***Hey, Hey! Come right in and plan, OFFICIAL OCTOBER 2017 thread!!!***

It was open at 8 am Florida time today. I had to call and reschedule my vacation. I was supposed to arrive today but flight was cancelled and couldn't get new flight until Friday. So I rebooked while vacation to October. And let me just say. After being so stressed about having to cancel my September trip. I am now even more excited about my New October trip!

Thank you. I'm sorry you had to reschedule. Glad you're super excited about your October trip! :dogdance:

Got notification that our MB's have shipped! Received our second envelope from ME, for the trip home (boo!), due to the split stay.

We are not feeling dressing up for MNSSHP, so I picked up a couple of Incredible's shirts for the hubby and I. Still in the spririt of things, but not over dressy. It was different when we lived close to DLR, and could dress up at home and then go. I can't imagine packing my husbands Sully costume.

My friend is making a list of popcorn buckets she would like when we go out, as she wants all the Halloween swag. (don't blame her.) I know that the stores can ship stuff home do you know if the resorts can do the same? The thought of bringing 4+ popcorn buckets in our luggage is unappealing.

Yes, the resort shops will ship your purchases to whatever address you give them. I don't know if they would do it for popcorn buckets that you purchased in the parks, though.

Thanks. I guess it does not hurt to ask when we get there. :)

I don't know what pixie pants look like but I do remember how hot and humid it was when we were at Disney from Oct 1st to 5th last year. It was really hot and very humid!

I was there at the same exact time, funny enough, and yeah it was incredibly sticky. The pants I got are cropped but tighter and stretchy. Apparently they are 95% cotton so that might not feel so great. I might stick with a dress instead.

You can always just ship a box home from the resort. We did this a few years ago.

Ha, I just put in an order for a bunch of Incredibles costumes from Party City! Just seemed like they would be easy to pack and we have every member of the family represented except Violet. We can just say she's being invisible. :)

And we don't know what we're going to do with the 3 Tie-Fighter popcorn buckets we're supposed to get from SWAGS. Give them away probably, who has space in their luggage for that? Hadn't thought of bothering to ship them but it's the night before we check out so doubt we would get the chance. Will let DS keep his and try to pack around it somehow.

Fill them with candy and then pack them?

Has anyone ever worn Old Navy pixie pants to the parks while it's still somewhat hot out? I'm thinking of packing some to wear for some more polished photos on our MK morning. Will I regret that decision? We will be leaving for a break by 1 pm so I don't expect to be there all afternoon in them.
I have been to WDW last 3 years the 1st week of October. Every time I've gone, the locals have said "it is unseasonably warm for this time of the year"...i've heard that 3 times now. I've worn knee length or Capri leggings while there . I don't like to wear shorts and I too want some pictures that I look somewhat polished especially when we dine at the Castle. I'm not going to lie...its hot and humid but I could withstand some heat more than some of my friends. I guess it would depend on what you can handle. If you're like me who would never take the high heels off after dancing all night at a wedding then I say go for it...but just know that you may be turning those pixie pants into pixie dust by 1p.m. ;)

You could fill them with dirty laundry. ;)

Hi! I'm an October person now that Irma had us cancel our September vacation. Trying to get excited again, but the scramble to plan and get things back has been crazy. I've ran the whole range of emotions since last week and am slowly recovering. I see a few others of us September thread people have also migrated over her. :grouphug: Here's to hoping for great replanned trips and great weather for everyone!:wizard:

I was just looking at the park calendar because touring plans updated the crowd numbers and it seems like MK is now open later on 10/2...or do I just need to drink more coffee? A dates seem to have later hours or maybe i'm not remembering what they used to be. I had t get up very early to deal with cell phone technical support so maybe my brain is just foggy. Am I crazy or did we get a few hours adjustments the first week of October?

My touring plans crowd estimates have gone up on random days during my trip - thanks Irma.

Still, not too bad... 2-5 with one 6. And one 5 is the day I leave.

They are the same. The first week of October has had later closings for a while at MK>

gotcha. I must have missed it when they first increased them for 10/2 because I am not in MK on 10/2-I am in Epcot. I guess im also trying to make sense of the TP email that shifts the crowd numbers...Irma maybe. Meh:confused3

Ha, looks like we'll be in Epcot the same day. I'd expect that MK level to not be that low just because it's Saturday of the Columbus Day weekend but who knows.

Its not just people rescheduling from Irma, there are layoffs coming at the end of this physical year, which is the end of this month, so they are factoring in the reduced staffing levels.
