As a DVC owner for 25 years and have two home properties Boardwalk and Animal Kingdom we make it to D.W. A few times a year. I retire this April and my wife will retire early next year, so we will be traveling much more.
How many times we stay at a Disney Resort, get off our plane at Orlando International, go to baggage claim and then get in line at the rent a car, most times there is a line and a long wait. After about an hour or more of our precious vacation time wasted, finally we are on the road to the resort. We pull up to check in and hand the luggage over to valet and go park the car in the guest parking lot. Well there it sits the whole week or more that we are there since Disney provides all the transportation that we will need the whole trip. Not to mention the $300-$500 we had to pay to rent a parked car.
This time we wanted to try something different. We hired a luxury driving company that meets you dressed in a suit at the bottom of the escalator by baggage claim holding an ipad with your name on it. We all have seen them there. We greet each other and the driver escorts us to the large luxury SUV. The driver opens the doors for us to get in and then loads our luggage in the back of the SUV, drives us right up to the front of our resort building unloads our luggage, after tipping our driver they leave and we head up to our room never having to wait in line for a car and park it in a lot that we will not even look at until we are leaving. The cost of hiring a driver is much less than the cost of a car rental (about $60 each way plus tip but with gas prices rising it may be more now) and you get picked up and dropped off at your building or your out going flight. Unless you have plans of leaving the Disney property and will need a car this worked out great plus what a savings. If you need a rental car for one day last I knew there is a rental car agency in the Dolphin resort and you can rent one there. This was a great savings and much more convienent. We never missed having a car and the convience was worth it.

you paid only $60 for each way?

I was quoted $109 for our family, but then it says "minimum 3 hours". not sure what that means
this was just last week…we booked point to point, Orlando airport to Saratoga springs. Smallest vehicle, they showed up in a large SUV. $60 to pick up because we booked ahead of time and $65 to take us back to the airport after our trip $5 more because we booked the day before we were leaving. Never did a minimum hour come up.

Just looked at my invoice. $60 when we arrived at Orlando Airport, to take us to Saratoga Springs Resort and it included a 15 minute stop at a store if we request it, we did not since we arrived at 12:30 am. Let me know how you do.

I was just quoted $96 for the smallest vehicle.

Maybe with gas prices going through the roof, they raised their prices to compensate… I just got home a week ago Sunday.

It most definitely could be gas prices rising. It could also be the time of pick up or the time of year. Many variables.

We used a limo company the last 3 times we flew anywhere-picks up at our door, nice easy ride to the airport with just us, they have water etc inside and it so stress free. Great idea for Disney World!

Why stand in the long lines at the rental car counter. I just check in online at home a day before we leave. Print my paperwork and head straight to my car. Or you can join the rental car programs and you can walk out and use the check in counter in the garage which takes all of 5 minutes because they know I am coming and my car is ready for me. Use the check in kiosk at the rental car counter for other companies and it takes less than 15 to complete your rental pickup.
