Has anyone ever stayed here? Has anyone ever gotten a significant discount? Thanks.

Well, I live next door to Hershey. Have visited the Lodge many times and have eaten there at least 100 times! I can't tell you about any discounts, but I can tell you the lodge is gorgeous and you will love staying there! AMke sure you eat in the Circular Dining Room.

Stayed in the Lodge back in '99. Nothing too fancy, clean and nicely decorated. The Hershey Hotel is the more upscale version. We paid something like $180/night back in '99 and just called the resort directly for that rate. Not sure about discounts either.

The Hershey Lodge is a great hotel. I'm not sure about discounts but you can always ask if they are running specials. Hershey Park has great Holiday decorations so it may be difficult to get discounts now.

The Hotel Hershey is VERY expensive. We booked it directly, so probably were stung a bit, usually I don't mind if the hotel is nice enough. The hotel public areas are very lovely, however the 'family' restaurant was pretty bad, service was awful and the food was not great, would not eat there again. I would imagine the posh restaurant is much better (no kids?). I thought the room we had (considering how much we paid) was not great. Nice enough room, but thought it was not worth the price, not even close. I was very disappointed, it wasn't at all that was described on their online site, perhaps the rooms are going through upgrading or something and we got an old room. I would probably save money and stay at the lodge next time. The bar area was really nice at The Hotel Hershey, no kids after 8pm though.

A discount for the Hershey Hotel would be a must.

I've stayed at each, the Hotel Hershey recently and the Lodge a long time ago... Lots of chocolate to be found at both places-- full-sized chocolate bars at check-in and plenty of Hershey kisses everywhere you turn. :cheer2:

Although both are family-oriented, I prefer the Hotel Hershey for an adult getaway. The newly renovated spa there is WONDERFUL and Sunday brunch in the circular dining room is DELICIOUS.

The Hershey Lodge is a little less pricey, and still very nice. I think that they both offer a AAA discount if you're a member. HTH

There's a Hilton about the same distance away from the parks as the Hotel Hershey. The Hilton might be cheaper and is more convenient to restaurants and fast food places.

Hey! I'm from Hbg. also. :wave2:

But I think the one you are talking about is the Hershey HOTEL, right? That has the circular dining room. Boy, has it been a long time since then.........great memories, though.

Oh gosh I forgot about the chocolate!! DH and myself don't like it, but DS5 was completely made up when the lady at check in gave him this huge pile of Hershey bars, then told him if he needed any more to come back! He is still working his way through them. I might have a few complaints about the hotel, but trust me my son didn't care about the room after that!! He's going to expect chocolate every time we check into a hotel!!

Try the suites at Hershey. We stayed in a gorgeous 2 Bedroom/ 2 bath Condo for $89 per nite. The place was great. It is located next to the outlets. There is an indoor pool. They offered a tour for timeshare sales and were giving $150 after the presentation. So.......our trip cost us $30 plus tax for two nites. They are a BlueGreen Vacation Resort, so you can book on their website, travelocity, travelzoo, or trip advisor. Highly Recommend!!!!!!

We stayed at the Hershey Lodge this past August. It is a very nice place. They have bus transportation to and from the lodge which is real convenient. They have an indoor pool as well. I found it to be a little pricey (we paid around $240 a night with a AAA discount), but it was reasonable considering the dumpy Travelodge down the road wanted $209 a night.

We stayed at the White Rose Motel this past July and it's about 2 miles from the park on Chocolate Avenue and it was VERY NICE and CLEAN and also reasonably priced.

About 1 mile from the main entrance to HersheyPark, you will find Marriott's Springhill Suites. This hotel has a free deluxe continental breakfast, 2 queen beds, and a sleeper sofa. You also get a fridge and microwave. There is an indoor pool and free parking. It is close to the park and surely a savings over the 2 HersheyPark :flower: lodging options.

I agree with the White Rose Motel, stayed at the lower priced Hershey Lodge and was not impressed especially for the almost $200 we forked out for it. Its not worth the money in my estimation. We stayed at the White Rose just this summer for around $100 a night, and its not the Hilton but the family that runs it is incredibly nice, and the motel is very clean and well run.

we stay at the lodge every year... they renovated all the rooms in the past 2 years... i think the rooms are nicer at the lodge than at the hotel... nothing beats staying on site just like at disney... having the bus drop you off right buy your room cant be beat.....the bears den is also great they have a cartoon breakfast that the kids love... they also have a kids check in desk and daily activities... i booked real early last year and got 179 weekday and 199 weekend... we stay about 4 night every year and just love it!!!

My husband and I usually visit Hershey during the summer when we visit his parents in Delaware. I was really impressed with the Comfort Inn in Hershey. It was very nice and very affordable.

Go to the hershey park website and sign up to their email list. You will receive notification of different events and special things going on in the park, and sometimes, although less frequently lately, you will get notice of some special package rates for staying at both the Hershey Lodge and the Hotel Hershey. We have stayed at the Lodge and at some offsite hotels. I would compare it to staying on and offsite at Disney. Christmas at Hershey is supposed to be very nice, and I believe they have some nice dinner shows at the Lodge. Good Luck!

Christmas at Hershey is supposed to be very nice,
We went Dec '98. It was FREEZING.....people were huddled inside the gift shops trying to keep warm. Hot choclate was a hot commodity ! Only a handful of rides are open. We left after only a couple hours because it was just too freezing---it was in the 30's that day (mid Dec). The trolley tour with Santa was fun.....not sure if they still do this though ? We also went to a Kenny Rogers concert at the Hershey stadium.
