Hi Lisa,

My DH is not interested in the wine tasting either but I'm definitely up for it. I really like the rainforest room at the spa. On the day of a "hands on" treatment it only costs $8.00. I may also do it on Sunday and Monday in addition to our spa day Friday. I think its very relaxing.

Lucy I'd love to meet up while we're at DL but our schedule will be hectic. We will arrive at the DLH mid-afternoon on Wednesday. We plan to relax and let the kids swim in the Neverland Pool. We have a reservation at the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney at 6:00 pm that evening. On Thursday we'll be in DL. I'm going to make a PS reservation for lunch at Blue Bayou. On Friday we'll be at DCA. On Saturday morning I'm going to make a PS reservation for Goofy's Kitchen for Breakfast before we transfer to the ship. Although I have thought about going to Goofy's kitchen on Friday morning before we head over to DCA instead since we'll be having lunch onboard the ship as soon as we board. All that being said Lucy probably the best times for us would be late Wednesday afternoon/evening or Saturday morning before we head for San Pedro.

Lisa, I've been looking for DL/DCA day planning advise on the Disneyland board. If you have any advice on how to optimize our experience I'd love to hear it.

Kathy

The schedule to leave for the Magic is DLH 12 noon, PP 12:10, and GCH at 12:20 if you are using DCL Transfers. It should take about 45-50 min to get to San Pedro from there. There is a DCL desk at the GCH which is staffed everyday from 8:00 am-12:00 pm. There will be a DCL rep at the PP and DLH on sail days only. I'll be looking forward to the 28 May cruisers return so they can give us detailed information about what time they were permitted to board the ship and what time they were able to disembark upon return.

Kathy

Debi and Kathy,
If your DH's would like another on their trips I am game. I am doing the dive excursion in PV, but will be doing my own booking so I can get a 2 or 3 tank dive in Cabo. I have done some research and have a few good dive operators in Cabo. You can PM me if you have any questions. Thanks,
Dustin

I would love to do the wine tasting w/ the group~sounds like fun!

We have school through June 24th, so still awhile to go for us...oh well I am sure the 2 months will just zoom by.

Do you have to book the Rainforest spa beforehand or just when you get on the ship??

Kathy-thanks for the info on the Rainforest spa!

Liz-You can't book it online. We'll have to take a few moments when we board and head down to the spa and see if we can add it. I'm feeling pretty good about what I've booked online so if we don't make it down there right away and they don't have it available, I'm also OK with that.

Kathy, Liz-Okay, well, so far we have three of us (Liz does JP want to wine taste...I know Henry is a wine drinker but Shari is not, so Henry might join us) who want to do Stem to Stern. I believe it's $12 per person.

I might do Tea with Wendy because even though Ryan is a boy, I bet he'd love seeing her. He digs the whole Peter Pan story. :sunny:

Dustin,

Ted (DH) might be interested in a 2-tank dive in Cabo. Remember the ships sails from Cabo at 3:30 pm. If you have any details please let me know.

The rainforest room doesn't need to be reserved in advance. You can just show up and use it. They do offer a length-of-cruise rainforest pass but I don't think it's much of a deal. You're probably better off just paying as you go.

Sounds like the wine tasting will be a party! We can find out when it'll be offered during our cruise as soon as someone posts a West Coast Navigator. I think there will be one on Sunday afternoon.

Kathy

Hi Folks we are all very organised aren't we :cool1:
I requested LAP mainly cos AP is my least fav restaurant and Lumineres my favourite, I don't mind too much where I am for formal/pirates etc
We have brunch sunday 11am and dinner Wed 8:00pm (our anniversery) and high tea on friday.

In the spa we have a couples well being massage booked on Thursday late afternoon and i have the aromastone therapy booked on mon am.

Before the cruise we are at the candy Cane Inn from wed - sat and would love to meet some of you. We will try and book the fantasmic dessert buffet for wed and before that lucnch at Blue Bayou.
We are considering booking one of the tours at DL especially the one that includes a parade reserved place having heard about the crowds! Anyone done this before?

Believe it or not, had to be in OC for a business meeting this week. Somehow ended up at DL and caught the new parade and fireworks show.

IT IS AWESOME!

Tink travels all the way from Monorail down Main Street. New laser show added to the whole fireworks. It was good before, but now is much better. If you are visiting DL before the cruise make sure you stay for the show!

Hey Lisa,

JP is not a wine drinker--so it'll just be me.

I know Jensen would love tea w/ Wendy princess: she just loves all of the characters.

Kathy,

I did not know they had bingo on the ship--may have to check it out :earboy2: I know you asked Lisa's advice on DL, but I thought I would throw my two cents in...I would try to get there when the park opens--you can really do a lot of rides in the first couple of hours while everyone else is sleeping or eating breakfast :) Also, at night before the fireworks they shut many of the rides in Fantasyland down --you may want to ask a cast member when you get there--or maybe someone on the board knows. The Birnbaum book on DL 2005 got great reviews on Amazon--you can actually get some good tips just from reading the reviews.

Liz

likes wine - "she" would be interested in joining the group. Mostly a white
wine or rose person but it sounds like a fun time. (we could bring along
Nilla wafers for Lynn with her wine!) :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

OK, let's get down to one plan - Wednesday sounds good to me, meeting.
IF like WDW, we return to our hotel in the afternoon or early evening.
Anyone?
Saturday morning is not good, remember, Lucy WILL be one of the
first people at the port....do 'we' remember that? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

AND, of course LUcy has NEVER been to a girl thing (teas, princess
breakfasts) - remember, she had the boys! Can't wait for daughter-in-laws
or granddaughters - in the FAR future, that is.

LIZ/LISA: is it like WDW - you would take a break in the afternoon from DL
and go back in the evening?

So for the wine tasting we have me, Liz, Kathy and Lucy. When we get on board we can check out the Navigators. Liz, same goes for Tea with Wendy. Ryan can be Jensens date HA HA.

I meant to comment on the bingo thing too, forgot. Anyway, I *think* I might try final bingo but as much as I love bingo, I don't want to spend all my free time (and money too) indoors playing bingo. We'll see how the time thing works out.

Lucy-yes, like WDW you can go back to the hotel and then back to the parks later. I think you just need to get your hand stamped on the way out. This is especially easy to do if you're staying at the GC because it's RIGHT there! Oh and Lucy, you're welcome to do the tea thing with us ... tea at Palo's, tea with Wendy...whichever! I don't let being mommy of boys stop me!!! I still gotta get pampered HA!!!!

Kathy-I liked Liz's advice. We usually only go for the day whereas Liz has stayed overnight a few times, so her advice will be better than mine!

Put me on the list for the wine tasting, I've done it and it's fun!!

I'm all about Bingo..........it's an addiction!

I'm thinking about the Tea, I've never done it, is it too much with everything else??

I've been reading my DL Birnbaum book to see what places would be good to arrange a meet before the cruise in CA.....I'll try to come up with a good plan.

WHERE IS DAD is the question! I'll catch up with him this weekend and pressure him to return! :earsgirl:

I may rethink some of my excursions.....the LIVE thread already has some good feedback!

We are booked at Palo's on Monday night. I haven't booked any spa yet, but need to do that now that SCHOOL IS OVER!! :cool1: :cool1: I also need to do transportations stuff. I am definitely booking shuttle service for Sat. a.m. to port and Sat. to LAX. From there???? We will need a car prior to get to Dodger Stadium, Hyatt Orange Co., and San Diego the week prior. I plan to "dump" the car before the cruise.

We're not wine drinkers so I'll leave you guys to enjoy your wine, but tea well now that's a whole different story.....I am English after all :sunny:

Wednesday early pm would be good for us but we do plan to be back in the park from about 5pm.

Did you people catch the post which said the BBQ on board would be on all the west coast cruises I thought that would be a fun lunchtime with dissers all hanging at the pool together.
I wonder which day they'll do that? next week is going to be very exciting!

JoAnn: yes, please come up with a plan to meet - I would really
like to meet you guys at Disney....maybe my son could pre-meet the
girls so he would have someone to hang with on the ship - and since
they know others coming on the ship - maybe they could include him -
appreciate it. The ONLY day we could not meet is Thursday, during
the day, touring and Universal.
The wine tasting sounds like so much fun with you girls - i know my friend
Cathy will join us also. (I'll try to sneak away from my husband - he likes
these things too).
I LOVE barbeques on deck.....
I still haven't booked our transportation....my girlfriends wants me to
book a company that Disney recommends....but GoldenWest was so much
cheaper, and did a free grocery stop (for bottled water).
Lisa/Liz: another question - can we walk to a store to buy water
from the GC. We do like bottled water. We have no clue how close everything might be.
I can't believe the 14 day cruise is practically over. My husband and I were talking about it last night - wonder if they got tired of "eating"?
Oh, if ever you need to find me, I am always in line with all the little
children at Scoops in the afternoon - it is my favorite place on deck.
Everyone have a nice long weekend. Liz and Lisa - can't wait to
hear from you girls this weekend. We are headed to NYC to see
Beauty and the Beast on Broadway on Sunday.
8 MORE DAYS of SCHOOL and HOMEWORK for Tyler! (8 days too many!)

Kathy and Dustin - My DH booked the PV and Cabo dives with DCL, but I am sure he would rather do a 2 or 3 tank dive than 1. Dustin, I will have him touch base with you on that.
Kathy - We are booked for the Canopy Adventure at 9:45, I am looking forward to that. We have never booked an excursion on a cruise, usually we go off on our own, but when we checked out the price for this, it was very comparable doing it through DCL, and we figured it would be easier. I am not sure what time my DH booked Randi's for though.

We also have reservations for brunch at Palo on Monday at 11 and High Tea Friday at 3, is anyone planning on that. We did the Wine Tasting on the last cruise in 2001, and my DH and I really enjoyed it, we learned a lot. I haven't booked any spa treatments yet, I just can't decide.

Yesterday was my older DDs last day of HS. She graduates on 6/4. My younger DD still has 2 weeks left of school, everything is winding down. She just made captain of her JV HS cheerleading squad and we are excited for her. :cheer2: I still run crazy as I own a scrapbook store, so I work almost 50 hrs/wk, so this vacation can't come soon enough!!!

Also just wanted to say thank you to all of you for making a newbie feel so welcome on this thread, I can't wait to meet you all, it is going to be an awesome vacation!

Lisa, Liz, Kathy and Lucy - we would like to join you for the Wine Tasting, if that's ok - when are you planning this for?
Debi

wine tasting? whenever it is offered...have no clue....hope it is not
during the PALO brunch - looks like a couple of us are doing Monday
brunch at 11:00 - cool! (we have Sunday and Monday booked!)
Will you be in Disney before the cruise....if so, let us know so JoAnn
can plan a get together.

OH, this weekend, keep in touch with the boards, Liz and Lisa are going
to see "our" Magic

Congrats on both your daughters' successes!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Lucy-if your DH wants to join in on the wine tasting, he's welcome. It really wasn't designed to be a girls thing, just sorta worked out that way. There may a guy or two joining us from our group anyway....if I were a guy I'd like to be the only one in a group of woman...that would be a dream come true for most! :rotfl2:

Lynn
-I hadn't heard about the BBQ, what are the details?

Debi-the wine tasting will based upon the time that's listed in the Navigator's which we won't get to see until we board unless someone posts one beforehand. There is a $12 fee per person. Debi, can you please post you DH's and DD's names, along with your cabin number and what seating you have and I'll repost our thread list so everyone knows everyone!

So, for the wine tasting, (I'm keeping a list) we have interested: Liz, Kathy, Lucy (maybe Bob?), Cathy, JoAnn, me, Debi and her DH. Anyone else?

Liz-the pressure is on for us to get good pics-do ya feel the pressure?

BUT
don't fail us girls!
think how you would feel if you didn't get any pictures for your new
friends - would they really want to spend a week with you if you failed
to come thru for them :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

( :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: )

:grouphug: :love2: :wave2: :love1: :lovestruc
