First morning at loop 300 {near the lake]. DH says did you hear the loud music coming from the neighbors at 9:45 last nite, DS says did you hear the idiot blowing his car horn every 45 minutes or so till 2am. You guessed it the loud music was the Electric Water Pageant!! The horn was the boat transportation from the Magic Kingdom !!

funny!

:lmao: Thats funny. When I was a kid and we stayed in a pop up I would hear that to but i liked it to me it was all part of FW.:thumbsup2

A few years ago , myself and ( we'll call him Bubba ) a friend were fish'n the shore line, we started at the Fort marina an worked our way round to WL..We crossed over the pool area to the other side of the WL (dock still on the shore) when Bubba hooked into a monster. The monster began heading toward the end of the dock where the boats arrive .Bubba had never hooked a fish so big,,his pole was bending in half ! Once at the end of the dock he had no where to go , we could hear his pole cracking , he had the fish close to the top of the water, had to hang off the dock with one leg & one arm to reach the fish at the top of the water . By this time a boat had arrived loaded with people , the boat had had come to a complete stop out in the water ,to wait for Bubba to get up on the dock with his fish ,,The Capt,,the 1'st mate an all the folks on board gave him a standing ovation . The fish weighed 6 lbs. And many pics were taken . (We DO Not However Make A Habbit Of Fishing Off Disney Docks.):cool1:

I miss that sound!! I can't wait til I go again! That is funny:lmao: :lmao:

On our first trip to Fort Wilderness since i was a teenager we were in the 1500 loop in a pop up. It was our first night there so we were in bed early that night and i had just gotten into bed when i heard the music. I knew immediately what it was and was surprised to be able to hear it all the way at the 1500 loop. I had totally forgotten all about the electric water pagent and was very pleasantly surprised to see it hadnt changed a whole lot in all these years.

the first time i went to the fort was with my mother and 2 aunts the first night i was there my aunt maymaygrumy froze us all to death with the air conditioning in the cabin it was about 90 degrees outside and about 55 inside we were very happy we went in july because if we didnt there would have been no way for us to keep warm:rotfl:

:lmao: That is way too funny. :lmao: We we're in loop 200 last June and while I definitely heard the Water Pagent I honestly don't remember the boat horns being an issue at all. I think it's just part of the magic of the Fort and if they weren't there I would miss them.

I remember the first time we heard the Richard Petty Driving Experience, and we all kind of looked at each other and was like, what the heck, who is driving so fast through the Fort. We actually got up to look around to see if someone was speeding through or there was some kind of chase going on or something...lol.

Then it hit us what we were actually hearing. Duh......

Man I cant wait to hear those things......hopefully sooner than planned....we have to go and see hubbys grandparents in Ocala in June, so I am hoping for at least a 2 night stay at the fort.....wish me luck on my "pitch"...lol

Now that most of the underbrush has been removed from FW, those musical nights and boat horns can be heard well into the park. I didn't remember it being as noisy in years past but this last November, it seemed like the boat was sitting next door blowing its horn.

Well Capt...ya know what they say in the music biz....if its too loud, you're too old!!! ;)

To be quite honest, when my wife and I were at the Fort some 10 years ago, after 14 something hours of working the parks each day ....we just crashed!! A meteor could have hit beside our tent and I wouldn't have heard it.

:faint:
