Hi Jenny, 'Pirates' was definitely too scary and complicated for my kids...ok it was too scary and complicated for me! I had no idea what was going on much of the movie. I haven't read any reviews of the film but I can't imagine it would be recommended for children. Although, Owen is begging to see it. Amy wants no part of it. They both saw 'King Kong' at Christmas and loved it. I thought that was too scary too so what do I know.

Lucy, are you going to ride 'Everest'? I'm glad that you got tickets for 'MNSSHP'. That means we're going to see you guys in October! Are you going to get tickets for a 'Party for the Senses'. I think that they'll go on sale Monday 24 July based on last year.

Hey, I checked out Epcot's Summer Concert schedule. There's going to be an ABBA coverband performing during our weekend. Doesn't that sound like fun?!

JoAnn, My Dad still tells horror stories about teaching me to drive. I agree with Debi. Private driving lessons are the way to go. I can still remember how nervous my Dad made me with all of his yelling from the passenger seat. I dread Owen and Amy learning to drive. Ted and I agree that we're going to try to postpone that milestone in their lives as long as we can which may be possible as living on Coronado doesn't require a car. The island is only 1 square mile and they can walk or ride a bike anywhere. (Learing to ride a bike is the current milestone we're trying to master around here these days!) We don't want them driving with other kids in the car or riding as passengers in a car driven by a teenager. Just the thought of that scares me to death. Basically, I just don't want them to grow up. I like the age they're at right now!

There will be 18 kids and 16 adults at Amy's party tomorrow. Her party is from 1-4pm. I'll be glad when it's over! Last year it ended right on time with a huge thunderstorm.

Ted got called into the hospital for an emergency at 3:30am and he's still there. He was scheduled to go in this morning anyway for attending rounds. He's going to need a nap this afternoon which means he'll try to convince the kids that they need to take a nap too.

We're going to our builder's annual Margaritaville party tonight. It's a really good time with fabulous catered food, a band, Coronas and frozen Margaritas. It's a huge party but it's fun because alot of our friends and neighbors will also be there. I hate going to a party where I don't know anyone. He's got a gorgeous place on the water with a private beach and pool. He's a great builder and a wonderful guy and everyone just loves him. The morning after Hurricane Isabel hit in September 2003 he was in the neighborhood to make sure we were all ok and to check on our houses. Not one of his houses had any damage. Many other houses were damaged...lost roofs, siding, etc. Those builders were nowhere to be found.

OK, I've stalled long enough. I've got plenty of work to do today.

reading the above threads - seems JoAnn and I will be hanging out together - LOVE IT! :cool1: :cheer2:
And, the Splash Mountain thing - I've always wanted to try it...and right now I saw I'm going with Mallory, but once I get there, who knows....... :confused3

JoAnn...the car thing...good luck - i was SO HAPPY when he had driver ed. in school and went out on the highways with his teacher...I still hold my breath
everytime i get in a car with Bryan...I hate it. He is a skinny, lean kid, but his foot must weigh a TON!

Oh, Kathy, you are SO BRAVE, and such a cool mom to throw these parties...everytime I "had" to have a birthday party, it was away from the house, except for the sleepover...then I take a Tylenol PM and go to sleep :cool1: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

STOP the time...I don't want the trip to be here yet, because then it will be over...I know the time will go so quickly.

the sunshine today?
going to see Pirates (Bob and Tyler) and Prada (Lucy) tonight...
do we EVER have NOTHING to do...but the guys wanted to see Pirates
before we get to WDW...

We just got home from the Margaritaville party and I'm a bit toasted. I'd have stayed longer but Ted's got an early morning in the hospital and he wanted to get to bed early. He kept getting paged all evening. It was a real drag. He's got to get home in time for Amy's party tomorrow. I'll write more after I sober up. I don't remember drinking much...It was a great party.

Kathy YOu go girl! :cool1: Hope the party goes well tomorrow! :sunny:

Marshall chickened out of Pirates. We played miniature golf instead which was M&M first try at it. It was quite fun. Then we went to Cheeseburger in Paradise for dinner. Too much good food! :sad2:

Mark and I really think this group should hit Jelly Rolls when we are at WDW. At first he mentioned "Hoop De Doo", but we have some great dinners arranged already. It always sounds like they are having a blast in Jelly Rolls (dueling pianos), but it's also one of those places that we think "the more, the merrier"!! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Rumor has it Lucy will be making her virgin ride on "Splash Mountain" this trip! I am telling you, JoAnn, watch out for Miss Mallory. She'll con you into riding it too!!!

Today Mallory and I walked and she is now my "Personal Trainer"! She coaxed me and we ended up walking 45 minutes! I told her she was hired!

my girlfriend and I saw "Prada" - we LOVED it - theatre was packed
Bob and Tyler and the 'other guys' saw Pirates - once again, theatre
was packed. Bob said it WOULD have been intense for a little guy, Jenny.
I'm glad you decided against it. I DO wish you would have seen Cars, though. ALL the shops in WDW will be filled with 'stuff' from that movie.

Jenny - FIRST try at miniature golf - those kids don't know what their
missing - we have tried many-a-miniature golf at Disney - they are ALL GREAT (except for the heat) - The Pirate's Golf, the one at Blizzard Beach, and Fantasia golf - my kids love miniature golf, but the heat can kill 'ya at Disney.

Last day for the Kutztown Folk Festival - I'm ready for it to end - too much good (and bad for 'ya) food at that festival and I've gotta stop eating it...it just smells so darn good.

Popular opinion says that Marshall was better off missing the movie. pirate: I'm glad he made that decision.

I HAVE to get this ironing done. I worked last night on it. I just hate to iron, but can't stand wrinkled clothes. It's a double edge sword! I need to find a good show while I do it! :happytv:

Team Fisher arrives at MCO in 14 days, 3 hours and 23 minutes!! :cool1: From there a grocery run then HOME!!!! :dance3:

John returns from USO today! :moped: I know his brother and sister are excited to see him. :Pinkbounc :bounce: So is Mommy!!

Hey all, I'm finally back! I had to drive to Long Beach Island and pick up Jessica, then drive home to PA, then pack her up for a soccer camp at LaSalle University in Philadelphia, then back to Brigantine....I left at 7:15am and arrived here at 3pm!

For the record.............even though I am a confessed "wuss," I HAVE ridden on Splash Mountain about 4 times, last spring the Bolusi and Lawall families rode on EE! and I have tried every ride in WDW at least once (only once on RRR, 2x on TOT) I can't promise anything and I KNOW I will have company should I "chicken out!" :crazy2:  :tiptoe:

GL with Amy's party (I even remember the thunderstorm from last summer!)

I have finally recovered from unpacking and am now enjoying my summer. I have recently bought a bike and I've been averaging 60 minutes a day!! (Still no weight loss however!) Also, I HAVE NOT YET SEEN ONE OF THE FILMS I MENTIONED EARLIER! Maybe tonight! :woohoo:

I KNOW I will have company should I "chicken out!"
Me!Me!Me!Me!Me! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

:drive: :drive: JoAnn - I'm TOTALLY exhausted from your thread...you like driving MORE than I do...I'd rather sit in the passenger seat, any day.

Kathy - I remember you telling us about your party also last year...can't
believe I've know all you great people (and not so great :rotfl: :rotfl: )
for a whole year...we've gotta keep this friendship going.

Speaking of friends, Debi, where are you? :confused3
BUT, the one I'd really like to hear from is Allie......is she trying to hide from us? :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Jenny - I'm the same way with ironing - gotta find a good TV show before I can iron - I should have taken my stuff along to the movie last night...no, I enjoyed Prada more than I thought I would...i would never have ironed during the show...JoAnn - you SHOULD see Cars too!

Two weeks FROM TODAY...two families will have arrived in WDW :yay: :yay:

What do you girls think - will I make it to 1,000 by the time we leave? :confused3 :confused3 :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rolleyes1

Comments (nice ones girls) :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Hi everyone
A week from hell!!!
i have been logging in occassionally and I'm enjoying hearing about your summer's. One of my employees a teacher is behaving rather shabbily right now and it's really getting me down.... but i did get to Wimbledon on Thursday with the children and we had an amazing time so that cheered me up a bit. I'm longing for the end of term in one way and then what I have left to do before we break up frightens the life out of me so I wish I had another 8 weeks to get it all done!
Have a wonderful time and think of us Brits, Lucy I will e mail the VMK stuff to you before you leave.
looking forward to seeing as many as possible in NYC in Oct

:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:
Now I am depressed!
Think of me guys when you are partying in the city! :dance3:

Welcome back, Lynn! You sound like me last month! Sorry about the stress, it will make the summer break more sweet! I just met a girl on the beach yesterday who said she was near Manchester, is that near you at all? :confused3

Let's make plans for our show matinee once we all meet in WDW and discuss what people want. Then we'll pass it along to Lynn & Keith and hopefully make some plans! :goodvibes (Oh, BTW, I'm working on the "rents" for October!!!) :rolleyes1 :p

YES, Lucy, I feel certain that you will make it! :rotfl2: :lmao: :dance3:

Listen, I rappelled last week and I'm deathly afraid of heights. Lynn inspired me when I saw her picture zip lining through the canopy in the rain forest last summer. It's nice to know I'll have friends to go shopping with while others try to kill themselves on the rides!!(jkjkjkjk) :wave2:

Jenny, I dreamed about school last night.....I had 33 students and all the other teachers had 24.......what do you think that dream means??? :bitelip:

Debi, you know we all get worried when you don't write!! :grouphug:

I'm home today.....doing stuff i didn't get done this weekend. :coffee: :laundy: :surfweb:
PLUS, running Tyler to voice lessons twice today, and then the orthodontist tomorrow at 8 AM (boy, is HE going to be miserable with that one!) :sad2:

Too excited to work..won't be long till I see all of you...you just don't know what I'm feeling guys, or should I say, WE (Bob and I) are feeling...
you guys mean so much to us and we can't wait to party with you again.

OK, I'm gonna say it again

Allie, where are you?
your best fans are almost there...get ready for us....we are going to cheer you every day, young lady (but in secret of course...we are Disney fans, we KNOW the rules, Allie) :grouphug:  party:

I spent 4 hours in my classroom today and made good headway. I want to get that room looking in shape. I can do the rest at home! :thumbsup2

I still need to accomplish a few things before vacation, but????? :confused3

Mark just called and told me he bought us tickets to the Reds Hall of Fame Induction banquet for SUNDAY NIGHT!! What will I wear??? He is excited because many of the members of the "Big Red Machine" will be present. (for those non baseball people they were the World Series Champions in '75-'76 and possibly the best team of all time.) Geeeeesh! A little notice would have been nice, Fish!!! :lmao:

I am pumped for our trip guys! Williams and Fisher families arrive at WDW in just 13 days!!! :cheer2:

Jenny - I "got" the part of the non-baseball people - why didn't you just
say - for Lucy and Bob! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Just got back from the doctor - let me warn you girls - once you reach 50, it is ALL DOWNHILL with the health problems - not that any of you would know, right, Bill? :confused3 :confused3
I have inflammed bursitis/arthritis in my knees...got some meds - gotta be perfect until next week.

Speaking of what to wear - I must go to a wedding - solo - on Saturday - outdoor wedding - all the girls at work are excited about what they are going to wear - get real, it is OUTDOORS! I refuse to buy anything new at this point, with my trip only a week away :sad2: :furious:

I'm getting very upset - everytime I walk into a drugstore or grocery store, all I see are school supplies, PLEASE - NOT YET! :scared1:

JoAnn - did "we" see any movies?

Lynn - I will miss you, but especially Keith - when this group starts their drinking around the world, I need Keith to help me with the ice cream! :mickeybar Check your PM - i re-sent you our e-mails.

Kathy - not long until the party - GOOD LUCK :cake:

Hi Lucy! Amy's party was yesterday and it went well. Last night we had a bunch of neighbors over to finish up the left over fried chicken, cake and ice cream. I didn't need any of that stuff in the house. The kids were all spinning around in the backyard on sugar highs while the adults sat up on the patio and drank wine. We had San Diego weather around here this weekend.

Today was Day 1 of driving Owen back and forth to Williamsburg for his program at W&M (90 mi r/t). It wasn't so bad as there was no traffic. I think it will get old by the end of the week though. I found someone to carpool with next week so it won't be so bad and we're going to stay up there during the third week.

Jenny, Just wear what you wore on the ship last summer for formal night. You'll look beautiful!

Hang in there Lucy! You're due for a colonoscopy at 50!

Kathy Thanks for the compliment. I called the Hall of Fame office this afternoon and they told me that the dress was business attire. I am thinking "little black dress"? This girl stuff kills me! I am not a girly girl!! I have to rely on my mother on these things. She is very classy..... What went wrong with me! :confused3
