Hey Mom, Check out my new Spider-Man move! (Last day & Final Thoughts - 1/10)

Wow, everything went according to plan! Nice!

I saw Shrek in 3D. Not that much a diff without it, so you're not missing out on much. Great movie though!

I love it when the plan works out! It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Thanks for that info. Turns out we're going to have to watch it in 3D. With the new movies this weekend, the theater stopped showing it in the regular form. Maybe I can get Coop to use the glasses this time. I doubt it though.

Hm...I know what you mean. I wanted to watch How to Train Your Dragon again in 2D, but they were only showing it in 3D, so I decided to just wait for the DVD. (BUT, I ended up watching it in 3D anyways.....)

Have you tried looking around to other nearby theatres to see if they're still showing Shrek in 2D? You never know.

Finding another theater is a good idea in theory. However, there aren't a lot of theaters showing current movies between my house and New Orleans - 45 minutes away.

The boys really enjoyed Shrek though. Cooper put his glasses on for a total of 5 minutes. Oh well, he said he really liked it.

We left on time and all is good in the world for me. Prior to leavin, I purchased a Darth Vader voice for my TomTom. We had planned to surprise the boys while on the way to WDW. The boys loved it. We recorded a little bit of it before we took the exit into New Orleans. May I also say that Bryan LOVED it more than the boys?!?!

Traffic through New Orleans was great. No problems whatsoever. We haven't gone north of the lake in a year, so we got to see the new Causeway finished. Very wide...nicely done road workers. Pretty soon, we saw this sign.

Woo hoo!!!! We were out of Louisiana! The boys were excited. Aunt Madeline was thrilled as well.

She woke up shortly after because she was starting to get warm. She realized that she was blocking the air vents, so she asked Sam if he wanted to switch places. Sam, having never sat directly next to his brother in the truck, happily obliged.

My boys know the rules we have for road trips. Everyone stops to pee when the truck stops. We only stop for gas and food, so they better make it count. If we didn't set ground rules, we would have the need for the bathroom every half hour. Aunt Stacey, on the other hand, does not have the same rules. SHe warned us ahead of time that she has a small bladder, so it was no surprise that she was on the walkie talkie halfway through Mississippi begging for us to stop at the first rest stop in Alabama. For those that are not familiar, it only takes about 45 minutes to travel through the southern part of Mississippi. Cooper decided he would try to help AUnt STacey and "shoot his webs" to get the bathroom closer for her.

We stopped, and everyone made a bathroom break. I let the boys know that our next stop would be for gas. We would then stop for dinner and finally check into the hotel. No other stops would be allowed. Obviously, Cooper and I took longer than everyone else. Just a few pics from our stop.

Pretty soon, we were back in the truck and ready to hit the road again.

Coming up, what's for supper mom?

Love the Darth voice. Too cool. We also have the rule that everyone goes at the same time. There is little more annoying than taking one to the bathroom coming back and the other says they have to go!! At least ur hubby can help-mine are getting to that age where I really don't want them in the men's restroom.

How comforting to have the Sith Lord accompany you on the long journey!!! Love it!!!

Haha, that Darth voice is AWESOME. I had no idea you could buy something like that!

In the past, when my family took road trips, we never EVER complained about needing to "go". We stopped whenever whoever was driving needed to stop for whatever reason. That was almost an unspoken rule.

Isn't he cool?!? The boys thought it was so awesome. Sam even pointed out that Vader was leading us to Star Wars Weekends. They also have a C3PO, Yoda, and Han Solo coming out soon. Bryan wants us to get all 3.

Yeah, everyone must go when we stop. No questions about that. I was worried about Cooper this time because little kids have little bladders, but he never wanted to go. I had to force him to go.

I look forward to the day where I can pee in peace. Sam is to the point now where he shouldn't be going into the ladies room, but he's not going by himself if his brother or I have to go as well. He does like when I let him go alone though. I am the perverted lady at the door screaming "Are you okay" at the door of the men's room.

I knew you would. Bryan only had Vader tell him that his mistrust in the force was disappointing once. There was construction at the exit for Irlo Bronson Hwy, so he missed it and had to take the next one. LOL...Vader expressed his disappointment in Bryan then.

LOL...I got a few emails from Bryan letting me know about it the day TomTom released it. He REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted it to guide us. I, on the other hand, want the Hannibal Lecter voice. Bryan finds that strange, but I love that movie/book sereies.

When I was younger, you got the death glare if you asked before my dad was ready.

I love that you have rules for on the road. We do, too! Lol. Eventhough our drive is only 6 hours, my DD would want to stop every hour. No ma'am! Only gas and food! Lol.

That's funny about Bryan leaving the tennis shoes behind. Such a man thing to do!
On my last trip with my friend Caitlin and her husband Jun, we got to our room and Jun discovered that he DIDN'T PACK ANY UNDERWEAR! :lmao: At first he tried to pull the "Well, I'm Japanese..." excuse, because at small hotels in Japan, they will provide pajamas and maybe even some day clothes. But Caitlin was quick to point out that they don't provide underwear! So Jun had to go out and buy some. Men.

I LOVE that photo of Cooper shooting spider webs! That's a serious spidey look!

OMG Darth Vader GPS? That's genius! I had no idea they offered different voices!

That's a great idea with the road trip rules. I can remember many drives to Disney with 'emergency' stops. The kind on the side of the interstate. My sister always claimed she couldn't wait until the next exit.

Thanks for waving at me!

Yay! You're on your way! Thanks for sharing the actual road trip with us, as well. It's fun to hear everyone's travel experiences. :goodvibes

The Darth Vader voice for your GPS is too funny! I had no idea you could get such a thing!

I think most of us probably have that same rule. Mine will still say, "I don't have to." AND of course we say, "Well, go try!" :rotfl:

Love the Darth voice! I wonder if Danny would appreciate that one--he hates the female voice on the Garmin when she tells you you are off course and need to turn around. Love the Spidey web slinger to cute! I have not given in to the Spider man and Bat man thing with Ashton yet but I think Danny and Dayne are getting close

:wave2: Connie

Oh my gosh, Hannibal's voice guiding you. That would be so creepy yet AWESOME

I have to check out what other voices they have. This is just too cool.

There is a need for rules...especially for long road trips.

Total man thing to forget something and blame your wife. How funny to blame forgetting underwear on Japan. That's a big responsibility. LOL....

That was the first and definitely not last web sling of the trip. Any time he took a picture, he was slinging webs.

Yep, the Star Wars voices are only offered through TomTom though.

Rules for road trips are priceless. I don't think we would survive without them. It has taken out all questions they could ask about stops.
