You begin filling your tank and the pump cuts off at $24.60, meaning the tank is full. Here's the question.....do you run back in, through the driving rain to get your .40 cents back? Me? I'd just call the guy over and tell him to give me change as here in NJ it's illegal to pump your own gas

I guess it depends on if it's a pay week.
Forty cents is better in my pocket than theirs, I pay enough for gas, but I'd hate to ruin my new shoes. Dilema....dilema.....I'd run back barefoot and keep the change. I'm a little cheapskate.

And for the answer to the original question, nah. Unless they'd be giving me handy-dandy state quarters. Those are cool. Especially the new ones. But if it's only $.40, that means only one quarter. So, still my answer is "Nah".

I have never pre-payed for gas before. I always pay at the pump and at places that don't do that, you can usually just pay when you're done pumping. So, this would never happen to me realistically but if it did, I'd probably go back in. I'm cheap like that.
