I mean, has anyone noted my previous statement ..."let the Phillies play those West Coast teams "....Whew, talk about easy pickings .... first the Giants, now Arizona.... Now that's how baseball should be played..
are you following this Lynn ....? it's unbelievable, in last place of their Div.,and playing better than 500 ball...Not to worry, I can't understand what's happening either
Stay tuned... by the time of the cruise, the Phillies could be leading the whole league...

I might have to cheer for your Phillies Bill! My poor Reds......look for a firing this week.... There's a lot of rumors going around. They dismissed two players in May, but the coach(es) may be next. I don't think the manager will make a difference with a firing. I will see Tampa Bay Wed. night and then the AL eastern division leading Orioles!!! That should be a guaranteed six losses for the loly Reds!!!!

By the way..........did I ever tell you that my husband's great-grandfather pitched for the Phillies in 1912-1914?? My DH idolized him and spent many a nights listening to baseball on the radio with him. His name was Cy "Rube" Marshall (hense our son's name ~ Marshall!). Not a great pitcher, but he did pitch in the majors!!!

That's pretty neat, having family being part of the "Big Show"....

I had Uncles that played in the AA leagues ,but no big leagures... good for you... hopefully one of the kids will pick up the "torch" and play in the Majors.... It doesn't appear any of my sons will, but there's always the G'sons or even one of the G'daughters ....!! who knows ..it's a changing world....
the Red's will be back... they have had fantastic teams in the past, ..they have "History".... whatever it takes (Mostly Money)... But I do believe the talent base is thinner than in the past...!! Team Loyalty,important things have been past over.....
I would look to see the Red's do well in the up coming series....when your on the bottom ,the only way is up....!!

passports anyone? Do you guys have passports? We don't, but I can't decide whether to or not to. I thought I read that if parents have passports and children do not, they can go through the passport line. But, now I think I read it's all or none on the passport line.

Anyone have an opinion on this? DH and I considered getting one, but if it has no merit for disembarking (with the kids only using b.c.), then I won't spend the $$. I don't really want to get the kids one.

Jenny I have this dilemma also. Tyler (the 13 yr. old) and I have passports, well,we ordered them, should come any day.
Bob (the wonderful man taking us on this cruise) was going to get
one, but his birth certificate didn't have a raised seal, so he had to
send for a new one, which we have, but we fear it won't be time to get
a passport.
Bryan, the 19 yr. old, we were just going to use his birth certificate (how
many more years will he travel with us - don't answer that!)
So, that equals 2 passports, and 2 birth certificates.
If i ran out and got the boys two more passports, that would be over
$200.
I did read there will be two lines....I don't like it but what is my choice?
Our friends travelling with us have passports.
I'd rather be spending that extra $200 on souvenirs, wine tasting,
sail-away drinks, bingo, etc. etc. etc.
Guess Lynn doesn't have THIS problem, right Lynn?
Jenny, I KNEW when Bill started 'talking' baseball, you'd be back
on the boards!
I'm also a little disgusted that we won't be able to get on the ship till
around 1:00....but I still want to be there early.....it is definitely NOT
Port Canaveral!

those of you without passports or half and half. I was reading that when you get off and go through customs there are separate lines for passport and birth certificate holders. Hope this helps.
I'm still trying to get Palo ressies for our party of 5. They're already booked! I think some will open up on the ship from those that double booked.
We are booked for the Canopy tours in PV just waiting on the times

Lucy I admit, I have a baseball addiction, but I guess I could have worse addictions!!!

As of right now, I have booked:
* Dolphin excursion in PV
* Horses in Maz (but am strongly leaning toward cancelling - $$ saving area)
* Palos on Monday night
* Elimis Auroma Stone Therapy on Sunday a.m. (thanks to DS11 - Kids club
not open at 8 a.m. and he has agreed to watch DD6 for
Mom!!! ) I took the last a.m. at sea ressie for this- there were
three last night!!)
* Rental car for Monday through Sat. a.m. (Hertz - teachers NEA
discount brought the price down about $30!!)

I am getting ready to book the limo. I have two that I am going to recall and talk to one more time. I had a VERY BAD experience with a company, so let me know before you book a limo. I don't want you to go through what I did with them!!! They misquoted me, then after they finally agreed to a price, lo and behold they had no limos available that morning!! Sounds to me!!!

Hi all, Sorry I missed you for the past few days. Life has been extremely hectic. My DD Alex graduated from HS on Sat and we had a big party at the house yesterday. Of course the weather has been so lousy here lately, but yesterday was 90 degrees and humid. Summer has arrived to this part of the US. Now that it is June and graduation is done, I feel I can really get excited for this trip, less than 2 months away. I am definitely in for the Margarita tasting, the only problem is that tasting might just not cut it. We have to indulge, not just taste. LOL. Yes, I am looking forward to "getting merry" with all of you.
JoAnn - Congratulations too to your DD, I am sure the girls will be ready to celebrate in style!!!

I knew you would be back....when Bill started talking baseball.

Only two excursions 'being considered' at present: Puerto V. aradise
Beach Adventure (JoAnn - aren't your parents going on this one?)
and in Cabo, would like to do Harbor Cruise and Scenic Drive (stopping
by Cabo Wabo). Both these excursions were discussed by last week's
cruisers. Still haven't booked any.

Congrats to everyone who has graduates - it is such an exciting time
for everyone. I'm just glad, at this point, we only have 2 more half days
of 7th grade, with NO finals. Guess they will just 'play' for 2 half days -
ok with me. Good school is almost out - can't believe we are having 90 degree weather and humidity - guess that seems cold to people from Arizona?!!!!!

Haven't booked transportation yet - guess I'm waiting for someone to tell me
who to call and that I can trust the transportation company - sitting around or not - I'm going to be at that port very early.

We just had a wicked thunderstorm - my SON!!!! left his car window open, automatic windows, and he was away with the keys.....great, another dilemma.

Just gone back to school today for final 7 weeks of the year.... rain and cold wind has been the order of the day the past few weeks.... oh my why was I born in the UK ..I'm sure someone got it wrong... I think I was destined to be a Florida babe... oh no wait they get hurricanes....a California gal.... no wait they get earthquakes....... ok maybe good old blighty isn't too bad after all

At least us Europeans don't have the passport dilemma you're right there Lucy. I've had one since I was 10, used to enjoy getting stamps from all the countries we went to now with a borderless Europe no more stamps.

Jenny-DH and I have passports, the boys have BCs. I asked on the May 28th thread about this situation and they said if one person in your party has a BC, child or not, even if everyone else has passports, you all have to go in BC line! So, that sealed the deal for us, the boys are getting them this week. We will use the again...my DH's family reunion will more than likely be a Caribbean cruise and my mom is greek and owns a home in Greece, so we'll be spending summers there in the near future.

All that not having a passport means is that the line will be longer. If we didn't have a 3 year old, we'd blow it off and not worry about it, but I'm thinking we won't deal well with an early rise and a week of lack of sleep! Sure to be a melt down somewhere in there!

I just cancelled my Panama Canal cruise in August on the Magic. I've known since January, but finally found the courage to cancel it. Sob!

Yep, there are two lines, a passport one and a BC one. Apparently the passport line moves or clears, about 3 times as fast as the BC one.

Also, regarding Palos, I read on another thread of either recent or current Mexico cruisers that Palos was booked online but when they got on the ship they immediately went to Palos and were able to get both the time and day they wanted. I also heard they were able to book two dinner reservations without hassle. Hope that helps!
