Good morning,
I thought I would share this "fact book" about Brevard County that was in our newspaper this morning. I have gone through it and appears to answer so many questions for those coming here.
Hope you will find it useful.

You know what the great part about it is my condo is right behind publix and sticks out like a sore thumb - most of thetime, I can hear the music from the pier - I use to hear more, but so much has been built between the CB Pier and the condo, I don't hear like I use to or maybe its just that I am getting older and trying to blame the progress:lmao:

I really want to go, but Norm can't walk over because of his leg and parking would really be a stickler - come on down and we will sit on the front patio with a Bahama Mama ;-)
Love ya friend

the best part about the condo also that being on the top floor (5th), we get to see all the launches right from our front door, hanging on the railing or putting the bar stools out there and catching the breeze off the ocean.
Now if we can get the developers from adding more "stuff" on the beach, we still have a view of the ocean and the river and the best part, not only see the ships leaving, but after a half hour or so, can go out front and see them all leaving - they follow each other out. Pretty neat.

This was posted on another board and I feel you should be aware of this gas station - I have sent a protest to 2 of the Orlando Television Action Dept so they can look into this.
When I called, I was told they can charge anything they want and futhermore it was none of my business and then I heard CLICK - the idiot hung up on me so that is why I decided to take it a step further.

I just wanted to let all fellow members to be aware of a gas station named SUNCOAST ENERGYS @ 5928 BUTLER NAT'L DR. ORLANDO, FL 32822. This station is directly across the street from Thrifty & Hertz Rental car location closest to MCO Airport.

We went to returned our rental car on Sat. 2/23/08 (after a great cruise) and had to fill up the gas tank before returning(or pay 6.99 per gallon) this station charged us $ 4.499 per gallon..What a rip off. They should be ashamed of them selves screwing people like this.

After some research it appears that this has been going on for sometime, they are the only one close to the airport and car rental places so they know that can screw travelers.

There are no signs outside the station listing prices so we should have know better, but they are praying on the traveler being in a hurry.

Why the state of FL has not shut them down is beyond me. FL relies so much on tourism that I can't beleive they let them continue to RIP OFF THE PUBLIC....

So anyone flying out of MCO and renting a car, PLEASE go about another mile and fill up your car.( If I had only known that before) Save your self some money. Tell all other Cruisers if you can!!

Thanks Shirley! :thumbsup2 I'm curious, do you feel the article is pretty accurate, OR would "you" (I want YOUR opinion here!) have come up with a different selection? :)

In my sincere thoughts yes they are, but I feel they didn't mention other great ones like the Inn of Cocoa Beach, Best Western (which has just gone a new renovation) Motel 6 which just had some renovations made - every one of the hotels have had some problems, complaints etc, but all in all I sincerely believe each of them really really try to give it their best - My biggest suprise is that the Radisson didn't make "the list" it so it leaves some doubts in my mind for I know that the Radisson is up there with the best - yet they have its 2 ''sisters'' listed. Its just food for thought

We were there on Feb. 23 as well. However, the pump we were at charged $4.65 per gallon. I wonder why our pump was even more or if they upped the price later in the day. The sad part was that they were packed. It seemed that everyone went there. I would have gone farther to pay less but did not know.

FYI- Also, we rented a car from Thrifty. We went from the Port Canaveral and dropped off in Orlando. Were not charged a $15 fee. I know that was a possible problem that I was concerned about.

This is why I have listed on the first page a list of gas stations that are just a skip and a hop from the one that charges so much - Wish everyone could boycott them even for a little while so that they will get the message, but as long as folks do not know that they can get cheaper gas just at the next block, they will continue to keep charging what they do and noone will or can do anything about it. Its really a shame and a black mark on anyone one charges "what the traffic is force to pay".
