I'm going to try to book my rooms on Thursday in CA.....wish me luck!!

where are you going to book your rooms?
Disney resort or other?

I have to decide tomorrow, so I'll let you know. I'm not familiar with the beach areas and since we'll be to a lot of them during the cruise, it might be fun to do something different.

I'll update tomorrow.:smooth: :sunny:

OK! We booked the GC for 7/27-7/30! I think Lucy will be there as well??

See you then!!

I'm so happy, we will hopefully be able to meet before
the cruise....

I can't remember, is your DS19 coming?? I think we'll lounge by the pool on Wednesday when we arrive, go to parks on Thursday and then maybe on Friday tour around LA/Beverly Hills depending on what the girls want to do. Maybe it would be fun to meet for dinner one of the nights...??

We'll also be at DLC before the cruise. ( my Hubby and I). We are staying at the Candy Cane Inn, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Would love to say hi to you both at some point.

How are you getting from DLC to the port? At the moment I have a rental car booked up to the Wednesday ( we arrive on the Saturday and are staying in the Santa monica area for a few days.)
Then we have a car taking us to the port. It seemed easier than worrying about returning cars at the port.

We will be arriving into LAX on Monday before the cruise. We are staying at the Hyatt near DL. We are planning on renting a car, but I have two delimmas. Where/how are we going to return our car precruise? And, when we return, we need to get back to LAX that afternoon, so any suggestions?

I've never stayed at the Candy Cane Inn, but my friend stays there all the time and their family really likes it. She said it's not the Hyatt, etc. but it's really nice (and she's REALLY picky). Just thought I'd share that if you weren't already familiar with the Inn.

I haven't arranged it yet, but I plan to rent a car at least part of the time. I have found through experience that it's better to arrange transportation (either DCL or some other limo service.) to the ship. I don't need a car on the first two days, so I might just arrange one on Friday. I am waiting for info from DCL and hopefully through this board to make my decisions.

Dropping off a rental the day of the cruise can be stressful.

Since we will all be around let's brainstorm a location for a dinner together the night before in DL....what do you guys think? It might be fun to meet before we embark!! (I can't wait - how about you guys!!)

Would love to meet sometime. But, we will be in San Diego the night before to see the Reds and Padres! Maybe on board? We have some "at sea" time that would be perfect!

Sounds good! When does everyone want to meet onboard??

What do you guys think? I am open to suggestions...... I'll just check those kids into the club and party!!

I have a new theme song dedicated to this cruise. Anyone know Toby Keith's song "Good to Go"? If you don't, you need to listen to it.......... I am NOT a country fan, but this is a fitting song and I really like it!!!::rockband:

I love your clippies!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We could meet the first day when we arrive. I once met at the Goofy pool at around 3pm before the drill.........or.............we could meet later at night in Diversions......at around 10pm (after second seating dinner) ....what do you think???? We have friends from the LAST 4 SUMMERS WHO ARE JOINING US! They have booked for our week and several other weeks.............they will probably meet us as well!

Thank Lisa for the info about the Candy Cane, I've heard good things about it too. It was a toss up between there and the HoJo.

We are very easy about meeting there is only myself and hubby to organise and we've been on the Magic before so we won't be running around trying to see the ship on our first day.
early or late is fine with us.

If you still want to go ahead and meet up in Disney on the Friday night we would love to have a meal with you or something.

No I'm not excited honest!!

Once we get on the ship, make our ressies for Palo and the spa, I am "Good to Go". Like Lynn, we've seen the ship, so I'm flexible. I definitely think a "deck meeting" because I want that "view"!! I am so excited!

The kids don't know yet. That is part of their Christmas surprise! I am putting together a scavenger hunt. It will include Reds, Dodgers, and Padres "stuff" for our baseball trip. I have the DL video for the DL part and I bought a stuffed DCL ship with characters on top on E-Bay. I was theses on the DCL ship last year and thought it was cute. It retailed for $40 and I ended up getting it with shipping for $25!!!!

I keep playing that Toby Keith CD. They love the song and have not idea that we are going to "Cabo" like the song says!!! DH is planning on putting on the CD during the scavenger hunt to see if they "notice it"!!!!:rotfl:

We're doing the REAS so we won't need to make ressies anywhere, but we will have to register our kids in the kids club...and believe me, I plan to get that ball rolling right away. My DS6 won't leave me alone about this cruise. He's as excited as we are. Our almost 3DS doesn't really get it yet, but he will once he sees Mickey. We've never been on the Magic before so I think we'll want to check it out a bit and we're also traveling with three other families but I'm willing to sneak away any time you guys set.

Lisa

Hey Lisa we are doing the REAS as well it is our 14th Wedding anniversary on the cruise, (Aug 3rd) Are you celebrating or is it just a treat?

Hey Lynn-It's my 40th brithday (Aug 6th) that we're celebrating, woo hoo :cheer2: Our 12th anniversary will be just a month after yours...Sept 4th!

of course I remember you telling us that at the beginning, it's a good way to celebrate isn't it!! :cool1:

I found this smilie just right for our trip to Mexico
