Hershey Lodge

We are staying two nights to see candy cane lane and sweet lights..one at Hershey lodge (Thursday the 10th) and one at Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey (Friday the 11th) free on points. We will be at the Sheraton Friday night so we can do candy cane lane that night when it opens. We'll head home Saturday. I refused to pay Friday's rate at any Hershey owned hotel...lol

I was so excited to see $149 that I checked right away, hoping it was open longer so I could pull the trigger. Someone must be paying whatever that Friday night rate is, as there are no rooms available. Not sure I can justify the $229 for Saturday night, as I know I paid about $100 less last year at the Hampton Inn By The Park. The new water area is very nice at the Lodge, but I don't know if I can justify that.

Yes I agree. That's why we are staying on Thursday and elsewhere on Friday. In addition to the first night of candy cane lane, Friday is Veterans Day so rates are higher.

I have a conference there at the end of March. I was thinking about bringing along the family since the room is paid for by work. However, is there anything to do there if the park is closed?

Also, OP, I go every year for a conference (it is usually in May but is in March this year), and the Lodge is nice. The lobby is beautiful and the restaurants are good, albeit a little slow. The rooms are big and clean. The outside of the hotel looks a little like a HoJo, but it's totally different inside. The biggest complaint is that there can be very long walks from your room to lobby or pool depending on where your room is.
I haven't been there since the indoor pool turned into an indoor water park, but the indoor pool used to be nice.

In March you could do the Chocolate Factory. If the weather is ok, you could do Zoo America. You could check the schedule for the Giant Center - maybe there is a concert or the Hershey Bears could be at home.
