Is there any way to get a better rate at Hotel Hershey or The Hershey Lodge? They are asking $400 per night at Hotel Hershey.....:scared1:

I grew up in Hershey and love the hotel. But you're right it is crazy expensive. The only discounts I know of are AAA and AARP. They have some packages on their website which may also help.

You can have a fantastic experience at Hershey without staying at the lodge, let alone the Hotel :scared1:

There are so many places in and around Hershey that are super nice. It is a place you sleep, and park the shoes. check the AAA. I know the comfort inn season rates are crazy, but Hummelstown, Grantville, even Lebanon are near by as is Harrisburg.

I always use the one at Grantville, at the I 81 and route 743 intersection I think. The AAA in season rate last time was $58. They have a light breakfast, clean rooms, and nice area.

Totally agree on you about the sky-high rates. We're going for a week this summer, and opted to rent a guest hosue on a working dairy farm in the area. The kids can fish in the creek, gather eggs, and play with the kittens. I just figured I'd mention it as a different option. Of course, if you're only going for a couple days, and you're jsut looing for a place to sleep, there are cheaper hotels a short drive from the parks.

I live 15 minutes from Hershey, and I agree - during the summer the rates at the Lodge and HH are RIDICULOUS. If you don't mind driving about 10 minutes more, I'd recommend you check out the hotels on Eisenhower Boulevard. There are several right by the Harrisburg Mall and several restaurants - the dining options around Hersheypark are surprisingly limited (and horribly crowded!)

All hotels in Hershey during the summer are ridiculous. I agree with PP, look in Grantville. There's a nice Mainstay there that just opened a few years ago. The rooms are quite large and include a full size fridge, a microwave, and a range. The hotel also has an indoor pool, indoor miniature golf, and indoor basketball.

I bid for our Hershey Hotel this summer on Priceline. We got the Marriott Courtyard on Eisenhower Blvd for 4 nights for $50 a night...normally $140 to $190 a night.
