Hi. We're on the last couple of days at the Contemporary. Does anyone have any questions? I'd be glad to help. We also stayed at Pop Century and switched mid trip. Now we're in a beatiful garden wing room. Love it. Beautiful warm weather and low crowds = Great Trip!

Ask away!:thumbsup2

Thanks for the offer GONETODISNEY,
We are going in Sept with a 5, almost 3 and 1 year old. Couple CR questions. Don't waste your time on them, but if you know the answers, I'd love the help. :yay:
Is it easy to get from the South wing into the main building with a stroller or is there some obsure ramp door?
Is any work currently being done inside the tower on restaurants and shops? I know all the rooms are done and the north wing is blocked off. Anything else started now?
How easy would it be to eat at the fast grill restaurant (forget the name) with a stroller in tow?
How long is the walk to MK? Is the construction detouring it?
At Chef Mickey's, do the kids HAVE to eat from a separate area or kid's buffet?
How have the bus rides been to the parks?
Any other helpful hints or observations or must see tips for the preschool family would be great! I hope this list isn't too long. I'm a super planner but then with preschoolers it makes it so much smoother to know what to expect. THanks bunches! Marriedmyprince

Marriedmyprince -- To answer some questions,
1. It should be easy enough to get from the south wing to the main wing with a stroller. The walkways are clear and level with no odd stairs, etc. Elevators are easily accessible.
2. The entrance to the food and fun center has a ramp for wheelchairs and strollers, so that's not a problem either. It is a rather small area, but I saw plenty of strollers inside there.
3 We did eat at Chef Mickeys for breakfast and there was a childrens buffet line, but they were not forced to eat only from that line. Should be the same for dinner.
4. As for buses, we avoided them since the one time we took bus to Epcot took 30 minutes because of stops at Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge. My advice -- drive to other parks if you have a car!
5. Work is currently being done on the North Wing and the shops on the concourse. I know that on the left side there were a couple of shops closed. Still, a beautiful hotel.

My one advice -- avoid overscheduling in order to give kids down time. I was extremely dissappointed with kids food choices at dining establishments using the dining plan. Boy are mine sick of chicken nuggets and macaroni! More choice from Disney Please!!!

I hope this helps --- :happytv: ;)

Thanks so much that helps! I totally agree about resting mid-day and since we will do a lot of MK we choose the CR. Do remember how long it took you to walk to the MK? Thanks again, Marriedmyprince

This trip we did not walk to the MK since the kids were thrilled to be riding the monorail, however, from a past trip I seem to remember it being about a 10 minute walk with young kids.

We certainly had a great trip. I hope yours is as wondeful!

Thanks for the info!!! We are staying at the CR in April!!! Can't wait!!!

Oh my goodness! Our first reaction was, "Is this really our room?" It was gorgeous! The plasma tv was of course loved by my kids, and I enjoyed the computer with free internet. The bathroom was luxurious with amazing sinks. The beds were comfortable and the sheets to die for. We certainly never had a sleepless night.

We enjoyed it so much that we are planning another trip already.

From what I could tell, the North wing is not being torn down. The plans from what I understand are to renovate the North wing rooms the same as the south wing. Not much demolition was going on when we were there, but when we checked in the bellhop pointed out that there is a building that will be torn down. While we were there, everything was extremely quiet. Hope that helps some.
