Hubby codes for the machines that do chip and sign (we do not have chip and pin here in the U.S. As he schooled me lol). As such, the U.S. Chip cards are much more likely to be used for fraudulent charge backs and there's not a lot of recourse for the merchant once a chargeback has occurred because they only have 10 days to refute it and the banks send everything snail mail so a lot of times they receive the letter with the chargeback after when they can refute it.
At least this is what hubby said
it's been a big issue for them apparently.
Eta: he also said if we did have chip and pin like the UK, it would be much more secure.
