Hey! You had your trip, this time I'm in charge! Nicki & Todd LIVE!! Completed :(

Great reviews! Nothing beats starting the day with breakfast at Main Street Bakery. I love the banter between the two of you and yay on seeing Boys 2 Men - I think they are great! :thumbsup2

Are you TRYING to remind me how much of an age difference there is between us with these people you keep going to hear????? As if I don't feel old enough to almost be your mother. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Todd, Todd, Toddleduck! When are you going to learn???? You do NOT like the cinnamon rolls at the Main Street Bakery. Nicki, I like your idea...just order for him. ;)

hmmm first pic of the claw cuddler i've seen.... but looks like you get way more with the lobster roll (if i could get them to make it sans mayo!)

even -I- know that todd doesn't like those cinnamon rolls, lol!! i remember these things!!

i'm excited for you to go to shula's tonight!! go for the crab cake!!

Ahhh.....the pumpkin cupcake again!!! Save one for me!!! And, um..............that board of wonderful drinks...with coffee....yes I hear it...it's calling my name!!!!! LOL I'm coming I promise! :rotfl2:

Sorry I'm a little late on this post buttttt... you can easily make an almost EPCOT/France grey goose slushy like this:
Grey Goose Citron 1 shot per drink plus a little more ;)
Fresh squeezed lemonade (you can use simply lemonade too) :thumbsup2
add lots of ice and blend alot..I love my sisters bullet it make the best frozen drinks!
I have also used crystal light packs mixed with water but it doesn't have that yum factor! The CM say use sweet & sour I say yucko and all that syrupy sugar eww.
Anyhow enjoy! And drink one for me at EPCOT while you are there!
Micky

On our way to Soarin we finally connected with TigerKat (Kathy and Johnny) and chatted for a while and agreed to meet up another day so we could have more time to sit and chat. They are the most incredible people and I feel like we have known each other for years!

Capt Cooks new menu

oct24026.jpg

I've never had the opportunity to meet Kat in person (hoping to change that ASAP!!! ) But I already know that we are Soul sisters!!!!!:hug::hug: SOOO glad you got to meet her!!

& I hope they still have my turkey club on the Capt. cooks menu!!!

Wonderful pictures and reviews as ususal! Don't you love proving Todd wrong about the cinnamon roll from MSB!!!!! :rotfl2: I have a question about the Mickey shaped pretzels. Probably a silly question but do they taste the same as the standard pretzels???? Not that I'm a pretzel snob but near us (Shipshewana) they make the best pretzels. They aren't the standard pretzel you get at a ballpark, amusement park, etc. They are more like Auntie Anne's. Ok, enough about pretzels, I'm making myself hungry. Have a great Wednesday!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Lynn! DH said the pretzels taste just like any other pretzel in WDW, nothing like Auntie Annes or Wetzels, those are more buttery and the WDW ones are drier

The commentary between the two of you is just priceless! I love reading it. Haha, he shouldn't doubt you on stuff like that cinnamon bun! I have to say your everything bagel looks really good, I LOVE everything bagels! I really wish I had one right now lol. Guess what I'm adding to my shopping list for tomorrow...

LOL, he is making me nuts :rotfl: He now knows never to doubt me on the cinnamon bun again. Everything bagels are our favorite, I eat the top part with all the goodies and he eats the bottom

That sucks about the Empanada! They were just perfect when I had one on the 14th.

Well if I don't run to you tomorrow, I will definitely see you in less than 48 hours at the Slushie meet (if you and Todd left any for the rest of us....although since you're addicted to the sangria, we may be safe!).:rotfl:

I hope to try it again, maybe I had a bad batch. Cannot wait to see you tomorrow!

Loving your reports Nicki . Because of your love of all things pumpkin and your love of "adult" beverages, I think you would really like something that a friend of ours brought over the other night. It's called Fulton's Harvest Pumpkin Pie Cream Liquor: http://ei.isnooth.com/wine/Fulton-s-Harvest-Pumpkin-Pie-Cream-Liqueur.2_5_3.wine_5655037_detail.jpeg .It is like drinking a pumpkin pie. OK, that sounds kinda gross :rolleyes1, but it is really tasty :thumbsup2.

Ok thats it, I am running to the liquor store the minute I get home...that sounds incredible!

Thanks for more reviews, Nicki!

It's a shame you didn't get Ron ...... we have never been denied a request there, but some times it involves intensive waiting! :rotfl2:

Guess what, when you mentioned the MSB I thought about Todd not liking the Cinnamon roll and was LOL when he DID ask for it ..... MEN, very predictable! :lmao:

Glad you enjoy it so far ...... I sure enjoy "coming along". :cloud9:

Wish you and Tom were here to live it up with us! Basically everyone on the Dis knows he doesnt like those buns except for him :lmao:

Hiya. Nicki!

Can't believe I made this one while it is still live! Loving it!

Hi Jamie! How are you feeling?

Good Morning Nicki!

Add me to the list who remembered about Todd and the cinnamon buns at MSB! Well, maybe this was the last straw and he'll remember next time! :rotfl:

I'm often looking for a good salad in the World, after all the junk I eat down there. Thanks for the tip about the pre-made chicken salad at the BW Bakery. I will definitely keep that in mind! (Even though I didn't get to see a picture of it ;))

Bummer that you got a lousy empanada. I LOVE those things, and the one I got earlier in the month was very good. If you haven't tried it yet, the beef with chimichurri sauce and boniato puree is delicious too! Those are the two offerings that I never skip!

Hope you have a great day today!

Maybe he has food amnesia :confused3 For a packaged salad it was very tasty and fresh, I would get it again for sure! I love empanadas too, this one was icky though, hope to try the beef tomorrow.

I have to say I love love love your reviews, and you two remind me of how my bf and I act with each other...we're a snarky sarcastic goofy couple :lovestruc

Thank you so much for sharing...I hope November 2012 gets here soon, I can't freaking wait! :yay::yay:

Thanks Jen! Some people that eavesdrop on us must thing I am a witch to him  Wish I was going in November too, love Xmas in WDW

I am loving your reviews, you have me LOLing and my DH is looking at me like I have lost my mind. We too, have almost the same banter as you and Todd, my kids love it and ask whats wrong when we don't do it....lol. Enjoy the rest of your vacaction, as I can't wait to read all about it.

Thats funny....I guess after so many years we have our patterns and ways to joking with each other..and getting under each others skin :rotfl2:

I agree! MSB is great, especially when there is no waiting! DH said his ears are still ringing from the concert :rotfl:

Are you TRYING to remind me how much of an age difference there is between us with these people you keep going to hear????? As if I don't feel old enough to almost be your mother. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Todd, Todd, Toddleduck! When are you going to learn???? You do NOT like the cinnamon rolls at the Main Street Bakery. Nicki, I like your idea...just order for him. ;)

Oh come one, you are so young! I dont think he will ever learn! Hope you are feeling better and will take tomorrow off!

hmmm first pic of the claw cuddler i've seen.... but looks like you get way more with the lobster roll (if i could get them to make it sans mayo!)

even -I- know that todd doesn't like those cinnamon rolls, lol!! i remember these things!!

i'm excited for you to go to shula's tonight!! go for the crab cake!!

Have not tried the lobster roll yet, hope to do that before we leave though..being from New England I am very hard on lobster rolls, I have been spoiled and had the best.

Shula's in just 2 hours, cannot wait!

Ahhh.....the pumpkin cupcake again!!! Save one for me!!! And, um..............that board of wonderful drinks...with coffee....yes I hear it...it's calling my name!!!!! LOL I'm coming I promise! :rotfl2:

Oh it was excellent, this time I had a bite and a half!

Micky, thanks so much for this....going to make it when I get home!

She is a doll and we loved Johnny too! Tried to get together with them again today but they didnt make it to Epcot...but tomorrow we have the Slushie Throwdown at France and I know they will be there

Thanks for sharing all of your reviews! I swear by your Trip Reports. Anywhere we eat at Disney is usually followed by "MickeyNicki says it is great!" So glad you got to see Boyz II Men. We were at FW 3 years ago and saw them when I was 8 months pregnant and with my 19 month old. She LOVED the show, dancing on the bench the entire time! Enjoy the rest of your trip.

OMG, i have to leave work now but i LOVED reading your dining report so far! you did such a good job on detail and i loved the conversations you and dh had. we were thinking about heading over to the poly one day for lunch so i'm glad you posted that menu. i never knew the contempo had the cupcakes. i can't wait to read more in the morning!!

I told Abby to give her a hug from me... feel free to tackle her yourself!!! & please have a toast for all the friendies who can't be there with you!!!

The bagel was very tasty and the cinnamon bun, well I didnt eat it but according to Forgetful Jones he said the very small inner middle was soft but the rest was hard and almost crunch and the gooey mess all over the top? It was very sweet and sugary and not buttery or cinnamony like he prefers.

I love MSB and plan on eating there...maybe I will just make him grab a seat while I do all the ordering! :rotfl:

I tried the cinnamon bun for the first time last week. It looked so nice and gooey. But just like his, the ends were crunchy, only the inside was soft. I love the sweet gooey-ness. But the crunch, didn't cut it for me.

I think I will skip the empanada and the claw. We did eat the fisherman's pie from Ireland and that was excellent!!!

Stopped at the coffee stand by the entrance to the countries for a diet coke and I took these pictures

Which country is this near? Mexico or Canada? Or the IG? The Tea Breeze looks like a winner for me. My favorite drink is a Drunk Arnold Palmer. Sweet tea vodka and lemonade!

:sick:, but thanks for asking! I tried to go back to work on Monday and they sent me home.....I am very frustrated by the whole thing, so I appreciate reading about you and Todd even more! Yay Dis-escapism! (side effect? You end up baking...)

Thanks for reading! I do the same thing, tell DH so and so said this and that place was good and we should try this place...the reviews have really helped me out!

Glad you are enjoying them! We love the Poly, wish we had time to eat at Capt Cooks this trip.

Will do!

Its so sad because MSB used to have the best cinny buns but not anymore :sad2:

Closest to Mexico but they also have one in England and one nex to Universe of Energy

I wish you were doing better, I will send you loads of good thoughts and pixie dust so you are back to your old self in no time!

Just got in from the jacuzzi, it was great..we could hear the Boyz II Men concert out there and we were all by ourselves, perfect way to end a night!

Last night DH was checking emails and had to do some catch up at work and take a conference call this afternoon

Todd - We have to stay in tomorrow, at least until 3

Me - You are funny..you mean YOU have to stay in tomorrow, I'm outta here!

Todd - You mean to tell me you would go to a park without me?

Me - Honey, in a New York minute!

Todd - I'm crushed

Me - Get over it!

Todd - Its for the best, if you stay in the room you will be very antsy and drive me crazy

Me - (batting my eyes and smirking) Who me?

The plan was to have a nice breakfast and skip lunch since we were going to Shula's. My thought was to go to Kouzzina, my better half had another brainiac moment

Todd - Lets go to Cape May

Me - Ugh, another big breakfast?

Todd - I am so sick of eating at the BWI bakery

Me - You are nuts, we ate there like twice!

Todd - Come on, it'll be great!

Me - We will never get in

Todd - Yeah we will, its not that busy around here and if we get turned away we can go to Kouzzina, deal?

Me - Ok deal

So Cape May was very tasty.....uh huh, we got it, no waiting but a bit of gloating

Before I start on the breakfast review I had to share this picture from the BC marketplace..these are ceramic mugs with little cupcakes in them...dont know how much they are but they are cute!

Oct27001.jpg

We were seated right away, no waiting, to a little booth right by the buffet. It was pretty busy in there but not packed if you know what I mean. We both had coffee and OJ and I did get soy milk for my coffee, in fact at every TS that we have been to and had coffee I was able to get a little soy milk at no charge....dont know if I mentioned that or not.

Todd had oatmeal and this one was different as it was made with cranberries. Normally they have a do it yourself oatmeal with brown sugar, raisins and nuts etc but not this time. He loved this, it was nice and sweet and very creamy

Oct27004.jpg

My plate, pretty simple, a sausage link, scrambled eggs, potatoes, croissant and butter. Everything was very good and I had seconds of this and some fruit, filled me up all day. Those eggs, I swear I could eat them all day every day and be happy!

Oct27003.jpg

Todd's plate is a mess...lets see if I can figure it out. Scrambled eggs, bacon, cinnamon bun, blueberry bread, banana bread, biscuits and gravy and a scoop of bacon egg and gruyere cheese bake. He really enjoyed everything and had seconds of the banana bread, had a bagel and lots of fruit

Oct27002.jpg

After our first plates we went up to get some more stuff...when we returned to our table the waiter cleared everything away. He apologized, thought we left and didnt pay. Dude, we were gone for like 2 minutes, my coffee was still full and hot and I left my napkin on my seat...he was quick to reset the table and bring more drinks.

The characters were cute as always but they quickly moved on to the kids and that was fine with us.

So glad we were able to eat here, we both enjoyed it very much and it kept us full all day so we were able to enjoy our dinner.

Coming up are more buffet pictures, lots of new items from our last meal here...just wish I could eat them - way to much cheese in the new items

And can someone please tell me when the cost went up to $25 a person??? OMG I had sticker shock, we used to pay $18 each

Nicki, your reviews are the best!! :worship: I am enjoying every bite with you both- and laughing and laughing at the Bickersons- you are a fantastic couple! I really want to thank-you (from my family and me)- I made your crock pot salsa beef today- YUMMYLICIOUS!!!:thumbsup2

After breakfast Todd went back to the BWI and worked and took calls while I went to Epcot and played around. It was very quiet until 1 and then the crowds were out.

I was walking through Morocco around 2, going back to the room, when there were 2 couples right behind me and I heard one woman telling the rest of them " there is this guy on the Dis board that is a snackaholic, he can eat breakfast and right away want a snack, he must eat 5 snacks a day, can you believe that?" I was laughing on the inside because I think she was talking about my husband but I kept on walking and didnt say a word :rotfl:

Back at the room DH was watching tv...

Todd - Did you bring me a snack?

Yup, that woman was totally talking about him!

Todd - When are we eating? I'm starved!

Me - At 6:30 unless you want to try and get in earlier

Todd - Good idea, lets go

Me - Babe, its 3pm....

We started the walk to the Dolphin at 5 and they sat us as soon as we arrived, we were the first ones in the restaurant and that was nice, I knew I could take pictures and not bother anyone.

The restaurant is gorgeous, nice and cool and dark and the service is amazing, the best we have ever had at WDW. I started with a blueberry martini and DH had the pineapple mojito, both drinks were out of this world, the aroma from the blueberry drink was intoxicating on its own! We also had a bottle of Voss water.

Oct27046.jpg

Oct27045.jpg

Oct27047.jpg

Bread was piping hot sour dough and soft butter...amazing! Best bread and butter ever!

Oct27049.jpg

The "meat tray" was sitting on both sides of us..they have two carts and we happened to be sandwiched right between them

Oct27051.jpg

Todd had, big suprise here, a casear salad. He was very disappointed in this. The lettuce tasted like iceberg, the dressing was more like a salty ranch than a caesar dressing and it was very wilted...he expected alot more from a steakhouse. He wished he had the tomato salad...oh well, next time

Oct27052.jpg

I had the crab cake, it was very good but very filling. The roumalade that went with it really added to the taste of the cake. Very little filler, mostly shredded crab, very few large crab pieces. Next time I will try the basil BBQ shrimp

Oct27053.jpg

I told DH he could pick the sides so he went with the potato pancake since it didnt have any dairy and the sauteed mushrooms. Let me just say that the potatoes were not necessary...it was a huge portion and the flavor was just greasy and weird. The mushrooms on the other hand, holy crow these were great! Very tender and full of wine and garlic flavor...we ate all of them

Oct27055.jpg

Todd had the NY Strip cooked med well..this sucker was humongous, the picture doesnt begin to tell you how large it was. They had him cut it open to make sure it was cooked to his liking and it was. He devoured it, ate the entire thing. Said it was the best steak he has ever had in his lifetime! So I guess it was good? Sucker was so tender and so juicy, I liked it too!

Oct27054.jpg

I had the filet with bernaise sauce, cooked med rare. I had to cut mine open too, make sure it was cooked right...oh man was it ever! So tender I didnt need a knife, melted right on my tongue...hands down the best filet in WDW, problem was the portion was so huge I could not finish it

Oct27056.jpg

While we were waiting on the dessert, you have to preorder the apple crisp, chocolate souffle and chocolate lava cake, we talked about our meal. Shula's is now a must do for us and we already know how to order for the next time...share the tomato salad and the mushrooms and get 2 steaks...no more than that or you will be too full.

Coffee for both of us, very good and rich and then came dessert, the chocolate souffle served with Haagan Daaz Vanilla ice cream, creme anglaise and housemade whipped cream, everything served separately. The souffle was so good, very light and chocolatey...I scooped some out and ate it so Todd could smother the rest of it in the dairy stuff...this is his very favorite dessert so he was a happy puppy

Oct27057.jpg

Todd - I am officially full

Me - I'll alert the media

Walked back to the BWI, watched the performers and soaked in the hot tub...great night!

Tomorrow the plan is to sleep in and go to Epcot..YES AGAIN! We have a Dis meet and slushies are involved!
