Here it is - Announcement re More FP+ Beginning 4/28

April 25th. This is what is already gone.. not sure that the 4th. fast pass is going to help much at all.

9:45 am Toy Story Mania FPP gone
9:55 am Test Track FPP gone however back up at 10:10 and gone again at 10:20
9:55 am Splash Mountain FPP gone
10:00 am Soarin FPPgone
10:04 am Rocking Roller Coaster FPP gone
10:12 am Mission Space FPP gone
10:25 am Big Thunder Mountain FPP gone
10:25 am Peter Pan FPP gone
10:40 am Space Mountain FPP gone
10:40 am Tower of Terror FPP gone
10:42 am Safari FPP gone

Unless you want a FP+ for Stitch, that 4th option isn't going to be much use to anyone, since you probably won't be able to use it anyway.

I didn't read through the entire thread (just subbed to it now)

I currently have FP+ scheduled mostly for late afternoon evening. In hopes that I'll be able to do many rides at rope drop.

In light of the new announcement should I change all FP+ to morning?? Ugh!

Hopefully it will be worth it and FP+'s will still be available.

What are the projected crowds for WDW this week? I'd check but I let my TouringPlans for WDW lapse. :cool2: Not to worry though. I've kept the one for DLR up to date. :)

I just figured that with Easter over and school still in session, crowds would be back down again.

That list of rides out of FP at 9:45 is not encouraging. At all.

That is why I said started. By August, the complaining had switched to FP+. Most complained before they used the new system. By that point the complaining about FP- return times was dropped.

Ok. I used it. It turned out exactly like I expected. I loved it the first day and the last. That is where having preplanned FP+ had the most positive impact.

For all day's in between. We rode less and spent less time in the parks. It wasn't even 3 and done because our TT FP+ were cancelled due to rain and there was nothing left in Tier one except at M&G which we would never use.

Ugh, Josh said exactly what I was worried about if they did this. Wait times for the Tier 2 rides with get even worse.

Are the days of riding POC, HM, IASW in the standby line over?

That is exactly what happened to us. RD at Epcot, instead of 2 Soarin' and 2 TT (Single rider line) before lunch it was 1 each and then go to Maelstrom at pening to wait 36 minutes to ride. Unheard of at opening for us.

Could it be that they only want people who are in the park to be able make those additional FP reservations, and the part of the system that can track your location does not yet have the necessary interface with the FP reservation system? Maybe that interface is what they are working on.

Well, it shouldn't be to difficult? You have to use your tickets to make FP+ so they are already on MDE and you have to use your ticket to get into the park.

Josh from EasyWDW gives his take on the new program:

Basically, get your FP+ or wait longer in line.

Yea, I'm still betting the afternoon is the way to go. Tower of Terror was the only ride my family didn't see significant increases in wait time. We would have left DHS out of boredom if I didn't have Sci Fi ADR's I couldn't cancel.

I ended up cancelling half of my TS restaurant lunch reservations because it was too over scheduled and with SB lines longer I couldn't chance missing them. We were late for our Via Napoli (by 5 minutes) and I was stressed.

I'm interested in seeing how this affects those middle of the road (and most of our favorite) rides. I'm talking about those such as Haunted Mansion and Star Tours. They don't seem to usually get worse than 30 minutes but if I can snag late fastpasses for them that would be good.

Keep in mind that this is a busy week. Northeast school are on spring break and it is still part of the Easter holiday.

EasyWDW has the overall crowd level as 7 today. Is that accurate?

If everything is gone on a 7, very early in the morning (before it would be possible to even get a 4th FP), with MK as the most recommended park, things are not looking good for all but the most empty days.

We did the exact same thing. Huh.;)

This sounds vaguely familiar. :scratchin

Yeah.

Except when people hear it from a blog that primarily offers reviews of the best bang for your alcoholic buck and one guy's opinion of crowd levels, it's suddenly expert information.

Peter Pan, Space Mountain, Test Track, Rockin Rollercoaster Tower of Terror are all back with Fast Pass Plus at 11:30 am.. does this mean Disney adds more throughout the day or are people changing their reservations? ... I haven't looked at this before today so I have no idea!

Um... is this the new normal? That's insane.

Is there any way to check FP+ availability without a trip booked? If you have a trip booked for a set time, why can you check them outside of that window, but people who don't have one booked can't check?

OK, that's a little better.

Interesting.

Are you checking for just one person, or a group? Are they back up with lots of options, or does it look like a cancellation here and there?

Does anyone know if Illuminations would be a good option for a 4th FP+? So let's say I rope drop TT then have FP+ for Soarin (9:30-10:30am), Living w/ Land (10:30-11:30am), and Figment (11:30-12:30pm). Do you think at 12:30pm there will still be Illuminations FP+ available to book for that night? That way I could knock out both TT & Soarin and then have a reserved spot for Illuminations that night... I'd be real happy with that!

True. I'd like to see this on a "normal" day or a day not so crowded. Obviously when it's crowded, FPs would be gone no matter what system is in use.

Totally impossible to say right now. You will have to see what it looks like next week. I suggest getting online throughout the day and see what it looks like.

I think changing your plans right now might be a bit pre-mature.

Something else I had not considered is how this will effect a.m. EMH.

I usually avoid a.m. EMH like the plague, but this will make it even worse.

Outside of 8-9, you will be MUCH better served throughout the day in a less crowded more recommended park.
