Hey Ernesto...Try, Just Try and Ruin My Vacation

Quoting the Wicked Witch of the West....just let Ernesto try and ruin my vacation this week. Actually I do not resemble her at all, I am a red haired lady from VA....

We arrive wed morning, right now before anything happens and we know we are in for a good soaking while we are there, one way or another,but we are hanging tough and not going to let anything ruin our trip. It is all a matter of attitude and I am not letting a bunch of rain drops formed into clouds ruin the long planned vacation this coming week/weekend.

DH and I will tough it out (and it is his b-day too on thursday) and if a storm hits we will take some down time and return to the parks when they open and it is safe. If it rains a lot, oh well we have ponchos and last I looked we do not melt...

Who is with me on this positive attitude thing, our vacations are this week and we are ready to go and have fun and Ernesto can go jump in the lake, or rather the gulf where he will not hurt anyone....

I am with you 100%....i leave on wednesday morning also for a short trip and I refuse to let Ernesto ruin it!!!! What better place to be than Disney even it is pouring rain!!!

Same here....we are leaving Thursday morning come hurricane or high water!!! Hopefully Ernesto will fizzle out before it gets to the gulf and noone will have to worry about it.

we will be here too!! arriving on Wednesday about 9:40 am and we will be
having a very possitive attitude about this and if it rains oh well, i am going to buy ponchos and bring those extra pair of shoes just incase the others get a little wet lol!!

if it gets a little crazy with "Mr. E" we will have some playing cards ready and bring our LCR game with us too, & of course a lot of munchies as well!!

We are right there with you! We also arrive early Wed morning and just like your DH, DS' birthday is on Thursday (he is turning 1). A little rain won't stop us from enjoying Disney. A full blown hurricane, maybe -- but we will definitely be there, planning on enjoying every minute of our trip!

We'll be ariving (hopefully) on Wednesday 8/30 at 7:25am from Seattle. As long as we arrive on our scheduled flight, I don't mind hanging out in our hotel 'til the storm is over. I just don't want to get diverted to another city, and have to figure out what to do next. We weathered out Hurricane Jeane in 9/04, and didn't mind the little troubles that it brought for us.

This is typical as hurricanes make initial landfall (over Dominican Republic/Haiti). It is expected to strengthen again as it passes over the warm waters of the Gulf.

Yes, possibly. Even his path is still very much unknown and could head toward texas or off toward the Atlantic or anywhere in between. They just don't know. And his strength could change in either direction as well. Let's all hope and pray for the best case scenario for all involved and/or in its path, wherever that may be.

We are going to Florida to visit our best friends, we will be there Thursday night till monday night. We were at WDW in 2004 for Frances, it was ok and very safe. I am going to Florida no matter what!! Good luck everyone

I'll tell you what I'm so glad to have this board and all of you. Me and my fiances trip is 8/31-9/10 and have been looking forward to it for months. As soon as Ernesto was pathed toward central florida i've been debating to myself on what to do. But I have to say all of your positive attitudes toward going to the world have really put me in an optimistic feeling and for that I thank you.

We're here now and have been through a couple pretty heavy downpours. Most people scurry inside & if you are prepared with your ponchos & crocs, you can just keep on keepin on! The only time we kind of hid inside was during the heavy lightning & thunder, other than that we've gone about our park touring. My kids have loved playing in all the puddles and being able to get soaking wet. The air is warm so its almost refreshing. If you are not the type to be out in the rain there is plenty of things to do inside, many of the rides/attractions are inside. You just have to walk between them. The rainy times have been our favorites, actually.

Im sure iwth a hurricane the rainstorms might last longer & the winds would be stronger but I bet you could keep on doing the parks without a problem.

OMG - we might be on the same flight!!

We leave tomorrow at 8:05am (outta kennedy- Jet Blue)so if you are on the same flight look for us (me, wife, son(11)daughter(5) on the plane come and say hello (I have a goatee and hazel eyes) we can fight ernesto together.

Ernesto aint gonna ruin our time.
