***Hey, Hey! Come right in and plan, OFFICIAL OCTOBER 2017 thread!!!***

@ColoradoMom12 - I missed you, so sorry!!! I would give you an extra fast pass if I could!:p

Welcome to the group, you are now on this list of very important people! :)

Hello group!

First post updates:

I added a link to the planning thread for the Express transportation between parks. I debated adding it because I wasn't sure if it would be there in October, but it seems to be staying. If we find in the next couple of months that it is going away, I will remove it. But for now I thought it would be handy.

Closures - Incredibles Super Dance Party is shutting down, not sure of replacement.

Also under planning websites I added a link for for Touring Plans - most of their services you need a subscription for, but I like it - has an ADR finder which some people may find helpful, will fax in a room request for you, crowd calendars, plans, etc.

Let me know if anyone wants anything else added!

Watching all you guys book your ADRs is exciting!!!

My day is this Friday. Help a fellow traveler out please, I live in Chicago, what time should I be on the website to start? 6 or 7 am?

Thanks! :)

7:00 EST is when it opens (otherwise known as 4:00am here :headache: thank goodness for travel agents who book ADRs)

If I were you I would get on a bit earlier just to make sure everything is working.

I got on right at 7am and had no problem getting connected and getting all my ADR. I am in Eastern time, so it may be 6 your time.

@Farro you probably already know this but I went on before to make sure everything was working but then it didn't show up availability for all our trip - only day 1 - I had to log out and back in after the time for them to show (refreshing the page didn't work).

I did not know that, thanks for telling me! I only have one hard to get ADR, but it's the competitor in me...I will have my page open on 3 different browsers that morning on our computer/laptops - one of them will work! :p

I'm sure they will! Look forward to seeing your results!

WDWprepschool today released a very reliably sourced rumor that Free Dining packages open tomorrow. October, like always, is excluded. However, I've heard that there are a significant number of people who, while waiting for free dining dates, book ADRs daily, even through October so they have some already made when they book their vacation dates. If this is true, it's possible that a good number of tough ADRs could be opening up tomorrow as those people book their actual vacations and cancel their unneeded ADRs. If there's a restaurant or time you wanted but didn't snag, I would be checking throughout the day tomorrow, or whatever day Free Dining gets released. You might get lucky!

My 180 was last weekend, and I was very happy with my results. We have Deluxe Dining and plan on hitting A LOT of character meals for my 4 year old daughter, and a few signatures. We have PPO ADRs every day, but also later ones in case the day before we decide we'd rather sleep in. Here is the current plan.

Arrival Day: We get into Orlando around 10am. We'll check in and head to MK for the afternoon. My plan right now is to knock out Tomorrowland. It's a party night and we won't be attending, so we're doing Hoop Dee Doo Revue.

Day 2: Epcot. Garden Grill breakfast. We'll probably use the PPO and try to hop on Soarin. I have a lunch rezzie for Teppan Edo, but IDK if that'll stick, I just like to have something in there as a placeholder. Early dinner at California Grill and then our first MNSSHP.

Day 3: Hollywood Studios. Hollywood and Vine PPO Fantasmic dining package, and hoping to sign the kiddo up for Jedi Training. Later lunch at Sci Fi. Dinner at 1900 Park Fare.

Day 4: Animal Kingdom. Tusker House PPO and hoping to go right to Safari afterward. Also hoping to replace that with a similar timed ROL package when they're released. Yak and Yeti for lunch. Sanaa for dinner.

Day 5: All over. Ohana breakfast, then straight to Disney Springs for my little girl's BBB reservation. I screwed up and forgot to book that one on our 180 mark, so there wasn't much MK availability. In hindsight I'm glad it worked out that way. I've since watched a few MK BBB experiences on Youtube and it seems like a total cluster&%$#. Lunch at Akershus and some time exploring the World Showcase. Later that afternoon the kiddo is going to a Kids Club and me and the hubby are going to cash in our child swap passes on some big rides all over the place and use Uber to travel between parks. I'm also considering the Express bus service between the parks, but I'm waiting to get some good feedback once the system has been in place for a while. We'll likely finish up at Epcot and have a late reservation for dinner at Yachtsman's Steakhouse.

Day 6: Magic Kingdom. BOG PPO and hoping to get right in line for 7DMT before rope drop. Crystal Palace Lunch. CRT dinner. MNSSHP a 2nd time. I'm going to gamble on it not selling out and not purchase MNSSHP tickets for this night until we've done the first. If we don't want to do the party twice, we'll do CRT for lunch on day 7 and eat dinner at Homecomin' in Disney Springs.

Day 7: Magic Kingdom. 1900 Park Fare breakfast, no lunch unless we skip MNSSHP the day before, in which case it'll be CRT. BOG dinner. It's also possible that we'll go off property and head to the beach for a few hours after breakfast, since my little girl has never seen the ocean. This is more likely if we do the 2nd MNSSHP. Regardless, we'll be back for our BOG dinner.

Departure Day: Trattoria Al Forno breakfast. Our flight doesn't leave until early evening. We may go to Disney Springs or head into a park to do a ride one last time if my daughter had any strong favorite. We're also toying with the idea of leaving Disney to spend a few hours at Kennedy. Who knows? We'll figure it out.

We'll likely be paying OOP for some of my daughter's meals. Overall I'm very happy with the working plan and the options I have built into it. 172 more days!

We're booked at the Poly for Oct 26-30! Another super short birthday trip for older DS. Nervous about ADRs but grateful that it looks like there will be no FD while we're there, because trying to make ADRs during FD when you have a short trip is like being the last, slowest piranha to the party. Just hoping for one Ohana dinner since we're already staying there and skipped it last trip. Going to cut way back on the buffets/character meals otherwise, they're a "good value" with the DP but the food quality isn't there IMHO. We've enjoyed regular table service like The Wave, Coral Reef, and Sanaa way more than any buffet we've tried. So, hoping for a RO offer tomorrow and dining OOP.

Hellooooo all!!!! Our family of 5 is going October 5-12 and staying at BCV. My brother and his wife will be joining us for their first Disney trip, and we're all very excited!!

Adults can't wait for Food & Wine but the kids are less than thrilled about it, haha! They are more excited about Star Wars!

Here are our plans so far:

10/5- arrive and relax at the hotel. Unsure about dinner yet, need to hop on it! Thinking Raglan Road or Cape May.
10/6- lunch at Akershus- Epcot day
10/7- breakfast at Crystal Palace- MK day
10/8- Fantasmic package- lunch at Hollywood & Vine- HS day
10/9- breakfast at Cape May, park break day, dinner date at Narcoossee's
10/10- waiting on Tiffins ROL package to open- AK day
10/11- breakfast at Garden Grill with Chip and Dale- Epcot/park hop day

We will be there Oct 13-17 :goodvibes This will be a trip of many firsts for my family. This will be the first time we will be there in Oct, first time staying at AKL, first time for F&W and first time for MNSSHP. Needless to say my family is beyond excited esp when I told them after our last trip this past Dec that we would not be back for 2 years. Then the school district gods gave my kids a few days off in Oct for the first time ever and I just couldn't resist :cool1:

@LieutLaww I had such problems with Mama Melrose this morning too! I couldn't get a thing booked on line. Availability seemed to cycle in and out. I couldn't get anyone on the phone either due to Free Dining being released. I had all but given up but then decided to call back on a whim and the very nice CM got me booked (for a party of 10 no less). Granted, it's not the greatest time of day, but there is still hope - keep checking!
