How can we forget? I had my toddler in his summer clothes, and we were at the playground all weekend! He was 21 months old, and it was his 1st all day romp at a playground.

March~~~~~~~~~Record high
27 52°F 31°F 41°F 81°F (1998) 16°F (1975)
28 52°F 32°F 42°F 84°F (1998) 17°F (1982)
29 52°F 32°F 42°F 78°F (1998) 14°F (1956)
30 52°F 32°F 42°F 83°F (1977) 20°F (1958)
31 53°F 32°F 43°F 87°F (1998) 21°F (1957)

We can only hope for it to happen again, as the next 10 days will struggle to get out of the 40's.....

My favorite New England weather experience was waking up in Storrs, CT, on April Fool's Day in 1997 to two feet of snow on the ground..... :rotfl: Mother Nature one-upped everybody that day.

I remember that storm!
We live on the Cape and lost power for 3 days and they cancelled school for I think two days!

For the April Fool's storm in 97 we had our 2 month old daughter home, and lost power for 3 days. We moved into the basment and fire up the wood stove for all 3 days. Kept a big pot of water warming on the top, adn cooked right on top of the stove for 3 days. It was kind of fun, in retrospect.

Well, I only lived in New England for a year and that was the 'strangest' weather I ever saw. In earlier years, I spent a lot of time in Northern Vermont and saw some great blizzards, but they weren't out of the ordinary.

I was back in Georgia by 1998, so I missed that storm. Being from here, I enjoyed the different climate. Then again, I didn't have to shovel snow or drive in it. I even tolerated the lack of air conditioning pretty well.

I will never forget the April Fool's storm. I was pregnant with twins and didn't want to break my record of never missing work because of snow. So I drove into my Boston hospital from the South Shore at 9pm (March 31). I swear I was just about the only car on Rt 3 that night (I do carry a Disaster Pass that allows me to be on the road as an Essential Employee). The highway was not plowed, and the snow was coming right at my windshield and I couldn't see. The scariest part was that there were no cars to follow and I could not see even where the bridge abutments were, visibilty was practically zero. I thought about turning around, but I couldn't see how to do so. So I just kept praying and driving in what was a very, very faint set of old tire tracks. Thank God for my Jeep. Luckily, by the time I got up to Braintree I could see the Hilltop sign and there were more cars on the road.

The next morning I was the only one who got to leave work and that was only because I had a doctor's note for no mandatory overtime. The entire day shift didn't show. It took me almost three hours to get home, there was only one lane open all the way down Rt 3. When I got home, I made it down my street, but my driveway had about 3 feet of snow in it. I was sooo tired, all I wanted to do was go to bed, I almost cried. So LOL, I backed up as best I could and drove as far as I could through the snow into my driveway. My rear end was sticking out onto the street so my neighbor came over and shoveled out the front a bit more. I trudged my way to the front door and that was when I completely lost it - the door wouldn't open because of the snow! :furious: GIVE ME MY BED waaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Yup, gotta love those New England snowstorms!

I was just thinking about that weather. I had my first baby March 24 (today is his party) and all the pictures from when we took him home from the hospital looked like summer! Everyone in their shorts and tee shirts. Of course, being a new mom I still bundled him up!!!

And of course in 96 we had the April fools blizzrd. Just no telling what you're going to get around here! Hopefully we'll get a SPRING this year and not just jump from 40 to 85!!!!!!!!

I was pregnant during that blizzard too. The whole city was fed up and in a foul mood over it. I remember DH putting his foot down, "no shoveling", and me going ballistic at him. "Who do you think you are...." The kid across the street was stuck in a snowbank, his Mom was yelling at him to quit fooling around and get in the house. "Mom! I'm stuck, I swear!"

The following year I remember going out shopping in a hurry, it was over 80º and I had no summer clothes that fit the infant or the 2-year-old.

I don't know which I hate more in March, surprise snowstorms or heat waves.

As long as it's in the 50's by April 17th (and the nights just a tad above freezing), I'll be very happy because I'll be able to make the move up to the lake.. Although it's been a pretty non-eventful winter here, craziness abounds in this household and I need a break!! :teeth:

I don't remember those records highs, but I certainly do remember the April Fools storm. I shudder just thinking about it.

I don't remember the record highs (I tend to block those miserable things from my memory ;) ) but I do remember the April fools storm. That was amazing :thumbsup2 I can only hope we get one of those again this year to make up for the lack of snow we've had the rest of the winter. I also remember snow mothers day weekend a few years ago. My stepdad was out deep sea fishing in that one :lmao:

We had a nice winter this year, to make up for the Spring we didn't have last year. That seems fair. :)
