HGTV's David Bromstad....!

I guess there are advantages to not having cable TV.
I missed the guy who doesn't know how to dress!

I watched about 90 seconds of the show.

He was too much, even for me!
I recorded the show and was looking forward to watching it until I heard that hideous voice at the very start. After I saw who it was...I hit the ole DELETE button.

I guess HGTV thinks everyone loves him as much as he loves himself.

I watched it and liked it, but I agree David the host was over the top! In general I like him because I think he comes off as a really nice guy (on his HGTV show where he redecorates/paints).

But goodness. That tie was painfully bad. And he kept saying everything was "inSANE" which was driving ME insane!

I got the impression he was underprepared and wasn't really able to go off-the-cuff, which is maybe why he kept resorting to effusiveness!

:sunny:

i guess because he worked for disney, they thought it was a good match. but NO!! I agree, I could barely make it through the show. I felt bad for the poor lady that is the manager of holiday services. Imagine how she felt? :confused3:rotfl:

Cougars and my fellow Friends of Dorothy,

What do we do when we see a beautiful man that has no vocabulary on TV? We mute the TV and just enjoy the scenery. Yes, he's a Himbo, but he needs objectification too!!!

I mean, was there dialogue on the old Voyagers TV show or Baywatch or Melrose Place? I could not tell you, but that did not stop me from watching them.

?!?!?!? my god woman how do you survive:)

Spend time (too much time) on DISboards.

No! That's not it at all! No cable TV so I read lots of books. yeah, that's it.

I DVR'd the show and watched it last night. I now know that I would never want to see David's main show. Ugh, he got annoying.

I was wishing I had tequila and a shot glass. I could've had a nice buzz if I took a shot every time he said Awesome. And probably a hang over today too. :rotfl2:

Besides all the annoying things already mentioned, he also constantly referred to Disney in the third person..."they do everything big." He was talking to Disney right there! The host lady, the guy in charge of planting all the poinsettias... He should have said, YOU do everything big, or whatever the topic was. And yes, what a voice, ick. We watched it last night as a family and every single kid had a comment on how weird he was to them. I love all the holiday Disney shows, but I'm not sure I could stomach that again.

I'm watching for a second time on demand...yes, he is 'expressive', get over it, it's a great behind the scene show, he obviously has a script he has to follow, and the great content of the show is worth any minor annoyance you might find in the host. Personally, I think it was great and if you don't watch the entire show, you need to! (somebody dressed him like that, no fashion conscious diva would dress like that if he had a choice, it wasn't THAT bad!) I hope you allow the Disney fan in you to enjoy the show!:santa:

I actually think the problem was that he didn't have a script. I can't quite imagine someone writing "Awesome" and "Disney does it big!" pver and over again in a script and have it get past editing.

I watched the show and really enjoyed the behind the scenes stuff. My spouse and I were laughing at how annoyed the Disney CM was getting with him.

You're right, maybe no script was the problem!

Could anyone convince you to wear a skinny, black, sequined tie with a red, plaid, short-sleeved, untucked, button-down shirt?

I dont know anyone that can pull off "New Wave farm hand".

"That's inSANE".

LOL, new wave farm hand, LOVE IT! It was horrible, they must pay him a lot, I thought he needed some coverage for his 'headlights' too with the blue shirt, but he has nice biceps! Still loved the show itself!

Guess I will have to change my outfit for the TSMM Party...don't want to be ridiculed as trying to pull of the Farmville Chic look....

Same here. I've loved David since seeing him on Design Star. I loved the show, and anyone else I know that watched it loved it also. I didn't realize people didn't like him until hearing the podcast & then reading here. :confused3

Me too.

I for one DESPISE with every being of my body Guy Fieri. I don't understand how he won Next Food Network Star, why he's still on TV, or even why people like him. I wish he would disappear.

I'm sure he is a nice enough guy, but I don't think I would ever want to spend time with him and would rather never have to listen to him again.
