Well, I'm serious but there are a lot of factors for me. First and foremost is my mom works retail (you're with me, right Bob???). That's my babysitter! Mark's mom is not physically capable of taking care of my kids, or anyone's kids for that matter. But, I am going to keep in in my works. What about a big "slumber party" in Manhattan? :lmao: Don't abandon my idea, but do plan ahead with or without me!!! :woohoo: I'll work on the Feesh in the meantime. You know Lucy, he caves to you and my mother! What's the connection??? :dance3: :rolleyes1 :stir:

Let's work on this guys!!!!

Hi Guys,

All is busy here. The kids are back to school. Owen is now on the YMCA swim team with 3 practices/week in addition to piano lessons and afterschool clubs 2 days/week. Amy is also in gymnastics. It'll take me a couple of weeks to get into the swing of carpools, etc.

I've got to fly back to San Diego later this week. The mom of my best friend in Coronado will likely pass away tonight. She has endstage Altzheimer's and this has been anticipated for a long time. I'm trying to clear my schedule and make arangements for childcare. Ted is on call this week and next weekend so he'll be little help. I started my low iodine diet last Tuesday in preparation for my thyrogen study the week after next so I'll be near fasting while I'm out there since I can't eat any processed foods as they most likely contain iodized salt.

Ted just left for the hospital as I type. He's been on the phone arguing with Anesthesiology about a case start time. He wanted to do a procedure in the OR tomorrow at 7:00am. The anesthesiologist on call tonight wanted to schedule it for 8:30am since they turn over call at 8:00am. He told Ted he could operate now or at 8:30am so Ted called his bluff and he's on his way in and he's not happy.

Ted and I went to the movies earlier this evening. We saw "Invincible". It was very good...a must see for all of you Eagles fans.

Did I mention that Ted is obsessed with this Fantasy Football stuff.

I have to laugh....John says to me "THat Ted guy won't trade with me"!! I told him he was a doc and John's comment was "oh great, a smart guy!!" :lmao: John isn't used to someone smarter than him!!!! :lmao:

I have NO backpain tonight!!! Oh, did I tell you that we have Jose Cuervo as our babysitter?????????? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I WILL Pay tomorrow!!! :teeth:

I would be happy to make our shopping reunion come together...................if NYC is the desired location, that's great.....shopping there for the holidays :santa: is a blast (and sometimes really cold!)There's Macy's, FAO, Disney, Niketown, Barneys ( :rotfl2: - jkjkjkjk) and a million other great stores! We could do research and plan our attack! Let's mull this one, girls!

I'm pretty sure Jess has a soccer tournament but I can miss one!

Glad you feel better, JenNy! :thumbsup2 ;)

Sounds like the football was fun, LuCy, that's my kinda game :chat:

The DD 19/20 age group is FOR THE BIRDS! I'm seriously going on "Mommy Strike!" :worried: :scared: :faint: :snooty:

Sorry to hear about your friend, Kath............safe travels! :grouphug:

I think it's really great that you're planning a trip across the pond to shop with me for Thanksgiving :rotfl2: After all that's fair I come to you in Oct you come here in Nov right!! I'm telling you I'm gonna have to think about emigrating so I don't miss out on all the action!
Sorry to hear about your friend's mum Kathy

I have good news the lad who Keith and I took in for a year or 2 has just become a proud and doting Dad. Baby Lily born this morning at 9am 7lbs 5oz. His mum called and said I could be grandma with her...I'm not sure I'm ready to be a grandma but since he calls me his second mum I guess it follows. :cloud9:

Jenny please tell John to take a look at my team and give me some good advice, I don't seem to have any good running backs and I don't know what to do. BTW I think Ted's clever too he's been trying to trade with me I think he thinks I'm a rookie Brit.........well he'd be right!

John and Lynn, Like I said, Ted is obsessed with this FF stuff. He is on the computer every night. I have no idea what he is doing. He is constantly in consultation with our friend and neighbor, Steve. Steve's wife claims that her husband is even worse than Ted. The two of them have a date this afternoon to watch the early game together.

My friend didn't call during the night so I don't know if her mom has passed away yet. I'm glad we got to see her during our visit last month. I'm really not up for another trip at this point but I really need to go. It's going to be quick though. I plan to take a 5:30am flight out and return on the red eye the next day. I'll be gone 48 hours. I just don't know which day I'm going yet.

I wish I could join you guys at Thanksgiving but that's our big weekend to get the Christmas lights up. Our grand illumination is that Sunday evening. Remember, we're going for the "three-peat" in the annual holiday lights competition. We expect our house number to be retired after we move. We'd love to have you guys visit here. We can always use an extra hand. Who's up for climbing a 40' ladder and scaling my roofline to string lights? Seriously, we'd love to see you guys. Williamsburg is beautiful at the holidays. Come on, Bob, I know how much you love it there!

ohh now I'm really jealous I wanted to come to Williamsburg when we visited Maryland in Aug 2004, but we were kidnapped by friends, and ended up staying in Ocean City for the whole fortnight......I wish I had time off for Thanksgiving I'd be there like a shot and Keith loves lights so he could help Ted...I wonder how long it takes for emigration papers to go through :)
Kathy it is addictive this Fantasy Football.. watch Ted carefully... I haven't got a clue but I know I need to watch at 6pm our time and the results for my men will come on screen as they happen....only trouble is I won't have any idea what they have done to score my points :cheer2:
I'm having real dilemnas with my running backs I'd love some help!!!!

Lynn ~ I told John to "look you over". I'll have him e-mail you with his thoughts. Congratulation on being a Grandma! Tell Grandpa congrats too!! :rotfl2:

Today the boys have decided to bag the Reds game and go over to the Bengals stadium to watch the Bengals game on the TVs. All our friends went to Kansas City for the game. I tried to convince Mark to go, but he wanted to see the baseball as there is only one more homestand weekend. Now he is regretting it. We flew out there last New Years eve for the game and had a great time.

My back is still a mess (the Cuervo wore off!!!).

Marshall fell at the pool yesterday and busted it head open! :sad2: I contemplated the ER, but it was borderline. John went to the pharmacy and got him some anitibiotic cream and butterflies. Marshall told me to cut the hair and put the butterfly in! So he looks like he has a bow in his hair! :rotfl2: I figured since it was in the hair, scarring wouldn't be too obvious, so I bagged the ER idea (no hospital discount over here for us! ;) )

Where are Bill and Debi??? :confused3

What are the shopping options?

Kathy ~ I would be worthless on lighting. I cannot even figure out my own house and let alone get up on a ladder right now. I get the tree put up and that's about as electronic as we get. Marshall gets so frustrated because he wants us to do the outside. :rolleyes1 Mark can plug lights in and that's about his limit! :rotfl:

I can just see Lucy at the football game. Bob running all over the place, sweating to death and serving food Lucy, in the meantime, standing there.... :hyper2: :hyper2: :hyper2: :hyper2: She must be in charge of the social committee!!! :lmao:

Poor boy wouldn't have any fun if I didn't plan it. Look at, for example, this past summer, DID WE HAVE FUN OR WHAT! :cool1:  :grouphug: :cheer2:

Also, Jenny, I DON'T stand around at football, I go very early, get the best seats (where I can talk to the most people), and have people wait on me if I get thirsty....if I move, someone may take my seat.

Shopping over Thanksgiving - I'll buy my ticket to the City as soon as you say "go"! NO, I change my mind, I'm not doing a THING until we hear from
Debi. You know, I can't shut up long enough :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 to go on strike because we haven't heard from them, I've gotta think of something else.....like threaten to start scrapbooking and buy all my materials in PA (oh, yea, ms. organized here, scrapbooking, all my pictures from this past summer are still on a CD - I have the albums though) :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Well, I agree, if we're going to NYC, we need debster!!! :confused3

Heartwarming story, Lynn! WTG and congrats to your family and friend! Come on over, (don't Headmistresses get vacation days????) :goodvibes for the Thxgiving shopping trip.....................

Where are we staying, where are we shopping????????????????

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING WITH THE FF STUFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :guilty:

BTW, The EAGLES kicked b*** today!! We saw Invincible last night, I vaguely remember Vince Papale!!!!! :cheer2: That's around the time Ken & I got married, etc!!! :thumbsup2

Great weekend here, very relaxing and TWO SHOPPING TRIPS............WHHHOOPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!
 :woohoo:  :woohoo:  :dance3:

Everyone sounds well.... at least sounds normal :rotfl:
Joanski planning trips :cool1:

We visited Philla this Saturday.....Birthday party....had a good time visiting with the "rug rats " the drive is getting longer  I think its because
there are more female drivers up there :Pinkbounc

So, I'm back on the corner checking the childrens, :confused3 :teeth: finishing up on the boat ramp, and finally working in the B&T place....

BTW, I'm totally frustrated with this FF... can't get in ,when I'm in I don't know what to do  I ask other people and they seem just as screwed up as I am..... :guilty:
Have a nice day.......... popcorn::

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, everyone is fine here, thank God. I have been so busy with the move, back and forth to both places, painting in the new place, packing in the old...have to get new floors put in...so it is coming slowly, but surely. It will be nice when it is done. Plus with Alex having no car, I am now the taxi to Kean University.

I haven't had a chance to read the board yet, so I will hopefully get to catch up sometime later today, then post again. Lucy - Thanks for your call, I will give you a call later.

Again, sorry I have been MIA for awhile.

Hey, check out those FF scores. Lynn - For a Brit, you're doing pretty darn good. You Go Girl! BTW, I have 3 teams, and it looks like they are all going to win this week! I think I have gotten better since last year, I actually kind of know what I' doing. :rotfl2: Disdaddt - McNabb had an awesome day yesterday, he is one of my FF QBs.

Debi

Thanks Debi, mind you I see you're well ahead with a game to play for one man

Okay here's a picture

and another

What an adorable baby!!! Congratulations Lynn!

The memorial service for my friend's mom is going to be a week from Saturday so I'll fly out after my thyroid scan on that Friday afternoon and come back on the red eye Sunday night. I'm actually looking forward to the trip now as I'll be able to eat! I couldn't imagine a trip to Coronado without a visit to my favorite sushi bar.

Hi Debi, Good luck with the new store!

Jenny, How's your back doing?

:wave2: Great baby pics, LynnSKI, how sweet!! Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :grouphug: :cloud9:What a beautiful family!

I'm still loving my class and job, how weird is that?? I know, LucSKI feels the same way!! :teleport:

GL, KathSKI with the test, etc....... :smooth:

Yes, JenSKI, we need an update about your back!

GL to DebsKI with the new location, where is it compared to your old one? :goodvibes Why don't you PM us the address, just for fun? :dance3:

WOW, DISDaddyski, said "HI!" How nuts is that??? Now, that he's working three jobs, HE PROBABLY HAS MORE TIME OR SOMETHING! :stir: I bet it was beautiful by the shore this weekend, BTW! :moped:

Lynn ~ That baby is precious!!! How sweet looking!

Debi ~ I am glad you are getting moved. I know it's a lot of hard work, but it will pay off. Good luck, but don't work too hard!

JoAnn ~ Isn't it nice to have a class you enjoy? I like all my "little Lucys"!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Kathy ~ I am so sorry to hear about your friend's mother. I hope your trip goes well and that your friend is doing well.

Lucy ~ So how is the job?? Are you telling them all to have a "Magical ___ Day?" :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

My back hurts like crazy! I can't tie my shoes. Most simple tasks are very difficult. My kids have rallied at home by carrying laundry, etc. Mark called me yesterday at work to tell me that he scheduled me a doctor's appointment today, so I will be going after work.

John's step mom has really come down on him and tells him that she had better NEVER se me back on a lawn mower (which is where I think I hurt it, but that's my little secret!). HE IS TO MOW if she has to come over here and physically put him on the lawn mower! :rolleyes1 (not a lady you would want to mess with!) We'll see how this chapter plays out!

you just don't KNOW how much I LOVE babies - i truly do...two of my professors are having babies next year and I'm more excited than they are - they just don't realize how wonderful babies are compared to teenagers.
Babies smell SO GOOD, they are so innocent, I hope everything is great with the family. :grouphug:
Anytime you want to pass along pictures, be my guest. :woohoo:

Debi, yes, good luck with the shop...I hope we will be able to see it when we visit....you must be SO busy. :hyper2:

But, Jenny, I can see John's point about mowing grass too - how many times has that boy been bit....I don't know any kid who would want to cut grass after being attacked by bees several times. AND, you also need to stay off the lawnmower. Hire someone for the rest of the season...neither you nor John should be doing the grass right now - sorry if that is NOT what you wanted to hear, but I know Tyler is scared to death of bees (but he helped one of my professors clean out her attic and she had 3 bats in there) :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Joanster: Wow, we heard from DISdaddy! Indirectly is better than not hearing anything!

Kathy - safe travels, and good luck with that horrible test.

Yesterday was a very tiring and emotional day - must have been for Debi also...we had a memorial service in the morning at the university and it was mentally draining for the rest of the day, FIVE years - i can't believe it - I just don't know how these families cope with it, because I know how it affects me every single year and I didn't even know anyone in the Towers...
sorry for being a downer this morning. :grouphug:

Hey all......I don't know if I ever mentioned this...........when 9/11 occurred, Ken was still a caterer and he catered one of the pilot's funerals, the man came from nearby and Ken was asked by a friend of the family to cater for this sad event. So we were there for the funeral, etc.............it was Victor Saracini, he was one of the pilots which hit the towers...........maybe that's why it's so tough to go to Ground Zero................. :grouphug:

Also, on another sad note...........Ken's brother is fighting cancer and we just heard things have made a turn for the worse............please send your prayers Ken's way and for his brother, Bud..............

On a brighter note :goodvibes , Back to School Night is tomorrow!!! Wish me luck....................Jennster, go to the DOCTOR and get relief...........LIFE'S TOO SHORT!!!, NO TIME FOR PAIN! :confused3

Bummer, I don't have any Lucyster's this year (jkjkjkjk)......seriously so far way too normal in my class!!
:dance3: :goodvibes :cool1: :thumbsup2 :sunny:  :woohoo: I guess I seemed overwhelmed last year! :rolleyes1

Hope all are well, tonight, despite my depressing message............things are going well here, take care to all!!!

JoAnn ~ I am so sorry to hear about Ken's brother. I will keep him close to me in my thoughts. It's tough to see those who you love suffer.

Yesterday was definitely sad....5 years, wow! Do you realize that neither of my two little ones were really "aware" of 9/11, which might be good and bad. We told tell them all about it yesterday. They were 2 and 4 at the time, so we didn't really tell them too much at the time.

John wore his Pat Tillman football jersey yesterday to school. I thought it was sweet, as it was his idea. For those of you who don't know who he was, he was the NFL player for the Arizona Cardinals who turned down over $1 million contract to join the rangers along with his brother. He felt he owed it to his country. Unfortunately, he was killed by friendly fire in Iraq. That's a true patriot, just like all those other men and women who volunteer to defend us.

Well....with that being said. I hope everyone is doing well

As for my back...I went to the doctor today. I assumed that I had aggravated the scar tissue again that is present due to my surgery 5 years ago. It appears that when I had my last MRI in Dec. '04 along with the inflamed scar tissue, there was a different disc that was "bulging", which basically means that it is not ruptured, but is potential to. It all made sense to me because this pain was not like the last two. The last and inital (when we had to operate) were definitely laying on the sciatic (sp?) nerve. There is no sciatic numbness like the two previous. So, I have aggravated the "bulging" disc. Lovely.... Anyway, he gave me a shot of steroid (oral steriods and I don't get along, just ask my husband and kids ;) ). Hopefully this will help. It does feel better today which is amazing because it has rained all day and still is! :confused3 He offered pain killers, but I told him Cuervo does just fine for me! :lmao: I DO NOT take pain killers....

Hope all is well.......
