We are going to a soccer tournament in Lancaster Pa and I would like to add in a stop in Hershey PA to take my kids to Hershey Park for the day and possibly stay overnight. I need to find a discount for the tickets. $57 a ticket for five of us is a bit much. Does anyone know of any discounts out there for tickets??

How about hotels? Any recommendations?? It looks like the room will cost us $266 for one night since we wanted to be close by since we are not familiar with the area. TIA

I saw a coupon in my local CVS for $12 off tickets. There were tons of those coupons. For five that will save you about 60 bucks! I just checked their website and here are some other places you maybe can find coupons:

Coupon Partners
June:

Chick-fil-A - Baltimore, Central Pennsylvania and Philadelphia

CVS Pharmacy - Central Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia and Wilkes-Barre

Dairy Queen - Baltimore, Central Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Washington DC and Wilkes-Barre

Friendly's - Baltimore, Central Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC and Wilkes-Barre

Stop and Shop - New Jersey and New York

Taco Bell - Central Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey New York, Philadelphia and Wilkes-Barre

Wawa - Central Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey and Philadelphia

Also, have you checked the Hampton Inn near Hershey? I think its under 300 with tax, but thats for a 1 bedroom suite and has a good free breakfast. I swear by their breakfast, its so good, it has hot and cold items, juice, cereal, muffins, yogurt - the list goes on. If you get a regular room, it can be up to 100 dollars cheaper. GL!

Thank you! I have found those same coupons at my local Burger King and $60 bucks is a nice chunk of change! I guess I will just have to bite the bullet and spend $231 for the park tickets and $266 for the room. The two resort hotels at Hershey want $299 and $550 and that's for one room...we need two rooms since we are a family of five!!!

If I were you I'd go with the 1 BR suite at Hampton Inn. That way you don't have to pay for 2 rooms and you get free breakfast for everyone, fill up before you go to the park. The suite is more than enough room! I stayed in one it had 2 beds and a pull out sofa. The sofa was in the living room and it had a door to separate the rooms. It is not far from the park at all, the front desk will be really helpful in getting you there if you have trouble. :goodvibes

I just booked a 1 bedroom suite at the Country Inn & Suites by Carlson Hershey at the Park for a total of $266. It too has a separate living room with a pullout sofa and bedroom with 2 queens. I can cancel up until July 10th with no charge so I can continue to look for ticket discounts. It kills me to pay $500 for one night/day:(

I just wanted to add that this hotel also has a complimentary breakfast included:)

Marriott's Townplace Suites in Harrisburg is 179/night and would sleep 5 (2 queens and a sleeper sofa) and it has free breakfast. Anything in Harrisburg near 322/283 will be an easy drive to Hershey. It's about 8 miles from the park. That area has a fair number of hotels because it's close to the airport.

We stayed at the Country Inn and Suites on Jonestown Road in Harrisburg - 4 miles from the park, I believe. We booked 2 rooms for 6 of us (dd15 was there on a choir trip), and even with the 6 of us standing right there, they handed me 1 key, until I told them I had 2 rooms booked. It was a great rate, free hot breakfast, indoor pool, and clean. It took less time to get to HP than it did when we used to stay at the hershey lodge.

Check out the free preview the night before.

ETA, just checked for myself, and they now have studio rooms and one bedroom suites with sofa beds.

We just returned from Hershey. We booked our room at the Hershey Lodge with their "Kids stay and eat free" promotion. We have 3 kids so we stayed 5 in a room bringing a twin air mattress for DS. We bought our 2adult tickets and received all3 kids tickets for free. The Lodge also provides the shuttle so we didn't have to pay for parking. We also were able to enter the park an hour early to access the new coaster and several other rides before the crowds hit. This wasn't a huge deal since we were there mid-week but would be really important if it was Friday-Sunday.

We just stayed at the Best Western in that area (I think it was near an airport). It was about 15 minutes away, but very worth the drive! The hotel was very nice and clean. We paid $80something for a suite to sleep six.

The closer you get to Hershey the more you are going to pay...If you can stay out on Eisenhower Blvd (Rt. 283 connector towards the airport and turnpike) it is cheaper and there is a nice Courtyard, Wyndham, La Quinta, and a brand new Sleep Inn there. You can go to Any Giant Grocery store and get tickets cheap. If you can get to a AAA, they have discount tickets for HP.

PM me and I can get you the details on these hotels...They are within 10 mins of the park and there are restaurants and shopping near by.
