How did the trip from MCO to US go? How did your DD fare through the hurricane ?

Thanks for asking. After getting good advice from you all, I was able to manage, quite easily, getting from MCO to US!! Piece of cake. I worried over nothing, as usual. Thankfully, this group was able to give me what I needed. See.....this isn't truly a personal discussion, but a thank you for the advice those of you here gave me. Didn't make any wrong turns!!!! Yay me. I try to tell others that driving in Florida, especially central Fl, is really easy because it's so well marked. Well, that was certainly the case here.
Getting out of Orlando was a whole different thing though. Our cruise was cancelled, obviously. Flight home on Monday was cancelled. I checked at the Car Care Center to see what my car rental return options were...was told to return to either the CCC (when they opened their offices on Tuesday), or to the Dolphin since valet took care of it all. I did that....even went inside to talk to the poor overworked Alamo rep. She told me it was no problem...they were backdating all returns back to Monday. However, when I got home I found an addtl $93 charged by Alamo....$44 of which was a separate charge...I believe for tolls but I have a Sunpass transponder that I used!! I called them, they told me they would remove all addtl charges, that there had been glitches...aka lets see who notices the addtl charges and if we can get away with it!!!! That was on Saturday, as of today, no refund. So, an email has gone out. If it isn't resolved quickly, I won't be recommending Alamo anymore!!!
Dd fared very well. She lost three shifts (20 hrs) at US, but they were all paid for shifts that occurred when the park was closed due to Irma. She never lost power. Did end up with a boil water issue after a water pipe broke..but I believe that has been resolved.
All's well that ends well.

Glad to hear. My DD also came through with no issues. Thanks for the heads up on Alamo. We are using them on our trip in November. I will keep a close eye on my bill!

An update on the Alamo situation....I got a response to my email. I was told that Alamo deducted the addtl day's rental as well as the gas option. That's what the $44.42 charge was....and it was a charge, in addition to the $267 rental (the agreed upon total was supposed to be $218 but it turned into $222 when I got the car). I went back to my online checking account...and lo and behold, now it's showing as a credit!!!! Not sure what happened, and how it changed from a charge last week to a credit now, but it has worked out. Finally!!! Alamo has redeemed themselves.

I was able to change our flights down from 5pm to 9am (yaaa!). Now I have to finagle the rental car. Currently holding a reservation for a 7pm Saturday pick up at MCO with a return to the Car Care center Tuesday at 6pm for $80. When I move the pick up time back to 1pm, the price jumps to $140!
So I've been playing with times & found as long as the pick up time is no greater than 2 hrs behind the drop off, I keep the lower rate.
Darn trip, soon as I get one piece settled, another pops out!
