and Savannah. If you don't have it, you can read it on the member website.

That is correct. You can really do it in tops 2.5 hours--traffic moves very fast on SC highways; the complete opposite of the traffic flow in the cities and towns LOL!
Just wanted to say, when we visited Charleston, 2 weeks ago, we did NOT make this as part of a trip to HH. I was only responding to another post that said Charleston and Savannah were nice places to visit. I was just jumping in with our very positive review of Charleston and what a wonderful place it is to visit. I can't speak from experience to the feasiblity of going to Charleston from HH, but I can say that if you ever get a chance to visit Charleston--go for it! You will not be sorry!!

Allison,

I am unsure how old you are but there are plenty of things to do with 6 days at HH. If your interested in Tennis, then I recommend taking a few tennis clinics at Palmetto Dunes. They have a wonderful program for all levels of players including beginners and childrens levels.

Savannah, Beaufort and Charleston are great day trips. Savannah and Charleston are all day type trips.

If you go to Savannah consider visiting Ft. Pulaski. It is a historical civil war fort that provides a beautiful vista and an interesting tale. The might 8th air force museum is another interesting site for the history of the this air group in WW2.

In Charleston, we have visited the Battery and Patriots Pointe Naval Museum. Patriot point has the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier and a submarine, destroyer and a nuclear merchant ship.

Beaufort is a neat historic town that had Forest Gump filmed in it and has alot of fun antique shops

On HH consider the Dolphin excursions at shelter cove. I personally did not enjoy Harbour Town. I found it stuffy and touristy. The Oyster house restaurant is fabulous.

When we go we enjoy doing the simple things walking around the marina, strolling on the beach, grilling a steak on the point of shelter cove while watching the boats we cant afford come in the harbor sipping a margarita.

The best part of the resort is that it is like staying Disney without having to go to the park. Just be sure to put up the do not disturb sign.....Housekeeping will drive you nuts !

Have Fun
