Well since we got burned by a renter we decided to take a last minute trip to Disney. :cool2: Unfortunately we could not get into our home, BWV...but we did get a 1 bedroom at the VWL. How are the VWL anyways? Looking forward to the stay. It will be my first DVC experiance since buying. I purchased the AP because we will be down in November again...the DDE card-do you think its possible for me to get this being 2 weeks from departure.....

Our first trip after buying a BWV resale was also to VWL and we loved it! It's a beautiful resort and there is a lot to do there. You can rent a bike or a surrey bike and ride along a paved trail to Fort Wilderness and you can rent a boat and explore the lake. You can even take your boat across the water bridge all the way over to the Magic Kingdom. You cannot dock there, but you can enjoy the view of the castle from the lake. Whispering Canyon Cafe is a fun place to eat and the pool area is very scenic and we enjoyed watching the geyser from the hot tub! If you enjoy having an adult beverage out by the pool, try a "Lumberjack" from the pool bar. It will make you forget all about the problems you had with your renter!

As far as buying the DDE card, call and order it first thing tomorrow morning and there is a very small chance it might arrive before you go, but it's very tight. However you can ask them to leave a temporary card for you at Epcot's Guest Services (or is it Guest Relations?) outside the main entrance to Epcot. That's not exactly convenient, but it's better than not having the DDE card at all.

Have a great time!

Just curious...how did you get burned? I rent out my points occasionally (only when I absolutely have to), and would love to "learn" from your experience.

TIA,

Well its partially my fault. I was contacted by some one wanting a 2 bedroom at BWV during the 11 month window. I booked the stay and never recieved a deposit....I waited 4 weeks before I cancelled. Thats my fault, my contract specifically says 7 days from the confirmation. But according to the renter the check was in the mail twice and overnighted once.....still no deposit. The points are not in jeopardy at all, so we are using some now and I rented some as well,,,,,haven't received a deposit yet on this rental but its only been a day.
