This is a link to my friend's house that's for sale now -- look at the price. There's no way I'd pay that!
That is a really cute house but it would only sell for about $115k here. Our salaries must be really low in comparison of other parts of the country or something, if they weren't i couldn't afford to live anywhere else :earseek:

I stopped in and saw you were talking about house prices. The difference is amazing. We sold our first house for $90,000.It was 1100 sq. ft,brick, hardwood floors, and carport. We bought this house for $130,000 and it is 1900 sq.ft with a full unfinished basement. It is also brick with a carport and has 2 1/2 acres of land.

you have a really pretty yard. our lot is really narrow it is .11 acre but it goes straight back kind of like the house, but you know for someone who doesn't like a lot of yard work...
It is alot of work. When we bought the house the whole front yard was wooded, so we cut the trees down to make a yard and to make room for a swingset. The only thing that was planted were the shrubs under the front windows. I just did all the landscaping myself last year and this year. I like doing it, though.

your area and my area must be about the same as far as property value goes. the new house that we are trying to buy is 1800 sq. ft with a double car garage, privacy fenced back yard and bonus room in a really nice neighborhood with a community pool and it is $134,000

Froggy, that would probably go for around $70-$80k here.

My sister bought her first house for about $25k, it was a fixer upper. She lived in it for a couple of years and did tons and tons of work on it and sold it for around $80k. That was in the early 90s though.

i doubt it, its really not in good shape, but its in a great location, the property valuee doubled when we purchased it, as part of the larger parcel, on both sides of street, its wworth more:)

you know whatr they say a carpenters house never gets finished or fixed..lol

My husband is in the other room making my dad watch the ******* movie  I'm really sure he wants to watch someone eat their own pee.
