I'm curious because so many people seem to think that homosexuals CHOOSE that lifestyle. As a hetero woman, I've never had to make a choice to be heterosexual, so I'm curious as to why people feel that homosexuals make a choice?

Seriously..NO. OF course not. It wasn't a choice...Sexual orientation IS NOT a choice. It was just the way God wanted ME.

I wonder how many people who "think" they are heterosexual are in fact homosexual. They just grew up thinking they should be a certain way and never explored what they were really feeling inside. I think some of the homophobes are really just afraid of what they really are.

No, I didn't choose, it's the way I am. Now I can believe that there are some people for whom it is a choice. For example, bisexuals may decide it is too much hassle being with someone of the same sex so they decide to be heterosexual. BTW, I don't believe sexuality is necessarily an either/or thing....I think there is a contiuum and there are some on one side, some on the other, the rest in between somewhere. So, the 'in-betweens' could easily decide to go one way or the other but for the folks on either end - no, not a choice. Hmmmm.....maybe those people who insist it is a choice are the ones in the middle.

Seriously though, I think the "choice" logic for some goes something like this:

We all choose to be in relationships with others. So although you may be attracted to someone of the same sex, you CHOSE to act on that attraction. You chose to be homosexual. Therefore, because of your choice, I am entitled to look down upon you as a wayward sinner.

Hmm could this be as offensive as asking a Homosexual if he or she choose? As many will tell you they didn't have a choice. They just knew.
