Hey! You had your trip, this time I'm in charge! Nicki & Todd LIVE!! Completed :(

I know, right? Two jobs, a wedding and a household to keep up with is nothing  Luckily Jiminy Cricket is rapidly moving across my ticker and I'll be there soon!!

I <3 your converstations, lol. I picture them to be similar to ours, lol. This trip, we had a choice between Yachtsman and Shula's :( I wanted both, but there just wasn't time. We went with Shula's, then I'll take my stepmom to Yachtsman in May I guess. I act like I'm never going back :lmao: I'm craving Shula's crab cake--I know we made the right decision!!

The part about CS breakfasts made me laugh  I had considered (for budget reasons) that we drop some TS lunches and do a few CS. He said we might as well pack a loaf of bread and lunch meat and eat it in the GF lobby. This was in a tone implying that he didn't like the idea. I told him that there are lots of CS that we like--EoS, Cantina, Casey's... Our men are so spoiled!! I Lol'd at the "No Press Pot Coffee?" Too funny!!

The next 4 weeks will fly by and then you can relax - a little! I always act like we are never going back to...we have to do it all now is my motto!

I lol'd at the sandwiches in the lobby of the GF, that is too funny!

Too funny! Personally I hope you "wing it" to The Wave for breakfast because it is one that I am debating trying next year. Kouzzina was good and Kona's pulled pork eggs benedict is heaven on a plate!

I really want to hit those three places too!

Seriously? I mean, seriously? The man told me at dinner one night last week he didn't want to do any sit down breakfasts...he wanted a nice, relaxing trip and not have to get up early in the a.m.

Aha! A witness...so you see what the problem is? He cannot remember what he says! And people wonder why I am a bit nuts :rotfl2:

I can understand Todd's reasoning, which I'm shocked by! :lmao: We get up so early every day, having to get up even earlier than Rope Drop (which is for us, what we'd have to do) while on vacation just seems wrong. But, I love breakfast, so three mornings of our upcoming seven morning trip---that's what we'll do. I still get to try some great breakfasts, but don't have to run myself ragged doing it every morning.

For us, Kona and CP are a must (for the food and the empty Main Street experience).

I'm very much looking forward to your Kouzzina review. This trip we're giving Kouzzina another shot, although I must say I'm not looking forward to it. In 2009 we had breakfast here when we stayed at the Boardwalk and it was not good at all. The service was bad even though they were empty, the food was served barely warm and with a whole restaurant open they tried to put us (three adults) at a two-top with a chair on the end. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it was just an off morning and I know DH loved their sweet-potato hash, so hopefully it doesn't let us down.

Ahhh...we did book the Wave for our trip...I can't find anywhere definite verification that they are doing the buffet (as would be better for my kids) or not...and if so, pricing? Anyway, we will be staying at the Poly so we are doing Kona for the first time also! So, if you get there, love to hear about both / either! Breakfast is our whole fam's fav meal...so it is a must for us almost every day. I scheduled them late morning though. That way we can get to the parks for an hour or so...ride a couple rides, grab a fastpass or two and head to breakfast. That way, we get the low first thing crowds. After breakfast, we will most likely head back to swim / relax and let that food go right to our rear ends!! :rotfl2: It's our first time touring this way...so we will see how it works? Sorry to hijack! Just thinking out loud!

PLEASE, ask for Ron! ...... and tell him the chocolate people sent you! :rotfl2:

What day of the week will you be eating at the CG? I know which days he is off! :rotfl2:
I wish I had been able to post our CG experience this year already - it was out of this world!

As for breakfast - hidden gem - try the Grand Floridian Cafe! Pain to park, I know, but I guess you have a TiW, so valet it!!!!!!!! Lobster eggs benedict for breakfast are to die for!
And I would strongy suggest you try The Wave. Tom and I do NOT like buffets, but we LOVE theirs - huge, very tasty looking, fresh - :cloud9: definitely. We have already agreed this will be our breakfast spot while at BLT!!!

They had the buffet last month. It's $18.49 and I thought it was great! There wasn't as much selection as at some of the other buffets, but the quality was outstanding.

Hey there! I maybe late to this party but I won't be late to F&W. Can't wait to see y'all!!!!:cool1::yay:

Now you've got me thinking about Shula's...we have one here in NOLA but we've never been...

Yay another Nicki & Todd Live report!!!!! Love reading your reports live. This one will be especially exciting as we will be coming down on the 27th thru the 31st. So, I will read your reports live until the 26th. I really don't get on the computer while we are down there. I mean we take the laptop with us, but I try not to touch it. My vacation away from it (only cuz I'm on it all the time at home! :rotfl:).

So, it would be fun if we were to run in to each other while there. The night of the 27th we are doing MNSSHP and then the rest of the time we will be mostly at EPCOT! We LOVE F&W Fest. Our favorite time of the year!

So, enjoy your trip and I can't wait to see what Todd is up to for this trip's dining pleasures! :goodvibes

I think it will depend on the weather too..in May it was blazing hot so we were up very early for RD and then we went back to the resort at noon for pool and nap time.

I am really looking forward to Kouzzina for both meals, I have been reading lots of reviews that report terrible service and long waits so that has me a bit worried.

Kona is incredible, the best breakfast for TS in my opinion! We did a walk up in May so I think we are going to go for that again. We love to relax at the pool, it is a vacation afterall so I dont want to be all commando

PLEASE, ask for Ron! ...... and tell him the chocolate people sent you! :rotfl2:

We will be at Cali Grill on Monday night...does Ron work then?

Loved GFC for breakfast, it is so quiet and relaxing there. I really want to try the Wave, it sounds incredible!

And your review has me dying to try it!

Party doesnt start for 5 more days and you can live it with me! :rotfl: Have you been to the WDW Shula's? Would you stick with that or go to Yachtsman?

Thats so great we will be there the same time! We are not doing the MNSSHP but maybe we will see each other at F&W? Todd better be on his very best behavior this time around, I dont care what he does for breakfast and lunch but he better leave my dinners alone! :rotfl2:

When we got down to a few weeks before our trip I find myself playing around with things, again, and tweaking times and checking park hours and Eat to the Beat concerts and I do a very dumb thing…I try to get my "fly by the seat of his pants" husband to sit down and try to hammer out an itinerary for our trip.

It was a stupid move on my part because he said, "we will decide when we get there"

I am not having that on my trip lol! So what is a girl to do? This is the most brilliant thing I have done….what is it you ask? Well I will tell you! Why I didn’t think of this sooner I have no idea.

I created a multiple choice chart and made it a day to day thing. He thinks he has the power to pick and choose what to do for the morning and afternoon but what he is missing out on is that I am the one that created the choices therefore I am still controlling the day!!!

For example…I break it down like this - each morning and afternoon has about 4-6 choices. Now there are many days where the choices are the same BUT there is a clause in this system…if you choose choice #1 on day # 1 you cannot pick it again on day #2 and so on and so forth. And I did a very smart thing, I concentrated on the food aspect, you know, because Todd is all about the food :lmao:

Morning
1. Get a bite at the BWI bakery and got to AK
2. Go to MK and get a bite at the MS bakery
3. Drive to the CR and walk in at The Wave
4. Room service

Afternoon
1. If we go to AK have lunch at Flame Tree
2. If we go to MK have lunch at Peco Bills, CHH try to walk in at the Plaza
3. If we do room service we can sit by the pool and have lunch at B&C
4. If we go to the Wave then drive to DTD and see a movie, have lunch at WPE, EoS etc

Dinner is already set in stone so he cannot mess with that, or he can try but I don’t think he will win!

It’s a win win sitution for me and he thinks he is in charge..but we all know better than that! He loves this idea and I do too because he can change things up on me but not by much! And of course, Sun-Thurs his only choices for the day is Epcot, Epcot and more Epcot HAHAHA!

So I presented him with this little chart and he loved it! What are the first words from his mouth?

DH - On Friday I want room service and on Saturday I want room service and on…

ME - Whoa whoa whoa there Charlie…you cannot pick the same choices each day

DH - Says who?

ME - Says the creator of the list that’s who!

DH - Ah, I have an in with her, she will cave

ME - What makes you think so?

DH - I have a paper that says she must obey (he is speaking of our marriage license!)

I think my plan has backfired and we are not even in WDW yet!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Oh, btw - Ron usually works Mondays!!!!!!! Ask for him, even if it means you have to wait a little, and tell him that the chocolate people sent you, and that his parcel is on the way! :lmao:

I LOVE the multiple choice chart idea!! :thumbsup2 Oh no on it backfiring already  Oh well you have 5 days to think up another plan or get DH on board with this one.

Tell him that marriage license goes both ways so he has to obey your rules about not picking the same thing every morning! :lmao:

Love the multiple choices! Do you guys drive to/ from parks and ADRs? I think it sounds much more doable if you aren't using WDW transport the whole time.

I promise to ask for him and tell him about the "Chocolate People"....you guys are so sweet you must be made of candy ;)

Thats true...although someone is made at me because he has 5 work days left and I just have 2 :rotfl2:

Tell him that marriage license goes both ways so he has to obey your rules about not picking the same thing every morning! :lmao:

I have tried that..for some reason it doesnt work when I say it :lmao:

I cannot believe it took me so long to come up with it...this is much easier than him asking me every single morning "So, what are we doing today" and then me running down the list of possibilities!

Sometimes we drive and sometimes we use the WDW transportation...if we go to AK we will drive but MK we will take bus.

Party doesnt start for 5 more days and you can live it with me! :rotfl: Have you been to the WDW Shula's? Would you stick with that or go to Yachtsman?

I'd stick with Shula's because we've never been there. We're trying Yachtsman again this trip but last time we were there I was underwhelmed.

Boy am I glad I have a husband who never questions the plans I spend months making! ;):surfweb: I think he understands that a mere piece of paper won't keep me from suffocating him with it :rotfl2: Love the choice chart though, I will fo sho be stealing that in the future, especially when kiddos get older & *think* they get a vote in plans

I was VERY impressed with that list when you showed it to me when we were "shopping." Todd was even impressed with it...he told me so. See, when we got married, I PURPOSELY kept the obey out of our vows...much easier that way. ;)

So far it looks we are sticking with Shula's. I hope you enjoy YM, we had a fab meal there in Feb

Did you happen to tell him that Friendies NEVER obey???? :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

I tell him that all the time!

I used to have a husband like that!

I am so glad he told you that! Now I have to make sure he sticks with it!

Funny enough, we did leave that part out of the vows! My aunt married us and I told her to make sure and skip that part :lmao:
