I looked on the Speedway website and I couldn't tell if they carry the same items as Hess. Does anyone know?

Beginning next week, all three Hess Express Gas Stations on Walt Disney World property will be rebranded as Speedway.

As part of their $2.6 billion buyout of Hess in 2014, Speedway is in the process of rebranding over 1000 Hess locations.

Each gas station will be closed from 5am through to 5am the next day for the work, with the schedule currently looking like:

  • July 14 - Boardwalk Resort
  • July 15 - Downtown Disney
  • July 16 - Magic Kingdom Car Care Center
The Hess brand has been at Walt Disney World since taking over from ExxonMobil in 2004.

They will continue to carry the same items. All of the other Hess stations in Central FL were re-branded back in February. The name changed and the trim color is now red.

Perfect. We love to go pick up water, beer, soda...from the BWV. Thanks for the reply.

Speedway is usually the cheapest gas in our city. They also have a card you scan at the pump to save another 3 cents a gallon. Maybe gas prices will drop at Disney.

Our local Hess became Speedway about two months ago. DH thinks they raised their price a few cents - they were always the cheapest here (compared to other local gas stations) we thought.

Just watch prices. Speedway tends to do very large jumps on price at once. My wife was in Ohio today and it went from $2.309 to $2.799 in seconds. Our local Speedway remains at $2.549.

We don't have Hess around us but I'm sad to see it go. When we were at WDW during a hurricane (can't remember the name but it went right through Orlando), Hess stations on property didn't raise their gas prices to gouge tourists. Not sure if that was a Disney edict or if Hess did that on their own. Ever since then, we always purchase gas from Hess when we are in Florida.

It's against FL Law to raise prices to what would be considered gouging when a storm is on it way.
