I just got back from the Boston DISmeet (aka Jerry aka :goodvibes ), and it sure was a whole heck of a lot of fun! There were over 50 people in attendance, and four New England States were represented! The weather was beautiful, and a fun time was had by all!

We started our meet at Faneuil Hall and the Aquarium, where we saw 7 of the 15 Mickey statues (the rest are out for repair due to vandalism). We had our group picture taken with the Lobster Mickey Statue! I'm sure that someone will post a picture of that soon :)

After visiting the Mickey statues, we started walking to the Corner Mall Food Court for lunch! Along the way, we were treated to some free potato chips from the unofficial Jerry Sponsor, Lays!

After lunch, we started walking towards the Swan Boats, along the way, NHAnn and I gave a capering demonstration on Boston Common. Surprisingly, no one joined in. Even more surprisingly, no one called the cops.

We then took a spin out on the Swan Boats, and confused many folks by calling across the pond to the other boat of DISers "Do you have Jerry? Is Jerry with you?"

Oh, and Edcrbnsoul was nice enough to have some t-shirts made up for the meet! Please contact him if you would like a DISmeet Boston commerative t-shirt. They are the must have fashion item of the year!

Thanks to everyone who came to the meet! It's great to put faces to the names (and smilies).

Karen aka :scared1:

NHAnn has arrived home, and released her hot tired feet from her sneakers!!

Thoroughly enjoyed JERRY and The Caper on the Common :teeth:
and DH did too. (He didn't know I could caper  )

A beautiful day to spend in Boston and great fun to meet everyone! I'll have my pics put on a CD and ready to post in a couple of days!

Thanks Karen for doing such a great job organizing, and to Ed for having the T-shirts made up!

:D Thanks, Karen, for arranging such a fun meet. I wish I could have stayed longer. I really enjoyed meeting fellow DISers. Our Boston weather fully cooperated - a gorgeous day!

Pssst --- I saw NHAnn capering on our walk back from the Aquarium to Fanueil Hall...she was quite good at it! :D

:boat: would like to most respectfully request PICTURES!!!!!!!! Pleaseandthankyouverymuch......

Well, don't know if Karen found her present or not on the other thread, so I'll give it to her here also......

:flower3: :rose: :drinking1 :cheer2: THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!

We had a terrific time. My dh asked me the meaning of the word caper on the way home!!! He had never heard it before. Poor, sad soul!! It was really fun, especially folllowing Karen around, with her arm held high, showing us the way via MICKEY!!!!!
Thanks Ed for the great shirts.

It was so wonderful to meet all of you and show my dh that I am not alone in my Disney wackiness!!! So, has anyone seen antkim or castlegazer recently???

haha goofy!! We did FINALLY make it to the Common and even took a swan boat ride! We had a ball as well unfortunately with 5 kids(3 under the age of 2!) and a mother that had recent back surgery we lost the group!! I can't apologize enough! I'm going to upload some pictures now so I will write more later!!

I'm having trouble posting the definition of caper from the dictionary....it just won't post....

/
Webster says caper is " to skip about in a playful manner " .....
I guess that sums it up ;) :Pinkbounc

It WAS nice to get an understanding look rather than a "what is wrong with you?" look when standing in front of the Aquarium you could look up the street towards the old State house without the elevated highway obstructing the view (thanks to the BigDig)... and with some of the tall buildings with pointed or turret-like tops...it was reminescent of lookign down Main St at the castle...only a DISer would understand ;) :)

I was also a witness to some capering :earseek: :p
and also lots of fun in Boston!!! ::yes:: :teeth:

Thanks so much Karen for organizing such a wonderful day!!::yes::

I'm just taking a rest today after our long walk from Vancouver and I'll be ready to start the second leg(since we're walking) of the journey to Orlando tomorrow. That was so funny!! :hyper:

It was great fun meeting all of you!

Joanne
:earsgirl:

We have also arrived home safely.
Thanks again to Karen (now an honoroay Foley) for organizing such a fun day and for getting us the perfect weather we had. Also thanks for picking the best day for a meet in Boston... after the parade that went through the city yesterday, a bunch of Disney nuts following a picture of Mickey Mouse held high by our fearless leader couldn't have looked all that unusual :) :teeth: :hyper:

Thanks again, Karen! You did a great job.
We really had a blast, well, except for the aching feet. But hey, at least that makes us feel like we really were in WDW. ;)

And it was so nice meeting everyone. Its great to put faces to the names, and theres nothing like spending a day with other Disney freaks like us. I feel bad for the poor people that got stuck on our boats with us. They were probably sick of hearing all the Disney references, LOL!

O.K. I will try to post a few pictures!!

Thanks for posting the pictures, Kim! Who is that orangey guy with the big ears? Is he just some guy who jumped into our picture to be funny? And what is up with that claw hand he has?

Karen

I just wanted to add another thank you to Karen for organizing such a great day! Also, thank you Karen, Marsha and Ed(and family)for waiting for us "slackers" to finally arrive at the common!(and I'm sure there were more that just gave up!! LOL)
I'm so sorry for being tardy! LOL we tried!! Thanks Ed for the shirts-I will be wearing mine tomorrow!!
It was great to put faces to names!! Wish I had more time to really get to know you but with 60  's walking around Boston I could barely remember my own name!! LOL
So who's available in August!! LOL

Kim

Karen,
I was waiting to see the picture of that crazy lady who DOVE onto the ground in front of the lobster Mickey!!! Somehow not only did I get lost but some of my pictures did as well!

Kim

Thanks Kim. Great shots. Loved your shirts. Dh now knows I'm not alone in my craziness, even said there was no way he was wearing matching family shirts.

We loved having Marsha as an honorary part of our group. You can hang with us anytime. As far as August goes, anyone going to be in WDW then?

Well, my feet are screamin' at me. looks like different shoes are in order for WDW. An excuse for more shopping. And it's okay that you guys broke off from us. We missed having you along on the boats but maybe another time.

:worship: Had alot of fun it was good to meet everyone we hope to able to do it again sometime.

I had a great time being part of AntKims family, and Eds family, and Goofy4Timks family. And meeting everyone, and riding the T and not getting lost, and having company on the way back (Karen)

Sheesh, I am pooped, let's do it again soon.
