First, you must promise me that you will not, nor ever will, use the below to text while on a ride or during a performance. I've posted on doing so elsewhere. 'Nuf said.
I think that this will be very helpful on our upcoming vacation, and wanted to share. Google has a free texting application (for those of us without SmartPhones but who can text.) I've tried it out on line as well as on my phone, and it works well for finding out lots of basic information. I have unlimited messaging, so the service does not cost. If you are charged per message, that would be the cost to you. Here is the link:

This page pretty much explains it all. I found some ways of texting especially relavent to Disney World, so read on if you want.
It helps to have the zip code of DisneyWorld, 32830
The phone number is: "Google" (or 466453)
For the body of the text: if you want to know the weather for the day, type in "Weather 32830" I tried a couple of other types of questions, and found that if I texted:
"restaurant reservations 32830" it would give me the number for Disney Dining Reservations.
"restaurant polynesian 32830" would give me the phone numbers (and addresses) of the restaurants in the Polynesian, so you can call directly if you are running late.
Or, text "translate you may not cut in line in Portuguese" and see what comes up.
THAT would be very helpful in July.
You can text to find out weather information, flight information, and much more helpful information for travelers. I hope you all find it promising.
