Here now and loving it!!

My husband and I have been here since Monday, our first time, and we are having a wonderful time. We are here until Wednesday. This is our 45th anniversary trip and our first time in Hawaii. We have a beautiful ocean view room and the weather has been perfect. We have visited Pearl Harbor and have an Island tour planned for tomorrow. We really wanted a very relaxing trip and that is what we are having.

We have eaten at AMA AMA and enjoyed our dinner. Service was good and the sunsets have been beautiful. We do not have a rental car and are not big eaters, but we have enjoyed our lunches and dinners at AMA AMA, Ulu Cafe and Off the Hook.

Been noticing a lot of complaints about the beds at Aulani. Thoughts?

Hopefully you were able to walk across the street and enjoy some of those dining options as well? Pizza Corner was good and we had enough leftovers for lunch the next day. We ate at Monkeypod twice and loved it. Glad you're enjoying!

We are now sitting at LAX awaiting our flight back to Nashville. We broke up the flight, spent last night here in LA. Our trip was fantastic. We didn't find the beds uncomfortable at all. We did ask for an extra blanket, but that was because my husband likes the room like a freezer!

We did eat at the pizza place across the street, it was okay. We ate at AMA AMA several times and at the buffet once, on a non character night. I loved the food at the buffet. The salmon was delicious. I am a huge fruit eater and was able to satisfy my craving with the fruit cups at the Ulu Cafe. We did get the mugs and used them quite a bit while relaxing at the adult pool.

The tours we took were great. Pearl Harbor was very humbling. It really was very interesting and gave new meaning to what WW2 meant to me. My mother was aBritish war bride, and often talked about the GIs in Europe. The Island tour was wonderful, it was very long, 9 and a half hours, but well worth it. Our guide was so informative and just knew everything.

It was a wonderful anniversary trip and one we will always remember.
