Hey all! Just checking in. Not much here, just work and kids. Mark is just work, work and work!! ;)

So, besides Lucy, myself, and possibly JoAnn, who is in for July?? :yay: As for the Med.....not looking good at this end. However, we could cruise DCL and do WDW. I really want to go back to Castaway Cay. I miss it so much.

So, is Bait Boy and his lovely bride coming south this summer? He sure has "shot us a ghost"!! Where is he????? :confused3 Lucy needs someone to discuss the weather with her!! :rotfl:

TGIF tomorrow!!! :bounce: :yay: :bounce: :yay:

July doesn't look good for us as we'll be in Chincoteague 22-29 July and then in WDW 20-25 August.

We are free the first 3 weekends in July if anyone can visit during that time. We'd love to see you all.

We're rethinking the 14 May transatlantic as the kids would now only miss 16 days of school vice 21. With field day and the last 3 days being useless they're really only missing 12 school days. OK, I'm trying to convince myself that this is a good idea. Ted really wants to do the transatlantic. He thinks that since it's the end of the year it's not as big a deal as it would be to take them out of school for that length of time earlier in the year. What do you think? Our problem is Ted has alot of flexibility regarding when he will leave Portsmouth and report to San Diego. He can leave in May or June. He can also take up to 30 days off. I'm really not an indecisive person so all of this flipflopping around on plans is driving me crazy.

Please don't tell me that you're going to cruise on 16 June now because I just changed our waitlist to the 12 May transatlantic! It will work out so much better for us but I'll be so bummed out if you end up on our originally planned sail date.

Thx Kathy for your enthusiastic support of our reunion! I'm thinking the best time for us is late June which really doesn't fit your schedule. My oldest will be on her school break then (I HAVE to wait until the school year ends - and I won't know for sure until late May.) I'm sure we can get together at some point since we all share such similar interests! :grouphug:

I'm working on it, Jenny! :cool1: I will figure something out (you only live once!) How's the student teacher??

I can't get connected with the travel agent, so that I can be specific about my week for 2007. Hopefully that will happen on Monday. :cheer2:

What a week! I had another leg procedure on Wednesday (will it ever end???) Hopefully, that's it for me for a while! WW isn't working when I'm laid up! :smooth:

Debi, we need a update about April (Kathy is trying to come back and see us!) :yay: How's our girl BTW? How's Bri doing being the only child!

Hey Lucy, I'll figure something out.........it's summer and it's Disney!!!All star here we come!! :stir:

Yesterday Bob booked our July vacation! :Pinkbounc :cool1: :cheer2: :yay: :bounce:

July 23-July 30

Lucy :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: It's a party!!

BCV or BWV?? :rolleyes1

JoAnn The student teacher is going well. She had some discipline problems this week, but after the kids left yesterday, she started to move the desks apart out of teams and into individual rows which will blow them away!!! ;) She's getting the hang of thinking it all through! I have gutted two filing cabinets and dumped a ton!!! I even found DITTO BOOKS!! Remember the purple printed pages before copy machines!!! Just dated myself didn't I! :lmao: This week..............cabinets. When we moved into the new school three years ago we had FIVE DAYS to move (with 18 years of stuff). Consequently, it got "shoved" into the cabinets! :rolleyes2

BWV

yes, YOU won!
convince I'll be happy there over the BCV

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I am a little worried about the pressure of you being happy there though! :guilty: You'll still love me won't you??

The first rollercoaster is on me!!!if you can handle it!!! :rolleyes1

get over it!

The first rollercoaster? why can't I have a diet coke?????? :confused3 :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

ok, my friends, you know our definite dates, I'm waiting............

Well, if it's a Diet Coke you want.........I'll spring for two!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

can you tell? :cool1:

TWO diet cokes, what a gal! :yay:

Where in the world is our CM? I'm wondering if she is having "way too
much fun" - (I hope so - sorry Deb and Micco) :grouphug:

Alex - I miss hearing from you - you DO have a more exciting life
than any of us!
My excitement today, is shopping at Walmart Supercenter..... :lmao:

Boy, what a pain in the @#$#@ ...I'm getting blocked out by this new "Malwarewipe" anti, anti, anti everything...!! I had a bad virus session last week, so I bought this software to combat the bad virus's,etc and it's been a pain in the "thong" ever since... : :furious: :
WHOOOAAA ....!!, did someone say " Thong "" ....!! :lmao: I mean , that's a subject close to my heart :cheer2: Jenny thinks that's why I've been blocked... : :woohoo: Anyhow ,to get back to the weather....It really sucks :sad2:
Well, we got family comiing in,I'm outta here....

Hey! At least you have one!!! :rotfl2:

I miss Alex too!! I know you are having fun, but at least let us hear a little about it (what you can tell without Mom or Dad getting freaked out!!).

Lucy and I are having the same kind of day......

:yo-yo: :yo-yo:

Lucy, you will love the BWV, we've stayed there twice and it's unbelievably nice! :woohoo:

Tonight my school had a "holiday" party. You would think those teachers haven't been out in about 20 years :confused3 ! They were wild! Whatever.....they could never keep us with our bunch last summer! (Certainly, noone was close to OUR John Travolta!) I'm really jealous about the student teacher, Jenny! :smooth: Mine is starting to do more. I have begun to get alittle more organized. We have about 10 weeks left!

My dilemna about June 2007 is the school year. I think Tara would be able to go on June 16th. I possibly could be it depends on the school calendar for next year and snow days. It's really hard to book a trip dependant on snow. The 27th is safer but it may not work for Tara. I'm still trying to get my waitlist set up. Hopefully Monday! :moped:

This summer.........so Lucy is leaving on the 30th, which is Sunday, so when is Jenny leaving (I know you already told, please remind me again... :bitelip: )

We're definitely in for April 9th - 13th! :cloud9:

Lucy ~ July 23-30
Jenny ~ July 23-Aug. 2
JoAnn ~ ?? (c'mon we know you can do it!) :woohoo:
(Can you kidnap BB/JT and the lovely Mrs. and bring them along?)
We'll take JT down to Atlantic Dance to give those kids some pointers!!! :dancer:

Anybody else want to join the party??? party:

I am still determined to get John (12) to Yankee Stadium THIS SUMMER! I am working on it. Mom has saved 3-4 days for me, now it's just the Mark and money factor!! :teeth: I plan on it being just Mom and son which will thrill him (he's always wanted to be an only child!). :thumbsup2

OK, finally booked the April trip, I got the airfare down to $228, the flight we wanted to come in on the morning of the 9th went up to $388, it was ridiculous, so we will be arriving in the evening on the 9th and leaving the evening of the 13th. We are coming with another family (can't say who because Alex lurks and it is a surprise - ha ha Alex) but we should definitely plan at least 1 dinner together. Would also love to spend some time together in the parks. Kathy and Ted - Definitely come and join us for a day, Micco would love to see Ted and perhaps smoke a cigar together.

As far as the Med trip goes, I don't know if we can really swing it. It's going to be a $20,000+ trip, and I just don't know. I'll be eating a lot of macaroni for the next year. LOL. I think we could do the same trip on another cruise line for a lot less. And even if we went, the earliest we could go is the beginning of July. It's Briana's Junior year next year, lots of regents at the end of the year, very crucial time in high school. Micco would love to do the transatlantic, but he is really dreaming. Sorry honey!

Lucy - Tried to send those photos to the other email, but they bounced back to me again. I guess I am just going to have to send them the old fashioned way, snail mail. I will work on it this week.

Anyway, looking forward to Disney the end of this month, only 19 more days till we go. I can't wait to see Alex, I really am starting to miss her big time, it's almost a month since I've seen her!

Anyway, Super Bowl Sunday...GO STEELERS!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Debi

We would love to see you guys in April and Ted would love to see Micco. Just give us a plan and a date and we'll make it work. I would love to get on Expedition Everest but that may have to wait until our August or October trip as I can't even imagine how crowded it will be during Easter week. Just think, Deb, if you do the transatlantic in May, Micco and Ted could smoke cigars and we could go to the spa....Ted and I have been discussing the 2007 trip all weekend. We're going to make Keith at All Seas crazy. He really is great. (Keith that is, but Ted is pretty OK too). We're just trying to figure out how to handle the logistics of a European vacation with two young kids. We need to have our heads examined but we're actually considering doing back-to-back transatlantic/11-night sailings. It may sound crazy but we started pricing out 10+ days of travel/lodging in Spain/France/Italy and it is very expensive and the logistics of travel from place to place will be exhausting. Ted thinks it would end up being about the same cost and it certainly would be more convenient and relaxing.

So we have the three scenarios in no particular order of preference:

#1 Transatlantic sailing and then tour Europe on our own
Drawbacks: We'll miss many Med ports of call, The kids will miss 16 days of school, Logistical headaches and expense of traveling on our own in Europe.
Advantages: We'll only have to fly one way from Europe, We'll get more time on the ship, We'll get to stop at Castaway Cay.

#2 Tour Europe on our own and then 16 June sailing
Drawbacks: We won't get much time on the ship, We'll have to fly roundtrip to Europe, Logistical headaches of traveling on our own in Europe.
Advantages: The kids won't miss any school, We'll visit all of the Med ports. JoAnn and her family may be sailing with us.

#3 Transatlantic and 16 May sailings back-to-back and then fly home from Barcelona at conclusion of 2nd cruise.
Drawbacks: The kids will miss 16 days of school, This will be very expensive.
Advantages: We'll only have to fly one way from Barcelona, We'll eliminate the logistical headaches and expense of traveling on our own in Europe, We'll get more time on the ship, We'll get to stop at Castaway Cay, We'll visit all of the Med ports.

How do you all vote?

Debi I'd love to see Alex's pix. I know she's out there lurking......c'mon Alex! We would love to hear from you. :wave2: BTW Alex, curiousity question. What is the chance that we could ride EE on our March 11-19 trip? Marshall is absolutely DYING to ride it! With it being his birthday that week, I thought it would be cool if it worked out. I have been watching the boards and it appears that it is open daily pending tweekings. Mark and I found a site that someone videoed their trip on it. It looks awesome!

I am with you on the Med. trip. With our 5 it would be 20-25K. I am thinking how many things could be paid for! Maybe it's just not that important to me to travel abroad. It sounded sweet at first, but then the $$ started to smack me back to reality!! :rotfl2: I am just one who loves to be on the Magic wherever she is! Lucy and I talked about how we missed Castaway Cay last summer. I could live there! :sunny:

Kathy You are so thorough you make my head spin!!! :worship: When I get to thinking like that I DO NOT SLEEP!! My advice........go with your heart. If you are committed to doing this, JUST DO IT! Maybe do the old two sided paper with pros and cons. Do that for about a week and see if something just "grabs" you! This is definitely one experience your family will never regret regardless of your decision.

JoAnn My student teacher is full time teaching until Feb. 28th (she's going over a couple of days to do my class while I am in Dallas with Mark). At that point she will slowly give back subjects until her departure. She leaves March 10 (spring break). At that time, she leaves for Australia for finish her student teaching overseas. She will also stay at the end for some touring including Fiji. Don't kids have great opportunitites these days?? :rolleyes1

So, Lucy how was the big WAL-MART/MALL outing yesterday? I never left the house! Is Tyler all ready for his audition? GOOD LUCK TYLER!!! :cheer2:
