Arrived yesterday afternoon and here are my thoughts so far...

Despite flying Delta in the middle of the mess we only got here 30 minutes late. They were so awesome about it and made us feel like they really cared that they could have screwed up our vacation. The text notifying me of flight delay allowed for and extra hour of sleep

Staying at BLT on rented points. ( Disney vacation rental). And I'm never doing anything else. Love the location. And paid for a lake view but have a theme park view. Used Amazon prime now for water and snacks. Awesome , on time ,and reasonable prices.

Love fast pass plus. We rode mine train at 5 pm when stand by was around 80 minutes. Saved our first day. Got an extra pass for splash after we used our first three.

Got on people mover around 9 and the bottom fell out. By the time the ride was over the rain had stopped. Walked right to the hub with and awesome spot for wishes. No one was rude or pushy.

Bog for breakfast this am with mine train ride at 845. It's a cute coaster and we loved it but not enough to pay for the early entry breakfast thing. We are more space mountain people.

It has honestly not been that hot .... People had me freaked out about the heat with all the surface of the sun comments. Maybe that's why I'm okay with it. We drink lots of water and are having no problems. Have seen no tour groups.

I'll be driving up to Walt Disney World this evening from sunny, hot and humid Miami, Florida.

Glad to hear you haven't seen any tour groups. I'm staying at Pop this time and I've read that's were most tour groups stay.

Wear plenty of sunscreen and stay hydrated.... and think of it as sparkle, not sweat.

im renting a room using dvc as well...how did you get a theme park view when you had a standard view?

I love going in August. It's hot and humid but I don't think it's that much worse than Pennsylvania in August. I think Disney makes it manageable.

She had a lake view, which could also be a theme park view....same thing happened to us at BLT.

Glad to hear you love BLT! We arrive the weekend after Thanksgiving and are super excited. We paid for a lake view but I've been reading how some of the BLT lake views have park views! Can you share your room #? Or what could I ask for to get a similiar view when it's time for me to make a request? TIA!

I'm here too, and did rope drop for Magic Kingdom this morning. I got a LOT done this morning, ate lunch at BOG, then headed over to Epcot for my FP for Frozen. I LOVED Frozen, but it was too short! I wanted more! The crowds don't seem too bad so far.

Sounds like a fabulous time. We are in a heat wave where I live right now and I was outside today thinking that I don't remember any of our 5 August trips being as awful as it was out today. As long as you're smart, stay hydrated and move in and out of air conditioned attractions you can have an awesome time.

We stayed in a standard view in July, and though we were only on the third floor, our view was right on Space Mountain. We watched Wishes from our balcony one night. We were pretty lucky to get a semi-view of the park even though we booked standard. You never know!

We did Star Wars dessert party last night and it was awesome. We stuck around afterwards and took some great pictures of ToT at night with hardly anyone on the street. I was glad we could walk back to Boardwalk after having a few too many mixed drinks. Enjoy the dessert party.
