So far, we have identified these as places we know we want to visit. . . . what am I missing? Keeping in mind our kids are NOT foodies. . they don't really like to try anything new or unusual so upscale is generally wasted on them.

IHOP (like 4 times - dh's fav for bfast):rolleyes1
McDonald's Bistro (well, we have to take the kids :confused3 )
Sweet Tomatoes (I know, it's a chain, but we don't have any)
Sharks Underwater Grill (SeaWorld)
Race Rock (huge NASCAR fans so we gotta go)
Boston Lobster Feast (another chain. . again we don't have any)
NASCAR Grille (of course)
Pastamore (most likely just for breakfast)
Margaritaville
Bubba Gumps
Crown Colony House (Busch Gardens)
Sal's Market Deli (take out pizza for dinner on cabana day)
Joe's Crab Shack (never been, don't have one in our area)
Chick Fil A (I know, I know, another chain, but none in our area)
Mythos (probably)
Finnegans
Enchanted Oak Tavern
Some place for excellent fish. . . Bonefish Grill or something similar (suggestions?)

Are we covered??

You must do Mythos. Don't worry about the kids. If they will eat a hamburger, chicken fingers, pizza, ravioli, or steak, they will love it. I predict they will also, like my kids, love the Rice Krispie Treats presented sushi style for dessert. As far as the adults go, we both thought this was the best meal we had in Orlando last trip. And we did the dining plan at Disney.

Looks like a plan. We have gone to Emerill's and sent the kids to NBA City because my kids don't appreciate a buffalo steak or anything else that we ordered. The kids finished early and sat outside Emerill's watching us eat like they were homeless. Take the kids to the McDonald's on Sandlake and I drive. They have a Family Guy pinball machine upstairs that even I can beat.

Is that THE McDonalds?? You know. . .the big one with the gift shop and the Bistro menu??

Race Rock shut its doors over the Summer, but Nascar Grille did a huge remodeling job late last year.

We will be there end of April/beginning of May. Hopefully they will still be open, but I will call to be certain. Thanks for the heads up.

Uuumm. . . do you know why they close?

Race Rock is definitely closed. Their website tells you they have closed.

I see it now. I was using a link I had, but when I typed in the address directly into the browser, I got the page that said Race Rock is closed permanently. Very sad.

So, anyone have any ideas to replace Race Rock?? It was really the experience we were looking forward to. Any other NASCAR type places around?? Besides NASCAR Grille, of course. Any racing affiliated shops and such we should know about??

DH has an EXTENSIVE collection of diecast and tons of other stuff as well, but he's always interested in seeing what's out there. Specifically, new Dale Jr. stuff. . .he's already got a few tshirts, two new drivers jackets and a couple of pieces of die cast, but always on the lookout, ya know :rolleyes1

Some good choices there, We had dinner at Pastamore and was very good as was NBA [not on your list], also Finnegans we where lucky as our meal coincided with the Blues Brothers playing outside, DD got her photo with them as they seem to frequent the bar and restaurant .
We ate at Bahama Breeze on I`Drive , saw recommendations on here and it was excellent ,so will be there a few times this year, and as its DD holiday as well, we will hit her Fav, McD`s a few times :headache:

Moonfish. A little bit pricey, but so good. It's near Universal. Take Sandlake going to the Dr. Phillips area.

I read about that place as well. That's on my radar. I think there are several places owned by the same company, Moonfish Bonefish Grille I think have same parent company. I understand Moonfish is used to "park attire", if you will, and won't bat an eye. DH refuses to wear anything other than shorts on vacation. He says if he needs a tie or dress shoes, he's not going. As a matter of fact, he's not taking anything other than tennis shoes and sandals with him and his feeling is if a restaurant doesn't want him dressed as he is, then they don't want his money and he's ok with that. So, no Emeril's or any of the other nicer places for us. . . also no clubbing. Since it is a family vacation, that's ok. We will have one night out to dinner with no kids, but I believe that's the night DH wants to go to Boston Lobster Feast. It's pretty pricey and our kids won't eat the high end seafood, so waste of money. Any reviews on Boston Lobster Feast??

Fishbones, not Bonefish, is part of the "Talk of the Town" restaurant group, which includes Charley's Steak House and Vito's Chop house. All of the locations are "fine dining/casual atmosphere" if you will. "Park attire" = completely normal and accepted.

I went to Boston Lobster Feast once. I learned one again why I don't like lobster--I don't like it if my food is staring me in the face. I also don't like having to "kill" my food. I'm okay with crab legs, but lobster + me = no dice. :badpc:

Tell me more about this McDonalds. My kids have to eat at McDonalds at least once on vacation:confused: , but this sounds like more than our local one. Where is it, what is it, any info would be appreciated.:)

Thanks for posting those links. Looks like we've found the McDonalds we'll be eating at on vacation.:)

I appreciate your help.

the Dark Marauder - any comments to Bubbalous? We absolutely love a good BBQ. Any other places you would recommend?

wwessing - we usually hit a Denny's along with the IHOP.

When we are at Disney, we usually stay there. When we stay at Universal - we are more likely to adventure outside the parks. We have ate at most of the restaurants at Universal and I cannot really say a bad thing about anyone of them. Anyone else's recommendations?
