OMG - I love that show too! He is such a goofball. I really like the special he does on the Epcot Flower & Garden show every year. It cracks me up too when his dog is running around the yard behind him like the cameras are no big deal.
We don't get it anymore since DH cancelled the extra cable channels. He really, really, wants a satellite dish...... He was hoping that cancelling the cable would make that happen. Not yet!
The show is filmed here in Tulsa -- I actually got to meet him once. Our HS band (which my DS is a member of) was desperately trying to raise funds to go to Calif and march in the Rose Bowl parade. He heard about it, made a donation personally. Of course, HGTV was filming the event -- but still a nice thing for him to do!
Yep -- He's from Tulsa, and the entire show is filmed here, too. Lots of folks surprised by this. I guess there is a misconception about OK as some dry, dusty bootheel of a place -- but the Eastern half of the state is actually quite hilly and lush.
I know that Paul James has given some hints to where he lives before but what threw me off was he said Ex-President Fords' daughter (I guess Susan) lives near by. This has been a few years ago but I did not think she lived in OK. I thought she lived in CO.
I am glad he is truly a nice guy. You always hope "famous" people are the same in real life as they portray but you never know.
My Sister lives in Tulsa as well. They moved from Dallas and love the lifestyle there. She is a Dr. at St. Francis and lives so close she can practically walk to work. In Dallas no way that would happen.
I'm from TX originally -- lived in Denton (not far from Flower Mound) till I was 3, then moved down south to the hill country. Sister lives lives in Allen --
Susan Ford used to live here -- married some wealthy someone from an old oil money family. I don't *think* they live here anymore, but then, I haven't kept up with the millionare crowd lately
Tulsa's not bad -- it has its good point and bad points. The worst thing about is it's NOT TEXAS!
Yay2001 - OK and TX both have their good sides. I am glad we do not have a state tax, but I hear the other taxes more than make up for it.
justjulie- I know that "Gardening by the Yard" comes on here Saturday and Sunday mornings at 9:00 cst. The website has the schedule I think. hgtv.com
I think it is the most complete gradening show on TV and it is very entertaining as well.
